Our glamping tent was beautifully designed and furnished. It had everything we needed, including and especially a modern, super-clean bathroom.

It just so happened it was extremely windy our first night, so the canvas tent walls flapped in the wind and their zippers rattled all night. I would advise people staying multiple nights on KI to stay in Kingscote or mid-island to cut down on driving time. Also the only place to eat in Penneshaw was the Penneshaw pub and they were overbooked and slow. We ended up dining on snacks we’d fortunately bought at the IGA.

Very tidy, stylishly furnished glamping style tent. I can say I camped now! Well not really… It’s pretty luxurious and comfortable. There’s a heater supplied too, which is fabulous and works well on a chilly night. Thought the soft bed might be a problem but it was actually super comfortable for me. Think it’s a sort of memory foam thing… bedding was very smart, too, with a decent quilt and sheets. No hanging space which is a bit strange, but it is a large tent with a high ceiling and feels great.

There were two main negatives. The facilities are great ….you have a sort of ensuite bathroom/shower with a toilet and sink ….all very nicely done. But there are only five and a couple of times they were all being used at which point you have only one seperate toilet available. If thats occupied , cross your legs! It wasn’t totally full when we were there, so it would presumably be even worse at such times. The second thing was the stairway up to our bell Tent was frankly dangerous …. lopsided at the top and uneven steps. I’m sure they’ll get these fixed eventually , hopefully before somebody falls and makes a claim!

After hours check in was a little difficult. We only checked in 15 minutes after they closed the office. The key we were given didn’t fit the lock, pub was open so we headed there for dinner but took about 2 hours and spam calling to get onto the after hours number with no back up plan. Once we got the call back all was sorted out quickly and the rest of the stay was awesome.

Accomodation was very comfortable. View was lovely. Very close to ferry port and town

The park was a short distance by car from the reception but longer and inconveniant if you didnt have transport especially if you needed to pull suitcases. There was no way to contact reception if there was an issue and similarly nowhere to leave the key on the holiday park when you wanted to check out. It would have been nice to have had access to toaster and the bowls, cutlery etc so we could have made a simple breakfast without having to walk into town.

Nice location in Penneshaw, near the ferry and close walking distance to cafes and shops. The fancy “glamping” cabin had its own bathroom, small kitchenette and outdoor area. Very comfortable bed. Has laundry facilities if you just came from camping. Staff are very friendly.

At night, it can get a bit noisy from work being down near the ferries.

We stayed in the glamping tent and it was a luxurious as a tent could be. Sitting on the deck watching wallabies hop past or Blue Wrens dance around was an amazing experience

We stayed in the glamping tent with the best view and could only just see the ocean so don't expect sea views. Also the ferry can be a little noisy during the day.

Wonderful experience to sleep in a tented camp with a view of the beach at Penneshaw. The staff were very helpful and booked our ferry crossing for us with a discount which was great.

There were some works going on at the ferry port which were noisy late into the night - but not the fault of the accommodation, just a bit annoying!

Fantastic glamping experience. Very large tent with exceedingly comfortable bed. Tasteful appropriate decor. Large soft and fluffy bath towels. Coffee pod machine, and all of this in a tent! Adjacent to the sculpture park. Easy walk to restaurants and pub.

The cutest glamping experience. Perfect location, beautiful view. We stayed in fancy tents and they even had running water and a/c! The walls zipped open and closed for privacy and airflow. Fabulous deck with chairs to sit out.

A microwave would have been awesome.

We loved our stay! We stayed in a glamping tent for 2 nights and it was beautiful! Very comfortable bed, nicely decorated, comfortable sofa and very nice bathroom. Highlight was sitting on the deck and watching the wildlife!
