I've stayed here before, and I love the clean, comfortable, serene experience. It's a basic kind of Costa Rican small hotel, but with beautiful verdant grounds. If you're looking for American style resort a la JW Marriott, don't come here. But if you want a sweet, laid back place in the heart of Playa Guiones where you can start to sink into the Pura Vida vibe without even trying and then walk to EVERYTHING (two amazing beaches, a dozen restaurants, cool dress shops, surf schools, yoga classes, a great bike rental and sales store, and more) ... you won't go wrong with the Living Hotel. Yeah the Internet ain't always the best, but you didn't come to Nosara, Costa Rica so you could stay plugged into the rat race back home 24/7.

I liked pretty much everything. But then I prefer authentic and simple to fancy. Internet is good when it's working ... but it's not always working.

I loved Living Hotel Nosara. This is a beautiful property, and one feels immersed in the forest and nature, even with it close to everything in town. The bungalows are cute, comfortable, and well-maintained. I appreciated the large pool house space (which works well to be outside even during the rain storms) and most of all the cafe of healthy, fresh-made foods and wonderful barista making everything from scratch on site. And the included coffee each day is not to be missed! Just a wonderful experience with genuine people.

Everything was great. I would have perhaps liked the landscaping crews with machines to start a little later in the day than waking up to that, but understand it must be done!

The rooms were so clean and pretty. Everything had a fresh and bright feeling to it. The rooms were also very comfortable. We were surprised to find out that our room for 4 was actually two rooms joined by a bathroom. We also had our own patio which was very comfortable. The common spaces were very nice and the pool was such an idyllic jungle pool. There was a coffee maker with coffee pods in the common area and the juice bar also gave us coffees that were free for guests. Alejandro was very helpful and kind. We were in the cutest part of Nosara with restaurants right outside our hotel and walking distance to the beach.

It was the most expensive place we stayed in Costa Rica. It was beautiful but Nosara is very expensive.

Location, parking, pool, kitchen were all great. Property has security and wonderful cleaning staff. Wonderful to get a tasty coffee in the mornings from the juice bar.

The mattress was not comfortable. There was a layer on it that squeaked under every movement we made. The kitchen was great, but having a few basics like oil, full and working salt and pepper grinders would have been great. Not their fault but the power kept going out in town. No generator in sight meant the rooms got very hot without the fan or AC I kind of thought there’d be more inclusions with the stay like bikes and boards to borrow. I wish I’d booked last minute rather than ahead of time because the price came way down

Best Location - right on the main road with everything right at finger tip, the beach (5-7mins walk), super market, restaurants, yoga classes (at Norte), surf shops. Facility - pool is best to cool off and relax after surf/ breach time. Hammock, common seating area are good size to enjoy. Just like a vacation home. Communal (equipped) kitchen is great for making simple meals like breakfast. Free iced coffee and paid acai bowls are well worth it after morning surf, Perfecto! Friendly staff - Alejandro has been extremely helpful from the dates changes before/after arrival and all other logistical questions. Alejandro is just a very chill and friendly guy who makes you feel very welcome and relax matching the energy of Nosara. He recommended the best surf instructor, Yohan, who taught me surf with patience and analysis. These guys enjoy Nosara and share that feeling with their guests. Thanks Alejandro and Team for being friendly and addressing my needs timely during my stay. Great chat with Alejandro during the rain. Reasonable price - most reasonable price in Nosara when everything is expensive.

Shower water pressure is not the strongest and warm water is debatable. It's fine to get by the hot weather and doesn't bother me much. Would be perfect when fixed.

The common area is wonderful. Easy free coffee and tea all day, full kitchen, couches and hammack, and the swimming pool is nice and deep. My favourite place is the yoga loft, so peaceful up there, nice place to stretch and relax. We had a double room which was perfect for us, kids had their room, my husband and I had ours, and we shared the bathroom and outdoor space. Although it's in a busy part of town, our room was all the way at the back, backing on the jungle, it was always quiet except when the monkeys were throwing their fruit discards on our roof, which we thought was so cool, to get to stay right in the jungle with the monkeys, close to the beach and centrally located. Doesn't get any better. The atmosphere is relaxed. We had family staying at the Gilded Iguana at the same time. We were surprised that their rate was barely higher than ours as so much more is included at the Gilded Iguana, but that hotel has an all inclusive feel with lots of waste. The Living Hotel was perfect for us.

There was no breakfast included with our accomodation but they had a community kitchen which you could tend to any cooking needs. There was a coffee smoothie bar with free morning coffee but no available breakfast. Alejandro the manger was very efficient and helpful with all our needs. He spoke good English and arranged transportation and dining reservations for us. I would highly recommend this Hotel!

It would have been nice to have a light breakfast included as they have the facilities and space to do this. We would have enjoyed that little extra.

The Living Hotel is an incredible little gem in Nosara. We stayed for five nights as a family with our four and six year old children and had a wonderful stay. The pool was an awesome addition to come back to after our long days at the stunning beach or adventuring. We also made good use of the kitchen, which was a nice break from the very pricey restaurants in Nosara. Highly recommended, would stay again.

The beds could definitely be a little softer.

The place is beautiful and at the center of Nosara, super close to the beach. They offer everything and the staff is kind.

I think the rooms need "plaquitas" to repel some of the mosquitoes. Additionally, ensuring the staff wash their dishes with soap and water after using them is important. I would also revisit the visitors policy, it was low season and the place was mainly empty, however the staff didn't let my friends in after 7pm which was a little wild to me. Specially because everything closed at like 9pm and we just wanted to talk a little more before going to bed.

The property has a nice jungle design with a pool, seating area, a pod coffee maker and cold water dispenser to fill your water bottle. It’s Very relaxing in the morning. The ladies did my laundry for me which was a huge plus!

The room is too small for two people. I shared it with a friend and there was not much space to spread out our suit cases. The room is very quiet and charming, with remote AC and the bathroom was very good with a blow dryer included and a good size shower and hot water.
