Room was clean and appeared to have been quite recently renovated. Fridge and TV in room. Small guest kitchen which was great for preparing breakfasts. Staff were very friendly and upgraded me to a better room on arrival. Bathrooms were shared but were clean and I never had to wait. Good pub downstairs. There was some music on Friday and Saturday nights but it didn't go on too late.

Room was a bit cold as the heating wasn't very effective and the balcony door let a draught in. We were a little concerned about parking outside as there was a pile of glass in the car park that looked as though a car had recently been broken into. But our car was OK whilst we were there so maybe break ins aren't common.

The in-house food was great, the staff were really friendly, most guests were respectful. Facilities were great, like showers and a kitchen (although some guests apparently don't know how to wash dishes properly). The kitchen had a microwave and kettle, and free *instant* coffee and tea. My room (4) was great, bed was very comfortable. The room had a TV, a mini fridge, a desk, and an air conditioner/heater. The room led straight outside to a balcony where you can sit and relax and enjoy the Kalgoorlie skyline. During the day when I wasn't working I would sit in the bar and have great conversations with the bartenders and Kalgoorlie residents. They showed both AFL and NRL on the many TVs in the bar. Sometimes there would be a live band/artist playing music which I enjoyed very much. The location is very convenient. Most things you need for a quick trip are within walking distance, like restaurants, Woolies/Coles, and the Visitor Centre.

The only real bummer was the Wifi doesn't reach upstairs where the rooms are, you have to use it in the bar downstairs which is useless at night time. But nonetheless, if you're staying for a couple of days it ain't that bad, I was there for a month. The music they play in the bar can get a bit loud if you're trying to sleep early.

Honestly I have been to a few different hotels in Kalgoorlie but this one definitely stands out from the rest by the way the rooms are, the location it is based at and staff that work there all exceeded my expectations, their rooms that are there are impeccable and the beds are extremely comfy and well presented and well taken care of, I 120% recommend staying here over any other hotel in Kalgoorlie and hope you have the privilege of staying there yourself, you will not regret it. Best hotel rooms in Kalgoorlie, hands down. 💯👑

Honestly just a bit of easier access to the balcony from outside would be awesome but other than that, I couldn’t get a more perfect hotel even if I tried

Ben and Leah were exceptional. My young daughter was on her first trip away solo. She got disoriented and also left her phone charger at home 7 hours away in Perth. They helped her with everything including booking the train back, taxi transfers, getting into the room late due to train delays and referring her to another reputable 2nd night stay @ short notice.

Nothing really - shared bathroom not ideal but that’s standard.

I loved the fantastic menu and superb Chief. The bar staff friendly and attentive, a nice touch of Irish behind the bar a class act. A character Hotel but a touch of modern were needed. Enjoyed my stay, and no hesitation I will be heading to the Federal when in Kalgoorlie next trip. Travel around WA with my line of work and This Hotel is amongst the best.

That I could have stayed longer.

Very comfortable space for what I paid. Location was quiet and generally pleasant, but not so far from amenities/shops that I couldn't walk. The small number of rooms meant there were not too many guests at any one time, making the shared bathroom space more than sufficient.

The rooms are all upstairs, and the stairs themselves felt slightly uneven at times. It's not a serious problem, but be sure to use the hand rail! Having to use a shared bathroom wasn't ideal, but to be expected given the cost of the room.

room was comfy for the 2 night stay and small tea/coffee room available. The bathroom facilities were ok but drainage seems to be a problem after several people had used the showers, ie. water all over bathroom floor.

Entertainment from TV was null and void in room one....... no antennae cable fitted and appears has never been connected compared to room 2. No milk or water in the bar fridge but enquiry to staff member sorted problem.

This hotel is in the process of being renovated and refurbished after apparently being in a state of abandonment. The new owners have done a magnificent job in getting it to its current functional state. They are still working on the kitchen and bar and no doubt these areas will be as good as what has already been achieved in their accommodation areas. The room and especially the bed were very comfortable. All areas such as a communal kitchen with a sink, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities, and the shared toilet/bathroom were clean and modern.

As this stay was the first night of paying customers, there were things that were still not quite finished, but no doubt will be as soon as practicable. One thing being that there were no power points to plug in the provided lamp or somewhere to recharge a personal device.

This hotel is exceptional value for money. The room was very clean with everything we needed including fresh milk in the mini fridge, and a very comfortable bed. There was direct access onto a large shared balcony with a planked wooden floor and iron railings, full of character !! There is ample off road parking, an easy walk to town centre, and was quiet at night for sleeping

This property is being redeveloped at the moment and as a result there is no bar or restaurant, nor as far as I am aware any overnight staff. It is probably better thought off in its current condition as a good quality hostel. The rooms are really comfortable and clean as are the communal washrooms. I would like to wish the owners all the very best in the continued refurbishment of this property; if the rest of the work is done to the same standard as that already completed it will be top notch when it's finished However, even as it is it is excellent value for money and we would have stayed a second night if it hadn't been booked out

Well-presented room and shared bathroom. Air-con quickly cooled the room from the 40 degrees outside. Appreciate the small fridge in the room to cool water and other drinks. Sunset and sunrise views from the balcony. Although I came by train, the building does provide shaded parking in the afternoon for those driving.

Not having air-con at home, it took me several minutes to turn-on the air-con, and I'm not sure which button in the panel did it. So, some instructions would be helpful.
