This motel is nothing fancy, but that is exactly how I like it. It served my purpose. It had a comfortable bed, with a firm memory foam mattress. The room was exceptionally clean and simple. I only needed it to sleep, shower, and bathroom usage. I was able to park directly in front of my room which was a plus. Also, no key was needed as you enter your door with a code that matches the last 4 of your phone number (very convenient). Like I said, nothing fancy, no TV, but I wasn't there to watch TV. It served my purpose well, with a clean and inviting atmosphere.

I felt so lucky that I came in the off season and had the place to myself. I was on a birding trip and there’s a resident hummingbird and black throated sparrow right on the property. I loved the salt water pool which was perfect in the desert heat. The room was comfortable and I appreciated the communal sunscreen. I also appreciated that as a solo traveler in the desert, when I was out late Robin called to make sure I was okay. As a solo female traveler it was much appreciated. I want to come back in the spring to see wildflowers sometime and I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was perfect.

Good value for a week in area during busy season. Clean and basic facility w/o a lot of foo foo stuff we wouldn’t use or need. Adequate refrigerator and outdoor grilling area for some food preparation (plan for simple). Outdoor sitting spaces for star gazing, picnics and visiting with other travellers. Outside the bustle and street traffic of ‘downtown’ but close enough to walk. Entire area kept operating, tidy and cleaned up with ongoing attention paid to landscaping. Manager checked in once a day and always available by text.

Pool is not heated but it was open and cleaned and I enjoyed my swims!

This was our second time at the Borrego Springs Motel. We came for the first time in November 2021 and booked it this time in June 2023. We love this motel for several reasons: -First, we loved that it was not busy! We like our quiet, privacy, and autonomy so it was wonderful for us. -We love that the rooms are keypad entry so we don't have to worry about losing our keycards. Everything was in working order and the room was nice and cool, a reprieve from the hot desert sun. Thank you for having a fridge with some free snacks and drinks, microwave, and excellent AC! -We also love the pool and had a couple of fun swims during our stay. -The property itself is lovely and I liked taking photos of the different flowers and cacti out front. -The location can't be beat. It's near everything in Borrego Springs and yet off the road enough that you feel like it's a real desert experience. Restaurants, hikes and Galleta Meadows sculptures are just minutes away. -I personally also loved the new Little Free Library and I got to read several books about the wildflowers and history in the local area. -Also, we went for walks behind the property to watch the sunsets (honestly such a simple thing, but the desert sunset light is so beautiful it was one of my favourite parts...you do not get that kind of light in Ontario...) and we thought the crowing rooster on a neighbouring property was funny. -Borrego Springs is a dark sky community so it was absolutely amazing stargazing at the motel. We used a Night Sky app to discern all the constellations we could see. We are a couple of city slickers so we really enjoyed being able to enjoy a real starry sky. Thank you SO much for a fantastic stay and be assured that we will be back. We already miss it!

My only suggestions are that it would be nice to have a dresser or more clothing storage of some sort in the rooms, and the mattresses are extremely firm. We didn't mind that, but other folks might.

Location was good and convenient to all the amenities of Borrego Springs. Was very clean and convenient with car parking right in front of the room. Grounds were well maintained with a pool and outside sitting areas. Good, clean no frills motor lodge in the desert. Property manager was very friendly, professional and responsive.

The room was simple, but spacious--room for table and chairs--and spotlessly clean. Everything in the room seemed thoughtfully considered for guest comfort--including snacks, extra warm blanket and a great space heater. The shared outdoor spaces were lovely: fire pit and two covered patios, all with comfortable (and attractive) chairs. Chairs and tables outside each door were also a nice feature. The Little Free (lending) Library on the patio had great books about the area; and the parking lot was wide open for night-time sky gazing (and the walkway lights went out at 9:00 pm making it even darker). The host was very helpful, accommodating our change in plans.

Adorable, super clean, eco-conscious, solar-powered motel that fits in seamlessly with the Dark Sky Community Initiative! Exterior lights are kept to a minimum, especially after dark so you can view the starry, moonlight sky. I could hear the coyotes howling when I took my pup outside at night and actually saw two coyotes while I sat on the patio during the day! I lucked out and got to spend some extended time chatting with Robin the on-premises Innkeeper/local realtor who is incredibly knowledgeable about the local area AND timed it right to get to spend time talking with the new owners who just acquired this place in March 2021. They’ve done some important upgrades to this little gem in the desert to include super-FAST WiFi and a covered patio area, which allowed me to sit outside and enjoy the natural beauty while still tuning in to a remote work training. They also include LOTS of Kirkland coffee pods with the Keurig-like coffeemaker to avoid that dreaded trek to the front desk to get more. The larger than typical fridge includes a small freezer and was thoughtfully pre-stocked with creamer pods, two granola bars and two bottles of sparkling mineral water. Nice lil’ treat to open the fridge and find free goodies! Two luggage racks, five hangers and a shelf in the ample closet space. There are nightstands w lamps/outlets on both sides of the bed. The windows open in the bedroom and bathroom, allowing a nice cross breeze. I visited in November and had the windows open with the ceiling fan moving the air through nicely when the sun went down. There is an A/C unit with remote control that works well, but is a bit noisy when it gets hot. The bed and pillows are definitely firm and supportive. Bed is memory foam, like mine at home. I usually return from a motel stay with a sore back, but not this time! Decorative bedspread with a soft blanket and soft sheets made me feel at home. Floors are simple linoleum and clean.

This is a very clean and well managed motel. The shower has a comfortable size and good water pressure.

The mattress was too firm for me. It’s a foam mattress and doesn’t have much “give”.

Super cute and clean, great location! Lots of little extras. Everyone was quiet! Water was nice and hot.

Bed was SUPER hard and uncomfortable was disappointing. Note there is no TV in the room.

Location was great. Room a little bare bones, but bed comfortable, towels nice, lots of coffee pods, refrigerator a good size, lamps on each side of bed.
