The setting was nice in the unspoiled French countryside. It is a foster farm with many different animals we were able to pet and interact with. The host was charming and friendly. He spoke zero English but happily resorted to google translate. Watch for a text shortly prior to arrival with some welcome words and the gate code. The food was good. The price was excellent.

The bed was firm but we slept well anyway. Not luxurious, more like rural and rustic. Entirely adequate.

While traveling through France to our summer destination in Spain, we did a overnight stop in a farm in Chevigny Region. The owner remolded his barn into family rooms and received us, like he was receiving his own family. Kids could play (feed and clean) the animals, we gather fresh chicken eggs (it was still warm!!), and he gave homemade baguette and cheese! Just with a single detail: Monsieur couldn’t speak a single word in English -we did all the exchange using Google translate ! He asked us if you could cancel the trip to Spain and stay with him. ❤️ It was tempting. We said our goodbyes with the promise to go back there! I wish more touching souls experience like this one for our world today. Full of gentleness and kindness. I was in deep need of that. Mercie !

We had to leave the place.

The property was like a little oasis after nine hours travelling in the car. Our kids loved visiting the various animals in their pens while the cabin-styled room itself was spacious for a family of five. The highlight however was the personal touch of the owner, who was on hand to welcome us, and serve dinner.

Maybe the wifi could have been better but it was a minor quibble. Nothing else that I can think of.

The owner and family and his unique set up In the middle of beautiful countryside . They’re welcome and how he came out to meet us on the road when we couldn’t find the entrance . Loved the wood in the bedrooms crafted by the owner and its eclectic style . So unique .

We loved it all .

The owners were extremely helpful and the menagerie was interesting. But the stay was fun and google translate was tested to its limits. Would stay again

Gaining access was quite complicated as we did not receive SMS messages in time. An image of the entrance gate would also assist as our GPS was confused.

A magical place to stop over - fabulous countryside, comfy accommodation (the beds were amazing) and beautifully designed room and bathroom. Superb breakfast with home-made produce. Will definitely return if we are in this neck of the woods again. Thanks for being a great host.

Nothing at all, we had a great stopover.

If you want peace and quiet, this is the ideal place for you. Tranquil, with stunning views, a very comfortable room and lots of outdoor seating space. We hadn't realised quite how remote Chevigny is and when we asked our host, Thierry, about local restaurants he explained that there was nothing really close by. Instead, he proposed that we visit the fruitiere in the village where we could buy some Comte cheese and he provided eggs, bread and tomatoes and we were able to prepare what turned out to be a mini feast (the fruitiere also sells butter, pate and some charcuterie) in the guest kitchen. Breakfast was excellent with one of the biggest selections of home-made jams we have ever encountered. This is definitely on our list of places to return to.

We had a wonderful stay in this rural idyll. The kids loved playing with the puppies and seeing the goats, sheep, donkeys, horses etc. Beautiful gardens and hanging chairs meant we spent a lovely lazy evening reading and relaxing while drinking in the beautiful views. Plenty of games and equipment to keep kids busy outside. The family room has been lovingly crafted out of wood and stone and is a comfortable, roomy and quiet place to rest. It even stayed cool despite temperatures in the low 30s outside. We all slept really well. Lovely evening meal and breakfast with lots of delicious local products. Generous host. Thank you.

Nice location 7 km from the cycling route and a very nice host. Being cyclists, it is very nice to finish the day with a location where dinner is served and breakfast supplied. Here,it was done very tasteful with many local products like jambon, marmelade and cheese. I recommend this place for cyclists especially..

A quirky rural idyll providing the perfect pet-friendly break en route to the south of France. Surrounded by fields and woods, this is not the place to come if you are looking for fancy restaurants and an exciting night life (which we were not). You feel as if you are miles from anywhere (which you are) but in the capable hands of proprietors who are at one with the land, lovers of animals (they have 9 beautiful dogs, many goats and foster a number of children from deprived backgrounds).

Accessing our bedroom directly from the breakfast area was less than ideal but not a major issue for us
