Floating on a river flowing between mountains, the hotel is in perfect harmony with the nature of Sai Yok. And you'll be able to fully enjoy the extraordinary space and experience. In addition, it's recommended to access the hotel by boat from the parking lot on the way, as you can enjoy nature more.
It can't be helped because it is surrounded by nature, but there are many insects, so you need to be careful. In particular, I think it would be good if you could give a little more consideration to insect repellent measures.

A therapeutic retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. You feel like you are in a 4-star resort, but it’s hard to believe that you’re in the middle of nowhere (on a floating house with water flowing beneath your floorboards!).
Activities offered by the hotel come at a hefty price tag. Sometimes transportation is not even included. Otherwise, there’s not much to do since you are living in a very remote area. For free, you can visit an actual Mon village and pay a 300 thb fee to explore Lawa cave. You have to pay for a private longboat charter if you want to visit elsewhere (1,000 thb).

Definitely an experiential stay. Chiling on the floating balcony was really cozy and nice. Even the lobby and the restaurant were floating! The food was great, and the staff were amazing in accommodating our dietary requirements despite restrictions in available ingredients. Was told that the boat will leave on an hourly basis, but from our experience, it can be more frequent than that which was nice.
The double bed was comfy, but it seemed like it was made by putting two single beds next to each other. You can slightly fall into between the two beds if you sleep right in the middle of the bed. Minor issue, but would be great if it's improved next time. Another thing, maybe they should improve the security at the car park at the pier. That place looked deserted at late evening, and without any roof, I sometimes was worried about my rental car being left there overnight.

Fantastic concept and very unique location. Good restaurant and food arrived on time and big portions. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Our highlight was the boat trip when checking in and out. Sleeping under mosquito nets was great fun and none of the family were bitten!
We stayed during a period of rainy weather and so could not swim. This wasn’t the fault of the hotel at all. However when checking out we discovered other guests had been using nearby resort pool which we hadn’t been told about and the kids would have loved. Food was good but not excellent. Trips and tours were expensive compared to local guide which we booked.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at the Float House. Everything was lovely. Stay - The rooms, the bed, amenities and facilities were great. View - It's just peaceful and tranquil. Lucky that we had quiet neighbours. We sat on decking and the swing for hours. Even late night, we switch off some lights and sat on the swing. Whispering to ourselves while listening to the river flows. Wine, drinks and snacks of course. No mosquitos. The air was so fresh too. (There are lots of mosquitos at the parking areas, above the hotel though) Food - Breakfast was pretty good. We had lunch and dinner at the Potoon restaurant too. The dishes are pretty decent and we enjoyed everything. The prices are not that high. Staff- Friendly, helpful and lovely :) Thank you! Activities- We only did one which is renting the raft and float down the river. It was said to be safe. I am surprised that I did even though I was scared. But pls be carful since the hotel won't take responsibilities for any accidents happen. Another way, from your hotel decking, you can also jump in the water with life jacket on. At the end of the hotel, there is small bridge with red flag (near spa) which you shall (must) climb up. If you miss that, there is still a long rope line which you can swim up. I struggled myself as I am not a good swimmer and I missed that red flag due to the strong current. I managed it in the end though. Had a panic attack 😃Lucky for me that there was staff watching out, but I m not sure if he standby all day. Just be carful then you'd be ok. If you are coming to Kachanaburi and looking for tranquility, romantic and a different experience, "The Float House" is the one. One more tip: If you are coming to the hotel by car, just hire from Bolt app. We only paid for 1800 bath from Bangkok Downtown to the hotel which is around 4 hours ( maybe 4.5 hours) drive to the hotel parking areas.
Nothing major. Just that it's a bit far, 4 hours drive from Bkk. Restaurant has flies which are pretty annoying. It's true that the house shakes every time boats pass by, however, it's not that annoying. I find it as a kind of different experience.

We wish we could've stayed longer. It started with a warm welcome - we were given cold towels and tea for refreshment. The staff were kind and helpful (my partner forgot his bag when we were already on the boat, luckily one of the staff handed the bag to us on the other side of the pier). The rooms exceeded my expectation, the bed was comfortable. The toilet and bathroom were clean. They had complete necessities. Plenty of choices for their breakfast. The food was great too, we paid separate for our dinner - they have western/european choices in their menu such as fish and chips, burger etc. It was indeed quiet and peaceful - great time to be away from the city. The view, the whole idea of the Float House is very aesthetic. They offer many other activities too, but sadly we were not able to do any.
WiFi was not working at all (but this gave us time to just really enjoy the place). We wanted to avail the spa service. Unfortunately, the massager was not available on the day. It can get a little shaky when boats passes by so if you're prone to motion sickness, keep it in mind.

It was a memorable stay here in the float house as I celebrated my birthday, the whole structure floating in the river nestled in the remote jungle area is something very unique I have ever experienced. We have been to water villas in maldives but this one gives you the real floating experience as the whole house moving , specially when the boats are passing through the river. Their food is also nice as for the lunch and dinner. And for the breakfast they had a lot of options. Additional information: If anyone coming from Kanchanaburi ( if from bangkok you will start from thonburi train station) you can take the train and get down to the last station "Nam Tok" and then you take a car or van up to Phutakien pier ( it takes around 15 to 20 minutes). After reaching there you will find the private boat of float house waiting for you. It seemed to be the most efficient way ( also you can see some landmarks like River kwai bridge, death pass, scenic views on the way) rather than taking a cab which will be way too much expensive.
Its not actually the problem of the property but I was really concerned about the security as the open deck with the room is directly open to the river. For my 5 year old kid I had to be really alert all the times for his movement. Its just that you need to be cautious if have small kids .

This is a special Thailand experience. I have lived here 20 years as a foreigner and rank this experience in my top three. But it’s not for everyone and don’t expect it’s a top tier city 5 star. It is remote and will take a min 4 hours from Bangkok ( forget google estimates). When you come to this resort and unless you have transport you need to be prepared to stay there as there are no other options for entertainment, eating or convenience store type supplies. Put that aside and if you love scenery, swimming, rafting, relaxing and a quiet setting you will love it. Prices in the restaurant are very reasonable but don’t expect a 5 star menu in the jungle. Finally please also note it’s not for young children as all rooms have direct access to the river.
I miss that they removed the pontoon up river allowing guests to jump in the river and float the full length of the resort. Now you must access the river from your own room.

The bedroom and facilities were excellent, sitting right by and on the river was exactly what I wanted and more than met my expectations. The restaurant food was pretty good, also liked happy hour. Breakfast was better than dinner with a good choice of everything. The staff who carried the luggage up and down those stairs deserve a medal !!! Still always had a smile. I am sure they get tipped well, and deserve every baht.
The steps up and down to the hotel are awful, something needs to be done about that - and how about the poor staff who have to carry luggage up and down every day. Not only is it very tiring, must be virtually impossible for the elderly, it is also a high safety risk. Rooms are very highly priced. Many of the staff in the restaurant were very unfriendly, most were not Thai, which is not an issue, they should be better trained. Similarly with the check out, paid the bill, barely a thank you, and certainly no wishes to see us back at the hotel

If your looking for a quiet luxury place at an extraordinary location with great hospitality you have to visit. The luxury floating hotel is one of a kind. Enjoyed this place very much, everything is well organized like the transport from and to Phukatien Pier. You can btw reach the pier with Grab, but not for the trip back to Bangkok. Book a transfer in advance.
The boat ride to the pier is complementray. You get there with Grab from Bangkok, but book the transport back in advance. No Grab or Bolt available.
