Very clean, peaceful, nice view. Love the restaurant since I relaxed there quite often. Excellent WiFi. Probably the best hostel I would argue in Kigali

I feel like they want to make money off everything and some things are unnecessarily way too overpriced. $15 for laundry. $1 to rent a towel- not deposit but you pay. Well atleast I didn't have to pay for water. Also location is peaceful but there is nothing nearby

Yambi House is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they even helped us in planning our activities. We had the deluxe king room and it was perfect for us, large room, super comfortable bed . Tte meals here excellent, the breakfast buffet had something for everyone, unlimited choices ,and chef was always ready to prepare something you craved. Not to mention the coffee , always someone available to make your coffee of choice and some of the best coffee you’ve ever had.For supper we had 2-3 choices and the food was delicious. If you are looking for a budget friendly, home like feel for your stay in Kigali we highly recommend Yambi house. Ps Ask them to make you African tea you won’t regret it!

You can hear noise from outside, so if you are a light sleeper this may bother you

It’s located in a quiet neighbourhood about 15mins by moto-taxi from the central parts of Kigali. I loved the serene setting and greenery of the guesthouse. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is good and my room was comfortable. The wifi also worked well.

Add the room had some small windows which were covered with netting against mosquitoes but not with glass, whatever noise is made on the outside (e.g., other guests pulling their trolleys over the cobbled pathway early in the morning) or inside of the room can easy be heard. So bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper and be aware that there’s limited privacy as others can overhear conversations you’re having in the room quite easily.

I stayed in 5 different low to mid budget guesthouses in Kigali and this was hands down the best! Like an immersive, peaceful oasis.with all the trees. It made me forget there were neighboring houses. This was exactly what I was looking for after 2 weeks of new impressions, much commotion and several hikes in the north of the country In addition, the owner and all staff are very welcoming and kind The location might not be the closest to the city or the stadiums, but you do find some supermarkets and very charismatic shops ran by locals in the area (definitely support them!) - just don't let anyone try to charge you 1k RwF for an avocado ;) Laundry was 10$, still do-able and in line with the laundry mats nearby The food the chef made was incredibly delicious The cleaning lady was immaculate, very considerate and I appreciated the complimentary water refill each day! All in all - amazing

The only downside is that sadly their food menu is very pricey. It was as if I never left Amsterdam which was quite startling considering the actual price of raw ingredients in Rwanda So I ended up getting avocados, some bread and samosas from the local shops, basically DIYing my way around breakfast & lunch for over a week, probably saved me 100USD and I could eat in the garden, no problem! Oh yea, and I think the website states that there's an open kitchen, but there's not (just as booking correctly states)

The guesthouse was lovely. My room was large and comfortable and had a mosquito net which is required as the some of the room windows did not have glass so mosquitos can easily enter your room, along with lizards and other little guests. The communal areas were lovely and relaxing, the breakfast was great and there was plenty of food. It was a little confusing the whole food and drink situation with the bar being a help yourself and then register wat you had taken so that you can be charged. Also the breakfast situation was a little confusing so I wasn't sure what I could and couldn't have but its OK. Great location in the quieter side of Kigali, easily reached by moto taxi.

My room was right next to the kitchen/laundry so was a little noisy early in the morning.

Very safe, beautifully quiet and delicious breakfast. I was collected from the airport in the middle of the night and everyone was extremely helpful. Slightly outside the city centre so still easily accessible but not busy.

We stayed at Yambi Guesthouse for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The rooms are super cute and comfortable. The food is fantastic, especially breakfast which is filling and delicious. The addition of a barista in the mornings is a great touch and my partner said it’s the best coffee he’s ever had. All the staff are lovely and went out of their way to help us where we needed. We loved the garden area which was a nice place to relax and unwind after a day exploring. Easy to get a transport into the city, good wifi and a reasonably priced laundry service. Would highly recommend staying here and would stay again in a heartbeat upon returning to Rwanda.

I had a short but wonderful stay at Yambi guesthouse. I booked pickup service as I landed in the middle of the night, and Kevin was on time and drove me safely to the guesthouse and arranged check-in in a timely manner, which was very much appreciated. A lovely breakfast was included in my room which was served on the beautiful patio. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe the entire stay including walking around in the area. I booked a full day safari tour which was a lovely day in the Akagera National Park with driver/guide Kevin and a park ranger. It was a hot day so most of the big five were hiding, but I saw plenty of other animals and the beautiful scenery. Although vegetarians are pretty uncommon here I was served excellent food at the guesthouse (and throughout my entire stay in the country). The room was spacious and had everything I needed (mosquito net - although I never saw any - desk, hangers etc). Overall I had a wonderful stay and warmly recommend it.

The room I stayed in was a bit noisy (dog barking, other guests arriving late etc) so earplugs could be good if you are a light sleeper.

Great quiet location, great staff, and just a great vibe. We allways book good places to stay in the beginning of our trip to relax after the flight, and this time we chose the right one! The guys at the guesthouse helped us a lot and therefor we also went with their touring agency. We told then what we wanted at hey made us a package deal. We went to Twin lakes, Volcanoes national park (without gorillas), farmers experience with bana beer making and local singers and dancers, lake Kivu, Umusambi village, and two-day Akagera tour with a boatride. All the guys where lovely people. Lionel, Patrick, and especially Kevin who drove us all week.

Not many restaurants in the area, but the chef at Yambi is very talented.

A perfect place away from the hustle and bustle of the main city, beautifully appointed rooms - really beautifully decorated with fab bathrooms - and eating area - fantastic food, an honesty bar and easy access to the city with mototaxis. Highly recommend for ease and enjoyment!

We did not find the staff all that forthcoming in helping assist us with onwards plans - for example, we asked how we could get to Nyungwe Forest and the short response was ‘Don’t - it’s too difficult.’ I found this at odds with the place as this is obviously a travellers haven!
