Luxury accomodation in a central location in Kigali. Rooms were spacious, hot water shower & wifi worked great. Heaps of restaurants nearby & tourist attractions within walking distance. Neighbourhood seemed safe with lots of security around. Live music & performances each evening which, if you have a garden room, you can watch from your balcony.

While the hotel was nice - we felt it was overpriced for what it was, and everything you looked to arrange through the hotel (tours / transport) was all extortionately priced. If you walked out the hotel front & arranged a taxi yourself, it would be 1/3 of the price. Overall though, we felt that Rwanda was very expensive so the hotel room cost could simply be a reflection of the area. Also, check the amount they charge you when you checkout! We booked through booking.com with a 10% genious discount, and they tried charging me full price during checkout. It took 15 minutes of standing at the counter & showing them my booking details before they relented (like there was any other choice) before they changed the invoice to the correct amount. Would we stay again? probably not

From the moment I arrived at Hotel des Mille Collines, I had the distinct feeling that I was somewhere special—not just a hotel, but a place with soul, character, and charm gently wrapped in the warm Rwandan sun. The staff, without exception, were utterly delightful. Kind, helpful, and full of quiet good humour, they made everything feel effortless. Whether it was navigating breakfast choices or helping me untangle my thoughts after a long day’s travel, there was always someone on hand with a smile and a solution. The hotel itself has an old-world elegance—graceful without being grandiose. Sitting by the pool, watching the city hum just beyond the gates, I found myself slipping into that rarest of moods: contentment. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the food fresh and thoughtful, and there’s a sort of quiet dignity in the way the hotel carries its storied past while looking confidently to the future. Kigali is a city of warmth, resilience, and energy—and Mille Collines fits it perfectly. I left reluctantly, already plotting my return, and certain that when I do, it will feel like coming home.

A great hotel with a very friendly and professional staff. Everyone is happy to help. The atmosphere is lovely; the food is good - with a wide ranging breakfast buffett; sitting by the pool having dinner in the evening with live music is just great. Rooms are clean, tidy and well equipped. Being able to check in baggage for Brussels Airlines at the hotel is very handy if you are staying here before your flight home. Have stayed before and will stay again if I am passing through Kigali.

Nothing I can think of?

The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet had good variety. Our dinner on our last night was delicious, the Caesar salad had good flavour, as did the curry. The Sauvignon Blanc was perfectly chilled!

The air conditioner in the room was rather noisy. There was no chair on which to enjoy the balcony and the view (room 104). The book on hotel services might need to be updated. It said there was no Sunday restaurant option for dinner, but when we inquired at reception, the restaurant was open.

The staff were all very helpful, especially reception. My luggage went missing on the inbound flight from Amsterdam to Kigali with KLM. They made contact with the airport regularly and notified me when it arrived and it s delivered to the hotel for me. The pool and restaurant staff are very attentive.

I did contact the hotel twice before arriving to allocate a twin room, as we were two friends travelling. I did get a response to say, yes. However on arrival this didn’t happen. We did get a pool view to make amends, and we do appreciate it was the 30th commemoration of the genocide.

The room was well appointed and spacious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were great. I was very impressed with the pool and spa services. If you are staying on a Friday - go to the cultural evening it is great. The food was awesome with good sized servings, including the buffet breakfast. We also asked for a couple of food choices not on the menu and the staff willingly accommodated our requests. This made a great stay fabulous.

Excellent internet signal; this can be a reason to stay at this hotel. The interior decorating differs from the photo on their booking.com page. Interior design is currently both elegant and stylish.

When I need to sleep, I don’t think the soundproof wall exists. I can hear people snoring, using water for whatever purpose, and sweeping the floor in the early morning. My husband claimed to have heard the sound of someone cleaning the room late at night. I don't like the live band on weekends. They have lovely and loudly voices, but I felt forced to listen to the playlist I dislike during 11am to 4pm.

Lovely hotel with great facilities. Rooms clean and comfy. Restaurants are have great food, eating out by the pool in the evening with live entertainment is a lovely experience. Stayed before and would stay again. Not too far from airport so makes a good place to a last night before flying home - if you're flying with Brussels Airlines you can check your bags in at their office in the hotel.

Special thanks to these amazing staff Douce, Kenny, Herritier and Boris they celebrated my husband's birthday with us and made our stay at the hotel memorable.

Only that we made a wrong room selection and later realised that there were better rooms that fit our preferences.

Lovely hotel with great staff. Breakfast was a decent buffet (though the toaster takes forever), and the food in the restaurant by the pool was OK.

I stayed three times, and there was an issue with each stay when I checked in. Balcony door not closing or noise in the bathroom 24x7 (which is apparently normal for many rooms!) and a safe not working.
