The location is great! Right next to train station, lake and city center. Inside the building is also a nice public library with is designed very well and offers comfortable seats for relaxation. My room looked good and it was possible to open the windows. Shampoo, soap, cream and conditioner are available for free in the bathroom, also a hair dryer and iron. Staff was friendly and Hotel Kolding has a really good breakfast with homemade Marmelade and fresh juices, even local honey with combs. One of the best breakfast buffets I've come across yet.

I would recommend to replace the glasses for the coffee with big mugs which don't get so hot and are more comfortable to hold.

In one of our rooms the washroom sink was not functioning properly. The water was clogged and after complaining at the reception the young lady over there said that she is alone but she will come and check and housekeeping staff is already left. But she never came to check the problem and after over 1 1/2 hrs wait, I went to talk to them, this other young lady at the reception desk at that time was nice enough and provided one other room key just to use the washroom, this other room was also on the same floor but pretty far so we didn't use that. It was our second time at this Hotel in the past 8 months. So I personally felt a little disappointed by this, especially at a four star Hotel.

Excellent location next to rail station and in centre close to all what Kolding offers. Own parking for reasonable price, nice and helpful personnel at the reception desk. Truly wide choice for breakfast. Even I mention some minuses the place is a very good place to stay.

By booking the breakfast doesn’t mean you have the reservation. I didn’t get the reason for this when coming on time and the room was overcrowded and told to wait. The breakfast booking confirmation sais “The reservation starts and ends at the above mentioned times. In the event of late arrival, the reservation will still end at the above stated end time.” No one cares in fact. Although the breakfast choice is huge - real regular milk of 1,5-3,5% fat was missing. Fat free milk was not even white. Lastly the reported broken shower was not repaired in two days.

The location in central Kolding was great, the room itself clean and albeit somewhat small totally sufficient for what we were looking for.

Good thing to note: a "Queen bed" is not considered a 2-person bed in this hotel. We booked the room with a queen bed and then had to pay extra on arrival because we were 2 guests. It did totally fit 2 people and so after we paid the extra 200 DKK for the additional blanket and breakfast, we had a fine room for 2 people. The receptionist was rather hostile though and made it seem very much our fault that we did not understand that a queen bed is for a single person.

Ideally situated. Nice room with excellent bed. And we had a lovely breakfast. I really enjoyed the choice so that you could have quite a healthy breakfast.

I would rather say that a few things could be slightly improved. The staff was friendly, but seemed very young and not so professional as you might expect a place like this. Moreover, although the breakfast was very good - I always prefer to have the coffee served at the table to avoid to get everything yourself. Perhaps some trays could make it easier to bring the food, drinks etc. to the table (if there were trays, I did not see them).

We had the opportunity to check in after midnight. The lady at the reception was very kind and helpful. Additionally, the breakfast was very good, hearty, and diverse, with options for all tastes.

When we arrived late at night, we found only one small duvet on the bed (which consists of two single beds pushed together). I’m not sure if this is standard practice or if they simply forgot to provide a second duvet. However, going to the reception at 3 in the morning to request one was not comfortable at all. Additionally, the room was quite warm. We tried to adjust the heating to the minimum, but it didn’t seem to make any difference.

There was much to like: it's a lovely Atmosphere, very comforting staff members, and a good selection of breakfast.

I think, any other person visiting a hotel, expect cleanliness, and with the most part being fairly clean, I believe something like the yellow on the shower walls(or in the corners) and the shower curtain which seems to need a wash. These impact the feeling of a perfect stay quite a bit but didn't take away the overall experience of the hotel. Other small things to note: the glass table in the room had some finger marks on it and the TV remote had a bit of finger oil on it (for me not a big deal) but thought I'd share. Great stay non the less!

This is the second time I have come to Kolding, and while I loooove the Koldingfjord hotel, this can not be beat for location and ease of access (Koldingfjord Hotel requires a bus ride out to the property and of course the bus only runs every so often, so you have to plan ahead). The Kolding Hotel is right across from the train station and a five-minute walk “into” town or the Koldinghus. It is a modern business-like hotel. The staff was nice, the room was fine, with a nice big desk. The shower had a flimsy plastic shower curtain, but many people coming to Europe will prefer that to the half-door of glass found in many hotels. You need to sign up for a breakfast time the night before. I stayed two nights and found that that worked fine, even if doing the QR code etc was a little annoying. The breakfast was good. I found lodging in Ribe was more than I wanted to pay, so instead I stayed two nights here and took the train to and from Ribe. Then I left for Copenhagen from Kolding. This is a comfortable hotel in an excellent location.

I don’t know what it is about hotels in Denmark, but this is the second time I have stayed in a hotel there and had an absolutely disgustingly filthy fan left for supposed use in the room. It was even the same model of fan I had two years ago at Generator in Copenhagen ! The dust that was furred up on the fan blades would give you an asthma attack the second you turned on the fan. Yuck. ,

A great stay at a good price. Lots of great attention to detail with the stay - the breakfast was great. Really close to the station. Nice room and wonderful to have sulphate-free eco-friendly products to use! Great to have Chromecast on the TV and also a generous amount of pillows! We will revisit in the future.

There was almost nothing to dislike! Only niggle was the slightly warm room - windows could open but the noise from outside was too much.

Really good location, I got the room with a view, friendly staff, they speak english as well, they have convenient parking underground for free. Clean room and the breakfast was AMAZING, lots of things to choose from. Very close from the Kolding Castle and restaurants and bars.

This place would be perfect if it had AC, they do have little fans in the room tho. I went on a chill day so I was fine with it… But I don’t know if that would be enough on a hot summer day.
