Our room was spacious with a fireplace, balcony and view of the surroundings, very quiet and comfy. Lodge had a warm fireplace with cozy chairs.. a game room and a TV room..

The bathroom was a bit dated.. the tub was elevated on tile.. and you had to be careful to step down.. for seniors and disabled a little dangerous:(. The restaurant was very good but you need to make reservations for every meal including breakfast. We were not able to choose all the times we wanted so were forced to eat too early or too late. The town is more than ten miles away so that was a burden. Be sure to make reservations ahead!!!

Sun Mountain is a exceptional facility. If you want peace and quiet, you're going to get it. It's the main reason we come.

I understand not changing the sheets or cleaning the room every day, especially since we were only there for 2 nights. A new set of clean glasses and towels each day would have been nice. I was disappointed by the limited time the restaurants were open. Closing breakfast at 10:30 is okay but closing food service entirely until noon is not. This necessitates going into to town for a meal. The spa and pool need to open before 9:00 am. If you want to use the spa before breakfast, you're going to have to choose one or the other. Our room had not been cleaned well at check in. The bathroom smelled of mold around the shower and there was grime on the floor.

Beautiful lodge and terrific staff. It was warm and inviting even though it was so cold outside. Lots of activities for Christmas and if you like cross country skiing they have a great set up. And down in Winthrop you can ice skate or rent snow mobiles. Almost every dish we tried from the 2 restaurants onsite were delish.

We missed having a TV in the rooms. And I'm not an espresso fan which is what is offered in the rooms. Glad drip coffee was available in the lobby. We had trouble with plumbing in 1 of our rooms that persisted the entire visit. Apparently a major fix is needed. And the spa was not really a spa. Just a couple rooms with massage therapists available. They are building an actual spa on the premises that will maybe open in 2024. Restaurant prices are a bit high but it's quite a long haul to any other option when it's snowy.

When pulling up to the Lodge for the first time you really have no idea how awesomely large the grounds are. My wife and I were located in the furthest building from the main Lodge. The parking was right next to the room, the room itself was great. Jetted Tub, bed, shower, fire place all very clean and ready for our use. We went during a colder time of the year but still took advantage of the stellar view from the private deck.

Had no idea there were no T.V's in the rooms. Or maybe it was just our room for whatever reason :) We looked all over but to no avail. The curtain tops (above the hook carriers) needed to be cleaned but honestly I'm probably the only person that's ever noticed it before.

Just beautiful! Clean, amazing, fancy , I mean this place is lovely.

Dining… I called, they said they were full. We walking in at 5:10 and they were not full! They were empty and sat us right away. In the morning, we were there at 7:20…. At 7:40 we let ourself into the closed dining room and got sat. The staff that helped us was a Mexican young man. He was the most delightful, sweet guy! Thanks for employing him.

Secluded and such peacefulness surrounding the beautiful property! All inclusive with magnificent views and comfy, attractive rooms. Really wonderfully friendly staff! Delicious food (get the squash dish and pecan old fashion!). Our July visit saw gorgeous flowers, sunsets, and lovely evening winds…

Absolutely nothing. Well, they closed the game room to the general public on our last night here so I missed being able to embarrass my spouse in ping pong…

Great view, secluded, private, no tvs in rooms is just great for a clear your head kind of weekend.

Restaurant availability is just difficult here and don't really want to drive into town. Had fish and chips in bar for lunch and was really great, got chicken wings to go to room for dinner since I could not get in for dinner and they were by far the most bland, boring, and low quality wings I have ever eaten

The lodge is updated to meet todays needs. The bathroom is remodeled and very nice. The whole lodge is very clean and very calming and nice atmosphere. The pictures do not do justice to this excellent place. Nice size pool and the area around it. The lunch and dinner food was excellent and very nice (I like that the menu had options, unlike everything fried). The lodge is built to if you need anything it is there and very relaxing

The pool needs to be cleaned more, and offering drinks (where no glass should be served) and light lunch would be very lovely. The breakfast service and food was horrible (that was so dissapointing since everything was exceptional), get rid of the buffet option and bring out a menu and ordering service instead. Also wifi services could have been better

The location is fabulous - breath taking views over the mountains. All staff were very friendly and always attentive. Breakfast was lovely - coffee with an amazing view and the choices on the menu great, out favorite was the salmon/pea puree toast, yummy! We also hit the bar a couple of times and burger, brisket & chicken sandwich were excellent - paired with craft beer on tap. We enjoyed the pool as well as the lake nearby where we did stand up paddling. There are numerous hiking trails leaving right from the resort - again, beautiful scenery, all well marked. The room was a standard size, two comfy beds and a completely remodeled, modern bathroom. We stayed in 322 - nice mountain view yet the view on the other side is even better. Winthrop is an idyllic little town with many eclectic boutiques and good restaurant options - our favorite by far was Jupiter. So all in all - highly recommendable to stay at the lodge. There a number of highly critical reviews and we were honestly rather skeptical when driving up to the lodge. We cannot judge what may have went wrong with others, yet from our experience of staying here for days we can give a clear 5 star rating!l

Staff was super friendly, eager and welcoming yet as a note to management they would empower their staff even more if there was more onboarding training provided;

Overall Great Location and Views. Resort style accommodations. Large, comfortable room with a view!

With the cost, we expected at minimum a free continental breakfast. Recognizing your restaurant availability, you could use one room for full breakfast and one for convenient meal. Microwave was not available in the room; however, was provided on request to the front desk.
