The hotel was brilliantly situated on the High Street, just 350 yds from the cathedral which was the main reason for our visit. The breakfasts were varied and nutritious and all served to you, freshly cooked. The Welcome staff were excellent, professional, helpful and took time to listen. I had an elderly person with me that needed a walking aid, they were happy to store her 'walker' and our high-tec, fold down scooter, which was such a relief for me. Cosy lounge upstairs, good for reading and quiet times. Staff were also happy to search for useful phone numbers too. Canterbury had such a buzz, great places to eat, really easy to get around and friendly people. Will definitely return.

I thought the bar food was quite expensive and we weren't always given a menu or an idea of offers on the go, however it was a great space to spend time, well appointed room and just opposite the tourist information centre called the Beanie.

The location o the hotel was as near perfect as makes no difference and we had a delightful room overlooking the town. The hotel car park only held 13 cars so it was a problem for guest arriving late as the nearest public car park was ten minutes walk away. However, being somewhat disabled, a parking spot was mad available for me in the staff car park.

It is only a minor complaint but we found that housekeeping was perhaps not as sharp as we have experienced in other hotels. Our rooom was made up often quite late into the afternoon and replacement odds and ends sometimes forgotten and other things such as bags of toilet rolls left in room and not removed. Overall, it was good and we liked the F+B staff who were friendly and helpful. THe toilet had clear glass walls within the bathroom.

Room was presented in a high standard condition with the lovely views of the Cathedral.. This room offered a working air conditioner which kept our room pleasantly comfortable... The size of the bathroom was pleasant and clean..

Room Service, upon our arrival we noticed there was not enough towels or face flannels, nor toilet paper, nor coffee or sugar or milks available.. We requested by dialling "0" to the front desk, they said it will be done by house keeping at 11am.. By 2pm I called again and stated it was not delivered to our room... Another thing which I found really shocking was the local PARKING - Sadly this hotel does offer Hotel Parking their charge was set at £25.00 per 24 hours.. We took a shot and we parked at the local Park and ride and paid £8.00 for 24 hours we paid in total £16.00 including free bus travel to and from the Bus Station and a 3 minute walk to the Hotel..

Room, very good, bathroom system not so good, could not get hot water. Lots of gurgling noises from shower, sink and toilet. Location, perfect. Breakfast - very poor. Reception - excellent

The breakfast had been given an AA award - not sure how! Perhaps review whole system from entry into dining area. What does success look like? Staff need a system to work to - training/mentoring. Either, allocate staff to set tables, or give IPads to take orders and connect to kitchen but it became chaotic- food and drink needed to be requested three/four/five times. Food not available, scrambled eggs left or clearly scrapped off a pan/cold. Boiling water for T not just hot! Coffee, full cups and a jug to refill.The whole culture needs to change. I’m sorry this is negative but it should be used as a positive criticism. Train a Manager to support your staff. Your serving staff were very polite and deserve to be appreciated.

The property was beautiful and the location was absolutely perfect as it took us 3 minutes to walk to the venue of a party we were attending. It was so close that we went back a couple of times to change or drop something off that we didn’t need. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, beds were comfy, taps and showers had good water pressure which personally makes the difference for getting ready to go out or morning routine etc. We were able to park around the back even though spaces are limited but being right in the Center this was understandable and wouldn’t have been the end of the world if we had to park in an offsite car park. Would highly recommend.

Some aspects were a little dated (shower fittings, hallway carpets etc) which was fine by me but may not be to other guests tastes but you can see from the outside that the building has been renovated as best as possible and a bit of dated character never goes a miss. Already mentioned the limited car park spaces but Abode has more rooms than car parking spaces so they’ve done well with what they have. It’s tucked round the back and well signed with a barrier and buzzer that connects to the front desk so that brings more of a silver lining to the lack of spaces.

Very centrally located on the high street and excellent communication with staff prior to and upon arrival. The room was lovely with a very comfortable bed, and extremely quiet despite works going on directly outside the hotel. It was quite pricey for one night but we felt it was worth it for a nice weekend away.

It was a bit confusing to have prices on the breakfast menu when we knew we’d paid in advance for it. Also the layout of the room (the bathroom space is open and visible via a big glass window just behind the bed) was initially a bit disconcerting until we realised the toilet and shower were definitely private!

The hotel met nearly all our expectations expect breakfast see below. The room was spacious and comfortable and the decor was very good especially the wall with the all the photos. The food in the brasserie was excellent. The staff were professional and looked after all our requests. The hotel is smack in the centre of the High Street and therefore Canterbury, which was great. Would I stay here again, yes definitely!

Everything about the hotel met our expectations except the breakfast which for us was too expensive. We have a simple breakfast of cereals, toast or croissant and do not want meats, cheeses etc. So it was cheaper for us to go to Caffe Nero and for both we had what we wanted for the price of one breakfast at the hotel.

Staff friendly and helpful and very accommodating. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. It was very handy being able to store our luggage before check in and after checkout while we explored Canterbury.

We had a lovely afternoon tea which was very nice but I would say for the price I was expecting fine china rather than coffee cups and two tea plates to eat from (one for savoury and one for sweet) e Also I had booked a family room for my two daughters and myself but the room was only catered for two people, 2 robes, 2 mugs , 2 towels etc. when I rang reception to request supplies for the 3rd person they said they would ‘try’ and send some up! Well….. it never arrived.

Great central location and comfortable rooms. Liked the character of the buildings. Very nice breakfast and excellent service in both the dining room and the bar.

I was first allocated a room which overlooked a pub and the noise was very loud, keeping me awake till the early hours. The staff at Reception I spoke to about this were initially unsympathetic, suggesting that I should expect this from a centrally located hotel. However, when I approached Reception later they were very helpful and moved me to a quiet room for the following night, with which I was very happy.

This hotel is right in the centre of Canterbury. It was great to have parking at the hotel. The staff were excellent! They were very friendly and professional and Andre on reception went out of his way to help. The food is also really good at lunch and dinner (great chef!) and the breakfast was cooked well and all served to you. The room was lovely and quiet at the back of the hotel, the decor was very pleasant and the bed very comfy. We'd definitely go back.

The bathroom had an old shower over the bath which took a very long time to get warm! It was not well finished (eg glass bath panel did not cover boarding beneath which had badly peeling paint. It had a very noisy fan (like a helicopter taking off) and cold air came in through the fan grill when off. All fairly minor in comparison with positives this hotel offers.
