I liked the facilities, although we would have had to pay £15 per person extra for using the pool which we were not aware of prior to arrival. This is due to having booked through Booking.com. If we had booked directly with the hotel the pool would have been in included. If we had been there for 48 hours it would have been worth the fee, but sadly the reception manager said she could not discount this fee! This was disappointing. Instead we were advised to see if we had enough time to use this facility and de ode in the morning! All staff we encountered in the hotel were super friendly and very helpful! Well done.

The prices for some of the drinks seemed steep. An aperol spritz cost £12 which I believe is above average. The Sri Lankan curry option seemed expensive as adding chicken was an additionnel £5 yet there was very little chicken on the plate. The curry was tasty but it still felt a disappointing meal despite the aluminium tower it was presented in! Breakfast was a little chaotic as there was no fruit juice when I looked and the cooked food was also very depleted. The staff who were there worked hard to look after the needs of the guests.

Staff at the hotel are all really attentive, but staff in Restaurant and bar were totally awesome! Went above and beyond for us. We stayed for 2 nights with dinner one night and breakfast both mornings.

Its not that I didnt like it, but the last time we stayed the breakfast was fully table service like dinner, which made you feel very special. Its now a buffet service, which is ok, its what most hotels do. Only issue we had was that on the unit where the hot food was placed, when you were moving around with your plate, there wasnt anywhere to put the lid to the dish when you were serving yourself.

The rooms were nice, clean & had tea & coffee facilities. We particularly liked that you could get fresh milk & cold water from the corridor & there was a fridge in the room to store it in. The bed was also super comfy!

Some staff were great - really helpful & friendly. However, other staff, particularly those in the restaurant, appeared to lack experience. A group of us went for a meal & asked for a few extra things such a spoon & some bread for our children & they didn't know the answers to the things we asked for or they forgot to get them, which became quite frustrating.

its a shame you have changed the breakfast since i last stayed in december.to change to buffet style was a real disappointment as the vegetarian sausages have changed(sorry,but they were not good).i preferred ordering and food was cooked/served fresh.i found the buffet was tepid warm or congealed.for a quality hotel is it wrong to expect better than premier inn etc?i am not a person who complains and submits negativity when leaving reviews, but it took the shine off my stay

The location was very nice, easy to get to. The hotel itself was a lovey building. Some have said the interior is dated which I agree with but it was lovely and clean. Our evening meal in the restaurant was fantastic. The venison pie was the best I had ever had. The service in the restaurant was simply outstanding.

I was a little disappointed that there were no loungers available for us when we went to the spa. There were people sleeping in the loungers who I understand are regulars, so this felt a little unfair. We go 1 lounger around 2 hours into our session. The pool also was very cold. Some regulars mentioned that the pool is normally warmer so this is the reason for the score. The spa was very clean and the staff were delightful.

It is a lovely hotel with a fabulous outdoor space. This was very useful on a hot July day. Our room was on the ground floor and a little noisy due to the main road. But that can’t be helped and the air conditioning was very effective. There is a Spa with a lovely pool but we didn’t use it maybe next time! The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Dinner service was quite slow and the food could have been better and was expensive. Slightly dated bathroom with a slippy bath. I recommend a mat.

The staff were really helpful and the thought and detail that goes into a family stay is great. The breakfast is lovely with lots of options to suit everybody including the children. Comfy beds, spacious room and the children's sofa beds were very comfy (not an afterthought of a z bed like some hotels) the little treats for the kids and robes etc were a lovely touch. The decor is a little dated but more than made up for it with the comfort, cleanliness and great staff.

The extra £30 charge to use the spa as we had booked through a third party site and not directly meant we did not use the swimming pool - gutted

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and very clean. There were fluffy robes and slippers, the towels were thick and soft. The tea and coffee in the rooms were good quality and fresh milk was available from a dispenser in the corridor, much nicer than those little plastic pots of milk. The breakfast was delicious with loads of choice. The restaurant was on a reduced menu as our visit was in the Christmas period but the food was delicious.

Nothing to dislike.

Full English Breakfast - superb. Loved it. Staff are very pleasant, polite & welcoming. Loads of parking. Ideal location next to the busy A14. Excellent wholesome meals so no need to pop out (Kettering) into the cold looking for a decent restaurant.

Not soo much the hotel but more a criticism of Booking.com - I travel a lot on business & mostly book thru Booking.com. Always with breakfast & yet when I arrive at the hotel - I'm told breakfast is extra!! Why?

Impressed with the fridge in the room and the fresh milk dispenser on each landing. Buffet breakfast expansive and well prepared. Also ate in the bar with pleasing results. Easy walk to Wicksteed Park for the moderately fit.

Unfortunately we booked through an agent so the leisure facilities were an extra cost but inclusive to those booking direct with the hotel. Also the food for the family gathering could have been better.
