A grand and beautiful property with lovely decor and details in spectacular surroundings . The attention to detail in both the interiors and the terraces as well as the garden is impressive. This is a dreamy place to stay. The food is delicious!

We had a superior room with sea view - it was tiny with very little space for luggage, it became quite stuffy and smelled of carpet, the bathroom was also tiny with a shower curtain rather than a shower wall. A lot of the staff were young and seemed inexperienced, often unsmiling and appearing rather snobby. A number of the ( native Danish) staff were unable to understand Norwegian or Swedish, preferring to speak bad English instead. There were several mistakes made during dinner service each day, and the service was very slow - causing scenes of outrage amongst a number of guests one of the evenings we were there, we would have overlooked all of this but for the price point of this place the expectations of service are higher.

The place is very cozy. The staff were extremely friendly and tried to make anything happen for us. We had different room types and all of them were freshly renovated. Cool sauna with sea view with the possibility to jump into the sea afterwards. Also the food was incredible, the had a limited menu as it was opening weekend so we tried literally the whole menu and everything was delicious.

The pre-booking phase was not ideally as response were sometimes automated or did not come with the requested information, but when we entered the hotel everything was perfect.

The hotel was the perfect place for a few days on the Danish Riviera. It was very well located on the cliff above the beach and had an excellent view. There was a large dining room and several lounges where one could sit in comfortable chairs and relax or read - it had a warm atmosphere and felt like a nice home. The food was good - the breakfast buffet was simple, ample and healthy - at dinner we particularly liked the cod and mashed potato - beautifully cooked and delicious. We would definitely come back to the same hotel.

We had a ground floor room opening onto a little terrace and the garden - it was charming but quite small and only just big enough for us and our luggage. On Sunday afternoon and evening the bar and dining room was closed and all the staff left - the hotel felt like the Marie Celeste and we had to go out into the town for dinner, where the two or three restaurants closed between 8 and 9 pm. Admittedly it was only 21st April before the real tourist season.

Exceptional location. Charming main house, terrace overlooking the sea, beautiful gardens.

Food ok, but somewhat disappointing. Stayed two nights, and the menu was more or less identical both nights - just the protein changed from fish to chicken. Breakfast options were quite limited, definitely below expectations. Staff friendly, but appeared a bit junior/inexperienced. The last touch was missing.

Breakfast was perfect as were all the meals. The service was excellent. The staff was exceptional. The subtle Christmas atmosphere was lovely.but skip the stale American Christmas music. The only jarring note.

We did not care for the American Christmas music at breakfast. The atmosphere was lovely with just candles and beautifully set tables. The stale music detracted from that. Why is music necessary when you eat?

We love the atmosphere of the hotel. The decoration is elegant and relaxed. The rooms were cosy and the beds comfortable. The most amazing part is the view on the sea and the sunset at night. I also highly recommend their restaurant.

Bathrooms are very simple and could be slightly more comfortable. It lacks still and sparkling water in the rooms.

Breakfast was simple, but with local, organic, high quality ingredients. I loved it! Homemade cinnamon rolls were to die for!

Rooms were on the smaller side, so it is complicated if you are traveling with large suitcases, like we did. Bed was comfy. Room lighting was a bit too dim

Everything was beautiful, clean and cozy. There were several rooms inside to chill out, in large sofas and cozy chairs and you could see the sea. Outside there were several places to be, area where you can sit in shadow of the trees if this is needed and areas where you can sit on sunchairs and enjoy the sun and the seaview and there is also a terasse where you can order hot and cold drinks and get served meals. The staff is smiling and friendly and ready to help. There is an air of "casual luxury" over the place, something between the Danish TV-serie "Badehotellet" and the English serie "Hotel Portofino" :-). And no TV's anywhere, so one can really relax.

Helenekilde is such a peaceful oasis, where, even during the main season, you will find a calm spot at any given time. The dinner was excellent and all staff super lovely and kind. The location, right by the sea, is a dream and it’s only a short walk from the town center, although you won’t find much reason to leave Helenekilde.

Amazing location, wonderful food, very cozy village and interesting guests. Been at the hotel before and we really like it.

The personel of the hotel were below average in their customer awareness. Really something that needs to change. The service in the restaurant very friendly but they were not of the level of the quality of the food.
