Lovely traditional looking hotel. Neat landscape gardens and lovely window box flowers. Clean and comfy room with balcony and lift access. Traditional menu to choose from 1st night then barbecue buffet the second. Very nice. Plenty of english speaking staff. The rooftop bar area was relaxing with colourful sofas (Moroccan theme I think) and 2/3 cocktails to choose from plus usual beers etc. Barman friendly and enthusiastic.

Hotel was a bit remote, ie not near a village or town. The road outside was fairly busy and noisy, but the roadworks at the time were probably the cause of that.

The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed from the first moment. They also accommodate us with dinner by adapting a dish for our 2 year old daughter. The food was delicious and the room was spacious for the three of us. We loved the lounge and the restaurant terrace. Nice place to have an aperitivo or a nice dinner.

Despite the food being delicious, I would have expected a little bit more options for the dinner menu, especially vegetarian, and a small kid menu would have also be a big plus. It's also a little bit too pricey, even if the dishes were definitely particular. I loved the swimming pool, so this is probably more of a personal preference, but I would have preferred the sGer to be a little bit warmer (we still enjoyed it 😊)

Unreasonable openings hours of sauna facilities . Saunas are working from 2pm till 8 pm, while you have to check out by 11 am. If you arrive after 20:00 then no sauna nor swimming pool are available. This is a huge inconvenience, unless management of the hotel prefers not to treat it’s customers at fullest

We would highly recommend this lovely, family run hotel in the most beautiful setting in the Black Forest. Perfect to access spectacular landscapes and hiking trails in the nearby National Park areas. The spa facilities are very good and we had a thoroughly relaxing winter holiday. The food is also exceptional - it is delicious and varied and really reflects the regional cuisine while also catering for vegan diet if preferred. Breakfast, lunch buffet, and 4 course dinner were all a highlight of our trip and good value too. The room was spacious but cosy with a lovely large balcony too.

The only thing we would change to make the stay a 10/10 is the comfiness of the beds. The mattresses were soft enough but not as supportive as we would like. We also had two single beds put together to make a double but they moved across the floor so that the gap kept widening.

Lovely hotel with indoor pool, spa and other amenities. Close to different hiking trails. Lovely staff.

I found that paying 20 euros per night for our 3.5kg Chihuahua was a bit expensive.

Wonderful and quaint hotel that offers a pool and excellent breakfast buffet. The staff was kind and helpful. I highly recommend the Holtzschuh Schwarzwaldhotel and plan on returning soon.

Lovely place in the middle of the woods. Great nature around and a great place to relax. They have a wellness center with plenty of options that we unfortunately could not try because of time constraints, but they had accessible prices. A place to come back.

A little bit hot at night, but once you open the window it gets better.

The location was excellent and the food was superb!!
