We just stayed 4 nights at the Anukama resort in Nilaveli. We had a truly wonderful time! The resort itself is a true paradise with beautiful accommodation, a lovely garden setting with all tropical plants and a wonderful pool. It's just a short walk to the beach and close to crocodile lake. Nice little restaurants at walking distance, but also good food at the resort. Great Breakfast also! But by far the best feature is the staff! They do everything to make your stay memorable. Kindness and friendliness from the goodness of their hearts! They were fantastic to our kids, made them feel home and safe. They make this place absolutely great. I hope that many more will enjoy their hospitality!

This was one of our favourite hotels across a 3 week Sri Lanka trip. The pool was a real highlight at Anukama, set amongst a verdant garden and we had a wonderful time lounging there in the July heat. The room was also comfortable with good size beds and air conditioning. All the staff were really friendly and great with children and we all enjoyed the breakfast choices. It's a short walk to a beautiful beach with a good choice of restaurants and activities.

There could be a few more sunloungers around the pool perhaps and it would be great to have filtered water available to reduce plastic bottle use. Not the hotel's fault - but there was quite a lot of litter on the lanes and beaches in nilaveli which was a shame - maybe the hotels and businesses locally could collectively try to address this.

The individual bungalows were really cute, comfortable and spacious. The outside seating area was attractive and looked out over the pool and gardens. There was a nice play area with volleyball net and sporting equipment, books and games to use. The staff were really helpful and polite, especially the reception staff who went out of their way to arrange tours and transport for us. The local beach was beautiful and only a 5 minute walk away there was a great rustic beach bar with friendly staff that did fabulous seafood.

The main criticism was that there resort had no hard liquor license so the only alcohol served was tinned beer. A glass of wine at dinner would have been nice! We also thought it a bit strange you had to choose breakfast the day before but it was very generous and good value for money. The crows were also really noisy clattering around on the tin roof in the early hours!

Friendliness of the staff, they really want to make everything as comfortable as possible. The room was really nice and clean great beds. The pool is open from 0830 till 2130 so the kids could go swimming after dinner which we really enjoyed. And its nice location close to the beach (500m walk). And with a tuktuk you can go to Uppuveli for more action and nice restaurants. Definitely go to Your Choice restaurant there.

N.a. But if I have to think of something it is maybe the airconditioning that is directed onto the beds so when sleeping you always have direct wind on you which woke us up many times a night. But it is a personal preference I guess.

Lovely pool, really close to a beautiful beach. Room was a good size and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Consistently incredibly slow service for food, which would never arrive for all of us at a similar time. Some of the strangest food we experienced in Sri Lanka - it became entertaining to see what we were going to get! They had a few dishes that were delicious though. The staff were so friendly and tried really hard to offer a great service, so we never complained. The room felt a little tired and not the cleanest. The area surrounding the resort is really run down - more to be aware -it didn’t impact on our time there, which we really enjoyed.

What a gem of a hotel. Off the beaten track set amongst acres of arable farmland this just adds to its charm. A short walking distance to the beach and hotel tuktuks readily available to take you out elsewhere Plenty to see and do here - hot springs, ancient Buddhist Stupas and more. A 600m stroll along path in opposite direction to beach takes you past grazing goats, wonderful water fowl, through masses of beautiful white butterflies to crocodile lake where mid afternoon you can catch a glimpse of these reptiles coming up for some air. The hotel itself is newly developed with modern air conditioned spacious chalets complete with shady verandas. A good sized pool with loungers surrounded by tropical landscaped gardens makes this the ideal holiday setting for families and couples. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Scrumptious healthy Sri Lankan breakfasts - organic fruits and juices from trees in the grounds with honey & curd, free range eggs or full English if you prefer. Truly idyllic place

Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The hotel offered different breakfast options, the rooms were spacious, the environment was quiet, and the swimming pool was clean. The service was attentive, and when there was a power outage one evening, the staff quickly resolved the issue. Highly recommend!

The entrance is not very noticeable when you are driving along the main road. It's very peaceful but also a little bit far from lively areas at night.

The rooms are excellent and can accommodate a family very well. Swimming pool was excellent. Really nice environment surrounded by fruit bearing trees, ample parking space and accommodation for the driver as well.

Kettle in one of the rooms was not working. The hot water seemed have a problem. There was no coffee sachets in the room, only tea. Some stray dogs were there, may be the hotel needs to look in to it. Food wasnt that tasty, but ok.

Nice quite fantastic property. Staff is very friendly. Food was good! They had Sri Lankan style and English style breakfast to choose, Both of them were delicious. Thank you!

They did not have kids meals or we had 14 adults and 5 kids. They only served 14 breakfast meals for the adults. But it was enough for all of us. ( I thought they could have given free meals for the kids. Was not a big deal)

The staff are lovely, trying hard. Really lovely boys. Eager to please.Gardens are beautiful- they have put in so much effort.. Near the beach. Great value.

Needs a deep clean thought out rooms. They ‘freshen’ rooms. Towels changed, beds made, water replaced but proper deep cleans of bathrooms and bedrooms needed, then regular cleans needed- sink, shower need good cleans. All windows need a proper clean and polish, including glass in and around restaurant. Just more attention to detail with so many staff around and it would be up a level. Only one person who could make drinks so limited chances to buy drinks- would have ordered more than 1 per day. Rubbish in local area not their fault but needs something doing about it too.
