Das Waldhaus is very comfortable, with friendly attentive staff, and a beautiful riverside location. The town is quiet and peaceful, and we absolutely enjoyed our night there. The breakfast was fantastic! Separate kids beds in the Family room were perfect for our tweens.

There are very limited food options nearby, but we enjoyed the Family schnitzel Meal at the historic Guesthaus Adler. There is also a grocery market within walking distance.

Lovely hotel in a very quiet town, right by the river. It is so pretty and the rooms were amazing . We had a room with a balcony which faced the bridge and the river. The room was very modern and extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with lots of good choice. Our dog was made very welcome and allowed to accompany us everywhere in the hotel. I can highly recommend this hotel.

We chose the hotel as it had a restaurant with a good review. After having driven a long way we looked forward to a nice meal but the restaurant was not open which was very disappointing.

Nice room with balcony looking out on the river. Very good breakfast. Free parking close to the hotel. Free and reliable WIFI. Good location for hiking in the Black Forest.

The bed could have been better: a bit too small (I am quite tall) and hard, with thin and small blankets. We went on vacation to relax in nature and rest a lot, but did not sleep as well as we had hoped.

Friendly and welcoming staff, immediately at arrival we were greeted en welcomed. It is a cozy hotel expanded over hundreds of years, perfectly located at the river. Breakfast was good with fresh fruits and all you can wish for.

In my room there were very loud ticking noises, probably from the heating pipes. They woke me up multiple times, that should be fixed. However, the calming sounds of the river put me right back to sleep.

The host and his family are exceptionally welcoming, friendly and very helpful. My ravel plans kept changing and they accommodated (literally and figuratively), my changes with zero fuss.

Nothing to complain about - truly. It's a great little place, nice location right next to the river, and very friendly staff. Quiet too - and close to the few amenities Forbach has to offer.

We've had a loveley time at Das Waldhaus. Upon arrival we got an upgrade of our booking for a room with a balcony and a wonderful view of the forest and the river. The host was really friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great with lots of options and nicely presented with care. The nicely decorated room has everything you could need in a hotel. Including a good bed, an area to sit, a smart TV and clean bathroom. Das waldhaus was really a 'home away from home'. The restaurant serves Japanese/asain cuisine as well as some typical German dishes. Would highly recommend to eat here. You can park the car for free in front of Das waldhaus and the area is really beautiful. The trainstation and a supermarket are around the corner.

Nothing about Das Waldhaus itself was disappointing. Forbach itself is a really quiet and small town, there are no restaurants or shops (besides the supermarket, a local bakery/coffee shop and Das waldhaus restaurant). Just something to be aware of depending on your wishes.

We arrived late for only one night. It is a shame that we didn't see much of the surroundings. The location is nice, position beside the river and a beautiful wooden bridge, which is quite in your face if you sit on their outside terras or, like us, from the large balcony on the side of the hotel. It has a pretty contemporary and fresh looking interrior. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. It is located on the edge of a bigger village which look interesting. Parking is outside. The bathroom is good and has a decent roomy shower. Also good beds.

Nothing realy. May be a tip is to do some maintenance on the wood of the balcony.

Location was very good, it's a small town, but it's very central to a lot of other places. Public transport easily accessible. River will make some noise at night which will help you fall asleep easily. Breakfast was good and had variety. Personnel was very friendly and helpful. Asian style restaurant was very good and I can definitely recommend the vegan bowl and the crunchy sushi.

The bar closes early and there is not much to do in the town, however, this was to be expected in a small town. If you're 2m tall then the beds might be on the small side.

Great location next to a river (calming river noise throughout day) and a beautiful wooden covered bridge. Our room was very nice and large. Bed was comfy, bathroom was a good size. Staff was friendly. Free coffee/tea was available at a station in the hall, along with drinks vending for soda/water/beer/wine.nBreakfast was exceptional - so many options and lots of fresh fruits/veg. The town of Forbach itself doesn't have much going on. A few restaurants, including the one for the inn itself, but we were interested in exploring the Black Forest, so this was a great location for that.

Parking is a little tricky - there are a limited number of free spots that require some maneuvering/smaller cars. There's also some free street parking (what we got). Check in took a little while. Two of the three windows in our room (#2) didn't close super well/had old seals so some noise from the street/restaurant was present.

The location, directly on the river and next to the wooden bridge was wonderful. We enjoyed having drinks overlooking the river and listening to the sound of the running river in the evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We had no complaints about our visit.
