Beautiful room with modern bathroom and aircon. Comfortable large bed and excellent restaurant next door. Great breakfast. With excellent choice of hot and cold buffet. Restaurant staff were great.

No water in the room, no mini bar, even though the blurb in the room said there was both. Had to go down to reception to fill up a bottle. Reception staff didn’t offer this on arrival. Tea and coffee in the room was instant and poor quality. Other hotels of the same look have had coffee machines in each room. Non iron or board.

The room could have been a little bigger so that two chairs could be used to relax without sitting on the bed, it was very nicely finished. Breakfast had a large choice and coffee was good. The restaurant area is a stunning room and our evening meal was very nice. Staff were all engaging and pleasant. 👌🏻

It’s a pity Bourges is pretty much shut on a Sunday and Monday evening where restaurants are concerned, so it would have been very helpful if the bar area in the hotel could offer something a little more interesting and substantial than the tapas boards they do on a Sunday evening (the restaurant is shut on that day).

the hotel and garden was amazing and just a short walk to the old town. Staff on reception were great and the barman was very helpful and happy.

The hotel do not own or run the restaurant which was VERY disappointing. The menu board outside the restaurant shows a full range of meals suiting all tastes. One of our party only eats chicken and this was displayed on the menu so we booked a table. On arrival at the allotted time we were surprised to find that the menu was a shortened version but it included; entrecôte, a small entrecôte, steak Tartare or 'fish of the day' this is not really a choice and when I asked for some flexibility we were told Non! We therefore had the embarrasing choice to suck-it-up or walk. We walked!

Lovely hotel and comfy bed. Quiet and relaxing. Great staff friendly and efficient.

Bit surprised the draft beer on offer at the bar was Heineken I was expecting something French. Also the parking situation wasn’t great as seems some guests with fancy cars take more than one space and perhaps other vehicles are people visiting the restaurant? Either way both nights I stayed there were issues with parking and hotel guests should be allocated and guaranteed a reserved car park space.

A very pleasant hotel in an historic building with a small, pretty garden which provides an atmospheric outside seating and bar area for warm evenings, and a wonderfully quirky and dramatic dining room in the former chapel. It is well placed right next to the splendid Prés Fichaux Garden, less than ten minutes’ walk from the old centre of the town, and about five from the railway station. The staff are charming and did their best to help when a local train strike threatened to delay my arrival. The rooms are comfortable, the scrambled eggs at breakfast particularly good.

The room had many mod cons yet the hair dryer could not be plugged in conveniently close to a mirror.

Beautiful building, well located and with local charm. The lobby entrance was nice and cozy with a little bar for relaxing. The hotel restaurant was quite nice for breakfast, gorgeous dining room. Sadly it was closed for Sun night dinner but the reception still provided me with some walkable recommendations which was nice and thoughtful. The room was nice, comfortable and as one would expect from the Mercure brand. I had a quite sleep for sure. Also really appreciated the onsite parking which was secure and helpful.

Well located not too far from the motorway for an overnight stay. Beautiful old building, a former abbey, sympathetically modernised, with a spectacular dining room in the former chapel. Delicious evening meal and a good selection at breakfast. Pleasant staff equally happy to communicate in English or French.

This was our second visit to the Hotel for an overnight stop en-route to the South. It really is a delightful hotel with ample private parking, lovely gardens and bar. It is ideally located and the Old Town is very interesting and historic. Fabulous 13c Cathedral.

A large proportion of the restaurants were closed though some opened at 7.30. Alternative 'pub-food' establishments were not of great quality and the one restaurant we found last year that was terrific was closed because of street works! The hotel restaurant was not open. We concluded last year that the town was struggling to recover from Covid and that did not appear to have changed.

There is a stunning restaurant on site. Not run by the hotel but you can charge to your room. Eat there it is well worth it. Great location and very friendly team.

The team could not book the restaurant for us we had to go on line to do so. Seemed a bit silly.

second time stayed here while coming back from Spain with my Dog .. really good with the dog he can be in all areas and a large area outside for him to roam about , there is a park across the road which is great .

8.50 for large Beer is a little steep
