This traditional Riad is highly recommended if you want to dive into the very heart of the UNESCO world heritage centre. The perfectly refurbished building gives an original feeling of living in and above the tiny alleys of the souk - be aware that you have to transport your luggage for 200...300 meters by hand. It is amazingly calm in the house, and plenty of traditional breakfast in a broad variety is served in a cozy environment with an astounting view above the roofs. In warmer months sunbathing on the rooftop is possible. Meknes itself is smaller and calmer than neighbouring Fes, so all sights can be walked on foot (many sights are still in the process of refurbishment until late 2025 or 2026?).

This is the largest and most beautiful riad I have seen in my month in Morocco. It's 3 1/2 floors, 12 rooms, large communal areas, multiple staircases on either side of the building and open roof top make it a delight to stay in and photograph. The bathrooms come with multiple towels, soap, shampoos, toilet paper and tissues. The bathroom is spacious and shower area can easily accommodate people of all sizes. The wardrobe has coat hangers, spare blankets and pillows. Cleaners come daily and refresh stocks, change towels upon request and can clean your room. There's onsite laundry service available. The breakfast lasts me the day, fruit yogurt tea coffee honey jams cheese, sweet cakes, various breads and fried eggs. The rooftop lounge looks over the medina in every direction. The owner speaks multiple languages, including excellent English, and is very helpful with restaurants and things to see and do. The whole building is very clean and well maintained, beds are comfortable and linen/ pillows smell clean. It is located in the heart of the touristy area, but down a side alley so nice and quiet. There's a few wifi dead spots but 90% of the place is fine and the wifi was good enough for me to upload 20gb to onedrive

One of the most beautiful Dars with gorgeous historical features we have stayed at in Morocco! The room was extremely spacious and spotlessly clean. The kingsize bed and large towels were very comfy too. Even the attached bathroom felt very spacious. The included breakfast on the beautiful roof terrace was delicious too, and more than plentiful. The staff was very professional and welcoming as well. We liked that they're welcoming and available but also give you your private space. The soundproofing isn't the best, but this is to be expected when staying at any Dar/Riad in Morocco. We highly recommend staying here!

Everything was great

A beautifully restored Riad. We had a very spacious room with 2 queen beds and 2 single beds. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast on the terrace was really good. The laundry was done for us for free. They were very quick at responding to any requests we had. They can arrange a taxi if you need to go anywhere. We had a lot of luggage so they arranged a person who could carry all our suitcases in a cart which was extremely helpful. Although it's in the middle of the bazaar there's no noise inside the Riad.

You have to walk for 5 minutes through the bazaar to get to the hotel. A bit more lighting in the rooms would be nice.

Of the Dars we stayed in for our week-long trip to Morocco, this one was our favorite. We were greeted with mint tea and cookies upon arrival. A great touch! The combination of a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the atrium made it stand out. We especially enjoyed mint tea on the terrace after an afternoon of touring the Medina. If only they had beer! Great view of the Medina up there. We also had breakfast on the terrace. Great start to the day!

Our outside window faced one of the busy Medina streets and it was noisy till late. Like the guidebooks say, it’s a bit hard to find. Google led us astray, however lots of people seemed to know where it was and we found it in no time. Not many restaurant choices—obviously no fault of the Dar.

I was planning on staying one night in Meknes but stayed two, part of the reason was how much I loved this place. (Another is that Meknes was very interesting even though some things are still closed. It was nice to be planted in the heart of medina without a souvenir shop). This riad was the best I stayed at in Morocco and yes that sounds a bit trite given that in so many riad reviews people say it was the best. I stayed in four riads during this trip and this one was indeed superior. Every riad had a great breakfast, but here was better. They all had a nice terrace but here was better. They all had a warm welcome but here was better. The interior design here was better... The list continues. The room was big and what a gorgeous design, it was unique and special. On top of all that this place is an extreme value.

It would be nice to provide a key for the front door though when you knocked it was quickly opened (just prefer not bothering someone to get up and open it)

Everything was great! The room and bathroom were beautiful and clean, with comfortable beds. The house itself was gorgeous. The breakfast was great, and the host was super helpful, waited for us to check in late at night and answered all of our questions.

Everything about the hotel was perfect! The only difficulty we had was to find the place at night, the Medina has so many tiny streets and you can easily get lost, especially at night. But once you know how to find the hotel, it's all good.

Kind staff, beautiful house, good location in the Medina. The roof breakfast was a hit. I love a good view with my coffee.

Wifi often didn't work but it wasn't always the fault of the riad. Repairs took place in the neighborhood. I didn't like that I couldn't pay with my credit card, but it did say that in the mail I got so I can't blame the property for that. But all guests should know that.

Absolutely amazing staff that makes a lot of effort to help you . the place lovely, rooms comfortable and clean ! All the staff I met very friendly . They look after you from the moment you make reservation . They arranged packed breakfast to take with me early in the morning, and helped me a lot with organising transport, having someone bringing me to the taxis in the street. I had a nice chat also. What a wonderful stay!

nothing to say

The location of this property was good. Central and close to the Old Medina attractions. Interesting rooms with second floors and felt clean and authentic. The breakfast was timely, cleaned and pleasant. Rashid, the property manager is kind, accommodating, social and helpful. He guided us well and arranged, tours, taxis and let us stay longer as a courtesy while we were waiting for our ride to Fez. That was exceptional! I am most appreciative of that as no one goes above and beyond like that. They are nice people and would highly recommend this property
