Lovely little hotel in the old town area. We arrived early and staff were more then happy to look after our bags until we could book in. All the staff were lovely and friendly and helped with any enquires we had. Hotel has a lovely roof terrace with fab views that we took our complimentary cocktail up to drink-had the place to ourselves-perfect. Room was great with a big bathroom and the bed was very comfy. The hotel had provided 2 fans to cool the room which was a great touch. Toiletries that were provided very really nice and smelt incredible. Fresh cookies in the room-yum plus plenty of tea and coffee We did not have breakfast but it looked lovely as we walked through the dinning room to leave in the morning. Will defiantly be are go to hotel in Margate from here on!

It's a fantastic hotel in a great location. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We arrived early and dropped our bag at reception. When we returned to check in later that day, our bag had already been brought to the room! The room was lovely and we had a bath which was really nice. The bed was comfortable and with 2 fans the room was kept at a nice temperature even with the warm weather. The roof terrace is a nice place to sit for an hour if the weather is good. Breakfast is included, but it does not include the cooked breakfast. You will not be disappointed, though, as the chefs table breakfast is very generous with a selection of cereal, fresh seasonal fruit, cheese, ham, fresh bread, and proper butter. There are cooked breakfasts available at an extra cost if you want one.

Everything was great, but we were disappointed that the restaurant is not open for dinner on a Sunday. We will have to visit again so we can try it next time!

Great location 3 minutes' walk above the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery, and easy walking to everywhere else in Margate. Rooms weren't huge, but were tastefully decorated, equipped with everything you'd need, and spotlessly clean. Nice Continental breakfast (NB cappuccino costs extra!). Super friendly and helpful staff, without exception. Lovely relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant/lobby area and throughout. Lift to all floors. Fab-looking roof terrace as well!

No parking on site (we knew that in advance), but helpful arrangement with the car park of a closed-down pub 2 doors away, for which the hotel takes the payment on the car park's behalf.

Great location near Margate old town and all the cool pubs/restaurants/Turner Contemporary. Lovely staff who made us feel so welcome - we stayed at a £600 a night hotel later in the week and the Fort Road Hotel team should be hired as consultants. That's how you look after guests. Our room was lovely with a sea view and all the food was fab. What's not to love?

Our room was a little warm for my taste but I do like it artic cold. The team solved the issue quickly. That's it. As I say above there's nothing not to love about this hotel.

The hotel and staff were both very good. Room nice and clean, bed comfortable, and you could hold a dance in the shower and bathroom.

As regards breakfast, we expected the full works after paying a good wedge for the accommodation. Not so, anything that needed cooking (apart from toast) was extra. Not good enough. We also didn't realise that on Saturday nights they held a nightclub type disco, and we were in room 2 just above the speakers. This carried on into the early hours with no consideration for guests.

Room was on the small side but with a good sea view. Hotel is interesting and better than the usual chains as regards decor and artistic touches. Breakfast was varied and main meals quite tasty. Well located for Turner Gallery and old town. Roof terrace is a nice idea but not in high wind!

Noisy neighbours but this was not the hotel's fault. Reception of visitors with suitcases not appropriate in the middle of a very small restaurant space. Management should find another solution to this logistical problem. Menu was a bit limited.

A lovely, boutique hotel right on the sea front in the heart of Margate, steps away from the old town. Staff were incredible, felt like we were being welcomed into their home! Incredibly comfy bed and fab view from our room. The continental breakfast and juice-stocked fridge were a nice touch. Much better value than other options in Margate in high season.

The sink and shower in our room had drainage issues. Not surprising in an old building and not the end of the world but took some of the shine away.

Everything was absolutely perfect! The location is fantastic, with a breathtaking view of the sea to wake up to. The breakfast was great, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated with high-quality materials, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. There are also wonderful books available to read, which adds to the charm. The hotel has a Wes Anderson vibe, and it’s one of those rare places where you feel like you could live there. A special mention goes to the hallway leading to the rooms, which showcases the remnants of Margate’s history, almost like a small museum!

If I had to find something slightly negative, it would be the soundproofing in the rooms. We could hear our neighbors’ entire conversation, even though they weren’t speaking particularly loudly. Additionally, the rooms were very warm. Despite turning off all the heating and thermostats, and leaving the window open about 20 cm, it didn’t seem to help.

We had a wonderful stay! The accommodation was clean, chic and the air condition was fab on a hot day. The design details were gorgeous and well considered. The sea view onto Turner Contemporary was lovely and the location could not be better. Breakfast was delicious! The bathroom products were also lovely and smelt great. Strawberries, cookies and a personalised note for our wedding anniversary on arrival in the room were a classy and kind cherry on top!

It was all great! Nothing we didn’t like!

We were greeted by Laura, in a friendly, polite and professional manner. The hotel gives good vibes, it's been refurbished and is a lovely place to stay. We stayed in Room 12, which was just gorgeous, spacious, immaculate. Bed was SO comfortable. Lots of little touches around the hotel that make it that little bit special. Would recommend to everyone. Breakfast was relaxed and with lots of variety. Staff were all friendly and professional. Just lovely.

There was nothing to dislike or moan about.
