Stayed for the proximity to the Park and the trail but got the extra added experience to stay in the old town look of the property. The rooms were definitely not old but clean, comfortable and worthy of a few nights stay. I experienced working AC that kept the room very comfortable. In room mini fridge that was great for keeping drinks and snacks cold along with wifi that worked across the property. The grounds were kept up very well with flowers, birds and squirrels all around the property. Ice machine is out near the pool (and works). The pool was clean and had plenty of chairs for a relaxing time after a long day in the heat and sun. Great experience and a wonderful stay

Just a note. Shoes need to be worn when walking along the wooden stairs and balconies. Not from just the heat but from the worn look the property is showcasing from an old town prospective. (Not a show stopper)

good location=can walk to Visitor Center for Anza Borrenga St park=several nice choices for dining in town=pool and jacuzzi very nice= towels provided for the pool=had a balcony room=did not eat at the restaurant on the property=but had a beer and enjoyed the band playing on a friday and saturday night=Western theme was cute=the buildings looked like a western town==staff very nice=ice machine on the property=had a pleasant stay==would recommend

using the key card was difficult==had to swipe several times for green light to come on to open door= shower area could use a handle bar=even thought tub was not high=would have been a nice safety feature

The hotel designed to look like a historic western town was fun and seemingly accurate. The room was very clean and had a great view (2nd floor looking out to the desert). The pool and jacuzzi were clean and very enjoyable. The location near town and adjacent to the state park was great.

The hotel had been open only a week for the beginning of the season and subsequently there was still some maintenance issues being corrected (lights for the picnic/bar-be-cue area). The air conditioner in the room while very effective was loud when trying to sleep. Being on the corner of two major roads created some disturbing highway noise but wasn't much traffic so it was tolerable.

We travel to Borrego Springs, CA, in springtime to enjoy the desert. We always choose to stay at Palm Canyon Hotel. It is convenient to everything in the area, it's a wonderful facility with great staff. Rooms are large and comfortable. We enjoy the jacuzzi in the evening after a long day of hiking and exploring. There is also a beautiful heated pool to enjoy. Great for all ages. There's a restaurant and bar on premises with entertainment on the weekend. Fresh free coffee in the morning. Perfect!

The location and atmosphere was the highlight of the hotel. It was easy to find, and hard to miss with the design of the buildings. The staff was noticeably prompt, attentive, and polite. The property was always clean. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. All the amenities available were to our liking. I even appreciated the two locations of the pool and jacuzzis, so that it was less crowded. I also liked the fact that there was a decent restaurant on the premises as well.

Not much. I just wish our room had a little more lighting as nighttime was a bit dark. Also, I wish the Big Horn restaurant also served breakfast, or at least the hotel would provide breakfast options.

Very large rooms. Exceptionally friendly staff. Large pool and hot tub (2). Very clean room. This is a cute old western themed motel right at the end of town. Beautiful views from every room. We have stayed here many times and it never disappoints.

Although the bed was a bit stiff, this is of course a personal preference. It took a while for the AC to cool down the room since it was 105 outside, but normal in that climate.

The room was extra spacious and authentic feeling. The property was lovely to walk around, interesting to be in and the restaurant was a great place to meet friends. The staff was very helpful and rolled with my misunderstanding of the room rate.

I was unhappy with the price I paid; It seemed excessive. I had come expecting to camp and looked for a last minute place to stay during windy weather. My hasty decision cost me.

I stay at this hotel whenever I'm in Borrego Springs. It is quiet and well maintained. Everything in the room worked. The staff is always pleasant. It's convenient, but far enough away from the Christmas Circle (about 2 miles) to be away from the noise & crowds. Yet, it's near the wild flower areas. Dog friendly. Though I've always stayed in a room, there are vintage Airstreams for rent.

One small trash can for the whole room. The swing on the A/C is too wide (but typical for hotels). Some of the electric outlets are getting a bit worn. Pet fee is a bit high if staying for more than a day or two. Very limited menu at the on-site burger joint - which is really just a counter.

I loved the old western town facade on all the rooms and the western saloon at the Palm Canyon Hotel, even the walkways were large planks like they used back then. Our double queen room was HUGE and had a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The pool was warm and the jacuzzi was hot. They paid attention to small details there, even the landscape gravel was raked smooth throughout the day. I liked how the lights outside each of the rooms had a beautiful orange glow which allowed you to stargaze.

A few of the planks and sidewalk areas needed to be repaired but it looked like they were in the process since cones were up to warn guests.

The location is great - close to the Visitor Center and Borrego Springs downtown. The staff is very nice and friendly. We went to their restaurant and they were so accommodating in making soda floats for my kids off menu. They have a burger/snack restaurant in the lobby and a bar - both of these areas have attached outdoor seating. The lobby has a good little store with beverages/snacks, clothes, souvenirs, and items for RV users. The whole facility looks and feels very clean, indoors and outside. Yes, a few areas look a little aged, but if the place is clean, I don’t mind. The Old West theme is cute and gives it more of a family friendly feel. Their pools are heated, so the kids had a blast playing in the pool after our long hike that day, while I enjoyed stargazing. There is convenient parking right in front of rooms. Although I didn’t take advantage of the facilities, they have a decent gym and laundry room.

Both the front and the balcony doors in our room kept getting stuck, so they were hard to open most of the time, but this was a very minor nuisance.
