A lovely overnight stay in a beautiful house full of history. We were welcomed by the owner and given a tour of the house and a glimpse into its history as many famous authors have lived and stayed there. The houses decor is an eclectic mix but it makes it a warm and welcoming place. Our room was decorated with many objects which made it feel homely and the bathroom with the standalone bath was very good. The quality of the bedding with a crisp cotton sheet for the warm evening was perfect. Breakfast was good with a large croissant and a baguette with jams and butter - cereals were available and the coffee was very good along with the orange juice. An excellent B&B well worth a visit.

Nothing it was spot on

Loved the owner who was so helpful and full of stories about the history of his home. He is very proud of his home and wants to share his love of it with those who stay with him. This is exactly what it says it is, you are genuinely a guest who is visiting with its owner. It was bitterly cold so didn’t get chance to explore the garden.

There were no coffee making facilities in the room and also no tv or music facility, ended up playing radio on my iPhone. Breakfast was VERY simple, a bit disappointing. It just felt a little like we were being allowed to stay, not that we were paying guests. It is most definitely his home and you are allowed to sleep in your room but the rest of the house you share with the owner and all other guests.

An extremely large detached house set in large grounds near to the canal. Owned by the present family since 1985 and they have accommodation for a small number of guests. Very homely very welcoming good parking central location. The nearby restaurant was full and not accepting our booking but one telephone call from the proprietor who is clearly well connected in the town and a table was available!. Breakfast is typically French affair, and very nice. The house is full of character and survived occupation by the British and other troops in both world wars.

There was nothing to dislike.

Stunning Manoir and gardens with great history and stylish interiors, our bedroom and bathroom were out of this world and the historic canopy bed was dreamy and luxuriantly comfortable.Owner was very helpful and friendly and booked us a meal at short notice and the whole experience was incredible value for money.

A quirky, beautiful building with some amazing pictures and decor. The gardens were lovely but unfortunately it poured with rain so we couldn’t enjoy them. Host was very friendly and arranged dinner for us at a local chateau which was excellent.

This is a very special place. We stayed on a cold night on December and received the very warmest welcome from the owner Didier. He tells wonderful stories about former guests Siegfried Sassoon and Earl Haig. The interiors are filled with a lovely collection of antique furniture, paintings, drawings, and books, all exquisitely arranged. The house, and our room, were impeccably clean. The room was beautifully furnished, and we really appreciated the pristine, monogrammed, thick, white, cotton bedsheets. Gorgeous. Breakfast was beautifully presented with fine china and table linen. Perfect croissants, baguette, home made jam, and fresh juice and coffee. We would love to return in the summer to enjoy the garden and pond that Sassoon loved so much. We highly recommend a stay at this magical place.

Nothing!

The atmosphere is magic like living projected 2 centuries behind all is relaxed and simple with the hosts who are there for any need!

The loft is huge so heating is not really efficient anyway if you can live in fresh room this is for you!

This is a quirky and amazing property with lots of history that Didier, the owner, is happy to tell you about. It is lavishly furnished, with lots of art both collected by Didier and also done by him. The gardens are large with a pleasant walk around the lake with seats to sit and take in the views and wildlife. Plenty of parking onsite and wi-fi is good. The room did not have a kettle or tea/coffee making facilities but you are able to use the kettle in the breakfast room. There is no tv in the room but there is a communal lounge on the ground floor. Breakfast was quite basic, a croissant (butter and selection of jams), yogurt and cereals, and although we went down for breakfast at 8am we saw no one so it was very much self service which is fine but just felt odd not seeing anyone not even Didier. Excellent location, less than an hour from ferries and tunnel.

Was disappointed that check in was moved from 4pm to 5pm. After a long drive we were keen to get settled in before going out for something to eat, as it was we had to detour to Arras so as not to turn up too early. Personally, I think 4pm is a little too late for check in let alone 5pm. It's certainly something I will take note of when booking anywhere again.

A beautiful house with an eclectic mix of furnishings and a fabulous garden !

The village was small with no restaurants so we had to go out in the car to eat.

This is a dreamy place to stay. It’s the second and not the last time we visit. The owner, Didier, is a super host, charming and knowledgeable, he always makes us feel we are in a home away from home. Would absolutely recommend this “Zen” house, something really special about it.
