Lovely hotel close to playa Carrillo with toilet/shower/beach chairs provided on the beach, it was good that they offered transport or you could drive yourself. The gardens were really pretty and there were good facilities for kids (small slides in the pool and a play area/trampoline). We were kindly upgraded from an upstairs standard room to a suite with a little kitchenette on arrival when they recognised we’d struggle with the stairs and the pram. This was much easier for us so we were very grateful and was handy for lunches as we didn’t always have to buy food (kids ate leftovers). Aircon was good though the room was perhaps a little dated (I think they have newer rooms). Nice pools - one big one, small kids one and extra one that no one seemed to use when we were there. The breakfast is really good and the restaurant food in general is very good, though perhaps a bit pricey for costa rica (though great portion sizes) Everyone working at the hotel was lovely and welcoming also. We felt very well looked after.

I asked for a cot for our baby when we were there and they said they didn’t have one though I can see on reviews that others have been provided with one - perhaps lost in translation! There were lots to ants in the play area which is not ideal for kids though appreciate this is tricky to manage - just to be aware as they definitely bite.

The staff was exceptional and the pools were wonderful.

I didn’t realize when it said 5 mins to the beach, it was by shuttle. It was not possible to walk there. The hotel is isolated and unless you have a car you are stuck with the hotel restaurant for all your meals. The restaurant was good but expensive. We went to the beach one day but it’s not maintained and the benches and tables tables are very dirty and falling to pieces. There are no restaurants or services at the beach.

Beautiful property- comfy clean updated spacious rooms. Convenient to beach and they provide free chairs. Pools are gorgeous and have plenty of shade for afternoon sun. Very safe. Staff was wonderful. Restaurants were great and reasonable. Accommodating for kids they made them ice cream sundaes at night! Extremely safe.

It isn’t directly in the beach it’s about a mile down the road but we had a car and they also have a free shuttle. It isn’t a downside but just know it isn’t beach front

We had a wonderful stay here for e few nights. The hotel rooms were great and very comfortable. The pools and the restaurant were outstanding. What we loved the most is the shuttle and the provided chairs at the nearby beach by the hotel. The Playa Carrillo was on our whole trip the most beutiful beach of Costa Rica we have seen so far. We enjoyed our stay here so much, thank you!

The hotel is lovely inside. The restaurant overlooks a parklike setting with a nice pool area. The waiters and the bar hostess by the pool was a gem. The food was very good and the drinks were exquisite!

The locations is quite a distance from the beach so you definitely have to drive there. They do offer a shuttle service there and back.

My husband and I had the nicest 4 day visit to Leyenda. No it’s not close to beach but the shuttle to and from Carrillo beach is great, we had a rental car so we typically came and went. Also we simply loved the customer service. The wait staff was very attentive and efficient. My personal favourites were Lizeth, Kellyn and Marbeth. Ladies we can’t thank you enough along with Henry and the front desk attendants. The pool was cool amd refreshing while the poolside very comfortable.

after the 2nd morning I was tired of the breakfast. A little change up and perhaps cheese and alternative milk would have been amazing. I just bought cheese and coconut milk to have w breakfast.

Our Stay was amazing, from the staff, restaurant and amenities were amazing! Would definitely recommend and come back again. I would like to give a special thanks to the restaurant and bar staff, always super helpful and friendly, excellent service!

We just stayed one night and therefore couldn't experience everything but it is a nice Hotel. The Hotel was clean and the garden and playground for kids as well as pools seemed in very good shape and beautiful. I was traveling with my daughter. The rooms were also clean.

The room was very nice and big and always very clean. The pool was great for the children. Also the staff was very nice and friendly.

The breakfast could have offered more fresh fruits. It was always prepared and a little dry

The landscape, pools, and gardens are beautiful. The service is exceptional, and the mattress is excellent. The restaurant serves great food, and the chairs on the beach are a nice touch. Great coffee.
