The location, so secluded and within walking distance to the beach and the area where most water tours are done. This picture does not give justice to the place. The rooms are quite big and there is even a hair dryer. The bathroom is big too with warm water. There are benches in the corridor in case it rains and you gotta enjoy that. I would recommend ear plugs because the natural singers are out at night (I mean frogs in the back of the building where there is a small swamp or creek, not part of the property). The breakfast is so delicious, but do not miss to eat dinner there because the chef there , a young lady named Yarlini, is the most excellent cook. Her cooking seasoning is out of this world. Well recommended. The service staff is friendly and gracious, Isamara helped me so much she even booked me a tour. This place is so underrated but so worth it.

Nothing, everything here was perfect

Extremely clean. Everything in this hotel is in good repair. Great shower and good volume of very hot water. Friendly, hardworking staff. Size of the hotel is great too. It stayed quiet except for the neighborhood and dogs mentioned below. Everything I ate was a cut above normal Costa Rican dining. Very skilled cooks. Wonderful breakfast. Short walk to the beach. Beach is lovely. I loved the deck for the second floor rooms. The pool was great, although it could use a bit more shade.

No close restaurants. We had no car. The staff did not inform us that the restaurant is sometimes closed for dinner, and when that occurred we did not have dinner because walking in the dark on the beach or the road, for a distance, is unsafe. We did not like the dogs some guests had which would bark all day when left alone in their room. Some barking at night too. Not the hotel’s fault but: Homes bordering the property burned toxic fires (plastic, etc) at some point every day. The breezes carried the smoke to us at the hotel. At the moment, some roosters need to be culled, too many are crowing all night.

Easily one of the best places I stayed in Costa Rica. Excellent value for money. The only thing keeping me from giving a 10 is that it's a bit far from Samara center and it was hard for me to get by without a car. If you're traveling with a car, it's a no-brainer. - Lovely stuff - Nice big rooms, in very good condition. - AC and ceiling fan. - Cleanliness. - Extra towels for the beach or pool. - Close to the beach. - Tasty dinner (extra cost).

- The city center is not in a walkable distance. Either go by car or pay $10 for a taxi. - Roosters noise.

Room was spacious and clean. 2 beds were comfortable with firm mattresses. The included breakfast wash very tasty - fresh fruit, fresh juice, good coffee and eggs, omlettes, pancakes and jam. Pool was small but clean.

End of a bumpy dusty road typical in Costa Rica. 🤦‍♂️ Hot water was a bit spotty but we always had some. Handle fixtures in shower and bathroom sink are corroded and should be replaced. Shower actuation leaks wildly! Pillows were inflated tire tubes. They need a soft option.

So clean and modern. Pool area was lovely and really great staff and service! We had cocktails delivered to us whilst sat at the little pool bar! Shower had great pressure and was hot! Complementary toiletries and also coffee whenever you want, you just have to ask :) cute animals around too

Only issue we had was noise from neighbouring properties going on till past 10pm, loud bass, but that can’t be helped and wouldn’t affect us staying again.

The room/bathroom is a bit outdated, but very clean and has everything you need. Very close to the sea, and a nice 15-20 minute walk to Samara (along the beach). I personally liked that the hotel wasn’t in the center, especially if you have a car the distance to Samara is no problem. There is a possibility to have dinner at the hotel (not every day).

Beds/mattresses might need replacement

A great place to stay, no expensive and with good amenities. Also close to probably the best beach of Samara literally 5 minutes by walk. Food is also tasty and staff are pretty kind.

If you like pools theirs is pretty small and located badly but we don't like pools anyway plus 5 mins away you have an amazing sea. Food is also a little bit expensive.

Hotel Sol Samara is just located outside of the city centre, so a car is ideal. It’s surrounded by an amazing nature, a garden with chickens and kittens. The beach is just down the road, a 2min walk and you are with a 5min drive in the city centre surrounded with all restaurants you need

In the low season (we’re there early June), the beach is not great to lay down

The place had a very homey feel with lovely staff working here. I liked the proximity to the beach, only a very short walk and that the hotel is in the nature away from all the hustle and bustle. The breakfast was good and generous and restaurant for evening meals was very good as well. I think it was the best place I stayed on my trip to Costa Rica. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The street to the hotel from the main road is in very bad shape with many potholes. It's not the hotel fault. But its important for Future customers to take into consideration that a low car might have problems driving on the road. I hope the hotel can work with the local government and fix the road
