Nicely located with great proximity to dining, shopping, and main strip. The room was clean and one of only a small few with two separate beds in a room for two friends traveling together. It had a frig, microwave, coffee maker, and blow dryer. The staff were exceptional and very helpful. There was great late check-in communication and instructions. The beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

I didn't care much for the stairs especially with the rain, but they are totally manageable even with luggage (I had a small carry-on roller bag). Really needs lighting by the closet. It was quite hard to see anything in that corner section of the room.

We love the location, we are able to just walk to Main Street from the property which is super convenient,the staff were great, super helpful and attentive, the dresser with the mirrors and the refrigerator door was really cool looking and we love the fact that the property has been around for so long , giving it character.

The smell of the room was very musky smelling, and there was no enough lighting in the room. It was quite dark in the dresser/refrigerator/coffee pot area. It was hard to see how much water we were putting in the coffee machine and it was hard to see in the dresser mirror (I was trying to do my makeup).

It is always a nice visit when Mr.Jeff is working the front desk. He makes us feel welcome and we always want to return. When we arrived our room was ready and we were able to check in right away. When it was time to check out we got to meet the new GM Elaine who was very cheerful and friendly. (Great improvement from former GM). We are excited to see the progress that will be happening in the near future. We hope to be spending more time during the holiday season and enjoy seeing cats back on the property...even if they are not roaming around but sitting at the windowsill to 'talk' to.

The King Suite is really big at 799 sq. feet! It's actually an ADA compliant room! They have upgraded the furniture with a new couch and coffee table, and 2 wing chairs with matching ottomans. It's always VERY clean. The bed is comfy, and there are plenty of pillows! Yay! We really like the staff there. They are always warm, welcoming and do their best to accommodate any requests. We had a friend come up for the day and they let her park at the lodge for free. Plus, we arrived earlier than check-in time and not only did they text us when our room was ready and let us park there, but when we needed to use the restroom, gave us a key to the private restroom facilities in the nearby office building. We love that the main street is a short walk away and the best Italian restaurant around is also a short walk from the room! Plus the added bonus of the staff dog is usually on campus. I think the thing that impresses me most is that they are always striving to improve.

I do miss the tables in the lobby where we could meet up with friends and play a game over a cup of coffee or hang out and chat with the staff when it's slow. It lost a little of its homey feeling without them. A couple of suggestions for improvement in the King Suite would be to add a larger table to seat 4, a little bit of a counter top at the sink for room for some toiletries, a soap dish, and a place to hang a washcloth by the sink. It would also be helpful to have a little shelf in the shower for soap, shampoo, etc. and some counter space in the mini kitchen area so you can have a place to stir your coffee, set a paper plate, etc. These are definitely NOT game changers for us, though, because we like it there so much.

We always stay at the Julian Lodge whenever we visit Julian. We are always happy to see our favorite hotel clerk, Mr.Jeff. We usually get the Double Double Room but it was not available so we stayed in the King Suite. WOW! It was very nice and large! It is about 40' x 25' in size not including the huge bathroom. This room has a King Size bed on one side and a sofa bed on the other side; in between there is a small kitchen area (sink, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer.) There is also a little area in the middle with 2 nice chairs w/ ottomans and a table to sit and watch TV. There are 2 entrances to the room; one from the hallway and from the outside. It was really comfortable and nice since each side has their own heater. (This is important in the winter months when it can get pretty cold in Julian.) This room would be fine for a family or group of friends; since it is clean and carpeted--if you had a sleeping bag you could sleep on the floor too. This is an excellent room and the staff is very accommodating if you need any extra sheets or blankets.

Everything was great! I know that the King Suite costs more and we were there during a busier time but I will definitely check and see if the cost is less during the off season if we have plans to stay up in Julian.

As usual, we stay at the lodge because we like Mr.Jeff...he is so kind and always has nice things to say. We'll always choose the lodge as our first choice as long as Mr.Jeff is there. We enjoy going to the shops around the area and like the convenience of parking our vehicle and knowing that it's safe.

We miss the 'big table' in the lobby area where we used to gather and meet other guests. We have not seen anyone sitting in the 'new' room...it doesn't have the same Julian 'historic' homey feeling. Bella, the husky was not very friendly and barked a lot at my daughter. We miss the friendly cats that used to be there. I hope Bella gets friendlier as she gets older.

I love that it has the old time country feel. We come back here because they keep it the same. In a great way. So we always get that same happy feeling every time we come. On e bummer is they took the coffee and creamers out/away. After our drive and check in, we always looked ed forward to sipping on that warm coffee in the front ...was one of our favorite things at check In we looked forward too. Hope its just a temporary change and u bring it back. We loved that. It's one of the reasons we always stay here. We love u keep it the same so we know we get the same comfortable cozy pine country feeling when we come. Hope no other changes are happening and coffee greetings come back, because we love this place as it's always been. Country, cozy, and friendly. Hallways are Very hot. Could use some a/c in there in the summer. Wish ALL the rooms came w little fridges and microwaves...would be really nice and more convenient to have. Especially since it's $$$$ to stay here and in jukian already...it would really help. Be a game changer of comfort and to recommend to others 4 sure. It's hard to send someone, somewhere to stay, and then tell them there's no fridge or microwave though...so ya ...would help ALOT 🥰 and...soooooo sad the coffee and teas w creamers are gone. 1 of the perks staying here. Hope they come back 🙏

Whenever I go to Julian, I always try to stay at the Lodge. I really like the location and the staff--Mr. Jeff is the best! He always has time to make you feel like the most important guest! I like how the rooms are very clean and that there is staff always available willing to assist.

I have been staying at the Lodge for the past couple years and have noticed that it has changed. I miss the large table & rustic furniture that used to be the entrance room where we could sit in the mornings and meet other guests while eating a danish & having coffee. I also miss the friendly cats that used to be on the property which gave it a very 'homey' & comforting feeling.

Room 111 was great for my wife with moderate mobility problems. Handicapped parking was great right outside the door. The room was very clean.shower worked very well and hot water was fast. I liked that it conveniently had a refrigerator for our water. TV was nice and easy to work. The Internet worked well. The bed was very comfortable. Perfect accommodations to extend your trip and relax in Julian instead of rushing home the same day!

Maybe the door was a little fidgety to operate.

Location was not too far a drive from the lake and other things in town (it was about 12 minutes from the main Lake Cuyamaca recreation area). Quiet and comfortable room. Cleanliness was great. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Had issues with lockbox when checking in late, however they were resolved. There was parking but the lot was full when I arrived so I had to park on a side street. I think this was probably because I came for an event (San Diego 100) that had a lot more people sharing rooms than usual.
