Food in this hotel is super delicious. Would really like to thank the team of chefs. We enjoyed our every meal so much that during our stay in Kigali we almost entirely dined in the hotel restaurants. Also liked the classic decoration of this hotel.

The facilities in this hotel are dated and need upgradation. On the arrival date we had to change a room because of smell issues, then it turned out that in the changed room the toilet flush does not work. All of these on the first day were rather annoying. But eventually we were satisfied with our stay.

There’s an abundance of fantastic amenities at this Serena hotel. So for a weekend stay it was fantastic, you don’t even have to leave the hotel. I’m a big fan of the Maisha health club which hosts the gym and spa. The breakfast experience was also nothing short of magical. There were so many varieties and options to cater to everyone’s tastes.

The only downside for me were the lady staff at reception were a bit cold idk? It’s like they’re super tired /overworked or something. So every time I asked them for something they would give me this tired look (like they were exhausted and I was bothering them) (and this is literally from the first moment I stepped in lol) Anyway maybe it just wasn’t their day.

The Serena is a luxury hotel offering for tourism a variety of dining options, pool, very good spa, bar and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The staff was friendly and accomadating. I spent 2 nights in Kigali for site seeing and then departed for gorilla treking. The Serena was chosen by my tour company and they drove me around. I can't compare to other hotels or the use of ride hailing. The Serena was clean, safe, self contained. It did not appear to be within walking distance to anything special. I would recommend and stay again. Overall a good stay.

I discovered room rates varied greatly from, advance booking, in person booking, online booking. I would just check pricing carefully when booking. Otherwise a good stay.

Amazing friendly staff, they made the stay enjoyable, kudos to the whole team ( except one individual- read below :), facilities were also great and the room, spacious and comfortable.

The staff was generally good, friendly, helpful, professional, dedicated to making our stay, as comfortable and memorable as possible. There was however, one individual (member of the kitchen staff) who seemed to be the opposite, having loudly (louder than any of the other guests) his private conversation in front of guests. While it’s not a capital crime, I don’t think it meets the high standards Serena is aiming for.

The Serena downtown Kigali is a popular hotel in town, and it has a very good reputation for stay-cations. My wife and I decided to try this out for our anniversary, and it was a pleasant stay. We had a nice massage in their spa and poolside drinks and dinner. The next morning, the breakfast was a very nice spread, and the front desk was able to arrange a late checkout, which was very much appreciated.

The rooms seemed a little dated and worn, but were still comfortable. Service was alright, but not over the top for the price of the stay. Overall, there isn't much to complain about unless you want to nitpick at some things.

Very limited room service menu. Booked for a massage and facial for 2pm..I was told to get there early to use sauna first. I got there 1.20pm…not provided a towel or gown or shower cap…I sorted myself. I was told they would call me at 2pm, they did not. Begun my session at 2.20pm and ended at the scheduled time so I lost 20mins…

This is a beautiful hotel with very large and comfortable rooms. Great bathroom. We had a balcony as we were looking over the pool. Breakfast buffet was delicious and dinner buffet was good if you like to eat dinner that way! Comfortable lounge to have coffee or light meals. The pool is huge and looks beautiful but it is very cold. Spa facilities are also beautiful.

I liked everything the compound the breakfast and the staff are so friendly specially staff in ghe restaurant, however room service is poor I wanted coffee capsules that were not in gge room and I had to call four times before someone arrived with just two capsules after three hours waiting, I found this unacceptable from a high standard hotel like Serena, this of course will not stop me from coming back but just commenting for improvement,

Lovely spacious room. The breakfast was amazing, so much choice and something for everyone. The freshly made pancakes and omelettes were amazing. The pool and gym facilities were nice too. The staff were very helpful and accommodating too.

In general there wasn't anything we didn't like. We did find the hotel airport taxi was quite expensive at $35.

Pastries could be better. Sausages were left too long so they were dry. One of the front desk personnel was not very familiar with check out billing and caused confusion which was very swiftly sorted by the duty manager - Makanda.
