The location was the best -- right on the main square. Our room looked out toward the beach.The room was clean and simple. Breakfast was great on Planta desayuno. We thought it was wonderful to be able to walk out the door and go to everything in a few minutes. I would love to go back! My husband says the Pan au Chocolat at breakfast were the best he ever had.

Amazing location - views of the sea and the plaza mayor from our room. The hotel provides an excellent value breakfast (8 euros) and a very good lunch and evening menu. We had a fantastic three course lunch with wine (as in, a bottle of wine) for €20 pp. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Love old world charming hotels and this is one!!!! Fab location and so so clean. Didn't eat there but menus looked lovely👍👍👍👍👍

It wasn't a deal breaker but I found the bed somewhat uncomfortable, a bit hard and feel it would have benefitted from a thicker mattress. TV wasn't working but again not a deal breaker and we didn't even mention it to the staff.

The situation : 2mn walk to the beach, in the heart of old town. The hotel : a bit old fashioned looking but so charming, very comfortable room and super clean. The staff : friendly, helpfull, discreet but always ready to help

Lovely hotel on the main Plaza Mayor and next to the beach. Friendly and helpful staff (super helpful in my case) and charming room. Perfect base to access Gijon with the old and new towns and beaches and marinas all a short and pleasant walk away.

Lovely big room and bathroom. Sheets changed daily. Very quiet. Had room with view to the beach which was lovely. Nice TV though I didn’t understand a word of it as everything was in Spanish lol.

Location- in the main square, by the sea and very near the old town and marina, loads of bars and restaurants around, very close to all amenities Beautifully kept, very classy and elegant big and comfortable corner room, with view to the sea and the square. Great beds! Really friendly and helpful reception staff.

This hotel is on the plaza mayor with a beautiful dining room to the side with sea view, I had a juliette balcony overlooking the plaza mayor which I loved

Maybe a small bottle of water could have been left on arrival

The hotel is clean and comfortable and a welcome respite on the Camino Norte. The jacuzzi tub was great! Lunch was very good and I’d definitely stay at the Hotel Astoria’s again.

We stayed in the modern part of the hotel. The room was very spacious with a very large, comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom. The location was perfect and the staff were very friendly.

The paintwork on walls could be freshened up to make it look cleaner in places.
