From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel's modern and clean appearance. The lobby exuded a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive right from the start. One of the standout features of this hotel is the comfort of its beds. After a long day of traveling, sinking into the plush mattress felt like a dream. The linens were of high quality, and I had a restful night's sleep throughout my stay. The bathroom in my room was a real highlight. It was spacious, modern, and well-equipped. The sleek design and attention to detail were evident, and I couldn't help but appreciate the convenience of having everything I needed at my fingertips. While the bathroom was fantastic overall, I couldn't help but imagine how perfect it would have been with a ceiling shower head. The layout seemed ideal for such an addition, and it would have taken the shower experience to another level. Another notable feature of the room was the modern kitchenette. It was stocked with all the necessary equipment, making it easy to prepare simple meals or snacks. This thoughtful addition added a level of convenience to my stay that I greatly appreciated. The hotel's parking spaces were comfortable and ample, providing a hassle-free experience for guests with vehicles. I particularly liked the fact that parking was not a concern during my stay. One of the standout highlights of my stay was the included breakfast. The spread was excellent, offering a variety of options to cater to different tastes. The quality of the food was impressive, and it provided a great start to each day of my stay. For families traveling with children, the availability of a children's playground is a definite plus. It's a thoughtful touch that adds to the hotel's family-friendly atmosphere.

The hotel only had one elevator, which sometimes resulted in longer waiting times, especially during peak hours when all guests were trying to use it simultaneously. Additionally, the hotel's restaurant only served breakfast. While the breakfast was excellent, it would have been convenient to have the option of dining in for lunch or dinner. However, I found it easy to explore the surrounding area for dining options, so this wasn't a major inconvenience. Lastly, while the hotel's location was not an issue for me due to having a car, it is worth noting that it is a bit far from Legoland. However, with a vehicle, this distance wasn't a critical factor and didn't detract from the overall positive experience.

- Room was reasonably spacious, with a comfy bed. - Easy parking outside hotel. - Room had kitchen, although we did have to go to the reception to request a key to access the kitchen accessories. - Very close to supermarket. - As mentioned, the breakfast buffet was superb! Probably the best we've ever had! - Nice bathroom with good shower.

- Check-in was a bit messy. Everything we had from Booking.com was for 2 people, but the hotel were only expecting 1 person. - As my wife had broken her leg, we had requested a room with a veranda. Our room did have one, but completely inaccessible from the room or outside! - We were given only one keycard, which was fine but the electricity went off when it was removed. Not good as my wife was immobile. When I requested a second card, I was told there weren't any. After a bit of huffing, a card was removed from another guest's check-in card! - Couldn't get the aircon to work, and couldn't be bothered going down to reception yet again.

We stayed at Hotel Sonnenhof for a stopover night on the way to the snow. A new hotel with very good facilities and friendly staff. The room was very comfortable with a good bed and bathroom. The breakfast was great and full range of hot and cold food in a nice dining area. Location was great with off street parking outside the hotel and a supermarket next door. We had a staff member recommend a restaurant for dinner within walking distance. We will definitely use this hotel to stopover on our trips to the snow every season. And the price for our family of four was very reasonable. We left fully refreshed and ready for skiing.

We had nothing to complain about or consider negative about our stay.

The room with kitchenette was spot on choise, as the restaurant services in this small town are a bit scarce. Edeka supermarket is directly beneath the hotel so finding food to cook is easy. Room was roomy, very tidy and comfortable. Very good breakfast. Good parking facilities.

You had to get the key for kitchen separately, which was a bit odd. I would have hoped for small dining table at the room. Microwave would have been perfect. Navicating to the hotel was a bit difficult, as the hotel is uphill, behind another building and thefore a bit difficult to spot from the street from car.

The room was really well equipped and had a lovely little kitchenette with a fridge, a small cooker and even some dishes. The breakfast buffet was also very well presented. The hotel also had a great playground for the kids. It's the perfect place to stop over or to discover the region (e.g. Legoland) for a few days.

For children who are too old to sleep in a cot, but too young to sleep in a completely unprotected bed, there could be some kind of protection for the sofa bed.

The hotel is honestly perhaps the cleanest hotel I have ever been. On top there is a big variety in the breakfast including healthy products for parents and kids. It is around 10 km away from Legoland. I also liked the decoration a lot in the lobby of the hotel when you can really relax and have a drink. The rooms are very clean and with comfortable beds and fully renovated bathrooms. There’s also a little area where kids can play, including a trampoline.

we love this hotel! we been there last year and came back again this year! a very good value for money! an Amazing breakfast and very good location! the room is very good and very comfortable! bathroom is very spacious and the shower is great! This year they even upgraded (as my 8 year old son put it) with an great Trampoline for the kids! during our stay our daughter had her birthday, and what was our surprise to come down for breakfast and have a specially decorated birthday table for us! the kids were over the moon happy! the feeling is that they thrive to be the best 3* hotel of all and end up being better than many 4*!

If I have to say anything I just wish they had a pool (I know it’s not their focus though)

Very modern, kitchen with a fridge, large bathroom and the air conditioning is essential during summer season! There is a children’s playroom upstairs and breakfast buffet choices is extensive and everything is always refilled. Reception staff speaks fluent English and very polite all the time. This is our 4th time at Burgau Hotel Sonnenhof. We like it because it’s only 10-15mins drive to Legoland and 1 min walk to Edeka shop.

Pillows too flat / not firm enough for a side sleeper. Sofa bed was somewhat uncomfortable and very squeaky, maybe needs to be oiled? Floors could be mopped thoroughly. Whole of 1st floor has the same type of rooms but we always end up in room 117 - not sure why?! NON hotel guests can reserve tables to eat breakfast buffet but unsure if hotel guests could do the same too? Just seems like paid hotel guests aren’t prioritised in this situation. Prices aren’t cheap to stay here.

I have liked several things, such as the overall cleanness of the room which was also well equipped with modern appliances. The bathroom was also spotless clean and larger, with a huge shower cabin. The breakfast was also fabulous as it had huge choice of what to choose and eat raging from some local specialties to general international breakfast. There were also lots of fruits and vegetable choices, various types of bread specialties, cookies, tarts etc. There were also a lot of available parking spots right at the location which was a good extra if you arrive there with your car. The location is also nice, the city is quiet, plenty of things to see and you also have a supermarket shop next to the hotel.

The kindness of all the personnel. I forgot a bag in the room when I left the hotel and they kindly sent it back to me. The breakfast is really good and complete. Rooms are very new, nice and clean.
