I am a credit card bicycle tourist. I ride my bicycle across countries all over the world carrying bare essentials and staying in hotels and dining in restaurants. I like Hotel Route Inn in Japan because they provide all the necessary services/facilites. A place to park a bicycle, clean efficient rooms, and a great breakfast to get you going for a 100k bike ride. No other chain offers as much as Hotel Route Inn at a reasonable cost. Over the last 5 years in Japan I have stayed at all the hotels and I enjoy Route Inn the most .

As always route Inn hotel rooms are always clean and tidy. If you are someone who has never stayed in a Japanese business style hotel you may find the room tiny, but as someone who lives in Japan and doesn't need a room for anything other than having a shower, sleeping and getting ready, the room was more than satisfactory.

I am yet to find anything I haven't liked when staying at Route Inn Hotels, I've stayed at 3 different locations across 2 prefectures.

They offer free breakfast which I was not aware of, I didn't expect too much but there was quite a few varieties of food. Definitely a plus. Also they had public bath(big onsen style bath) which was quite relaxing, and I enjoyed it. The hotel location was good, just 5 min or so from Hamamatsu service area(which is really nice facility) on free way, lots of restaurants near the hotel as well. It is a quite casual hotel like Best Western, not fancy. Good place to stay on your road trip with free parking.

Although they have everything you need for a quick overnight stay, I found the bed was not very comfortable to my liking, (but most beds in Japan are quite stiff) and I prefer a covered duvet as lots of hotels use now adays rather than old fashioned flat sheets. Felt like the duvet was slipping and I woke up a few times because of it. Well, those are my personal preference, though.

Room was clean and spacious. It has artificial onsen and its in good location for the restaurant choices.

A bit far from shopping centre.

The Route Inn Hamamatsu, another really good quality Hotel, great location, ample parking, good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, easy check-in, very clean, comfortable rooms with good lighting. This Hotel is suitable for everyone, from businessmen to families.

Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was good, free parking, silent environment, there is hot spring.
