We were in a corner room with spectacular views, 12 foot ceilings, and a modern wonderful bathroom/shower. There was a fabulous on site Italian restaurant. The area was charming and walkable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making accommodations for my disabled husband.
The only thing I would change about the room was the lighting was too dim for my liking, which seems to be the case with many hotels these days. As for the building, it would be nice to have a wheelchair ramp, though I’m not sure how this could be accomplished on the historical property.

We booked a room with two queens. It was very good sized with plenty of space to spread out. Our room looked out onto some charming older buildings on the street and though we were on a lower floor, it was surprisingly quiet. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was likewise spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.
The location, while not up top in the historic Fontainebleau Hotel District, was located near a number of shops, restaurants, and the museum of civilization. The funicular was conveniently located a couple of blocks away for a quick ride to the upper part of the city.

The property is modern and the staff are very friendly. It’s busy with tourists in a very busy tourist city.
The breakfast is well below the standard you would expect for this kind of hotel. If they bought in some local patisserie this would already improve things. I think that they are losing business because most people will choose breakfast elsewhere unless included after trying it one time. Our bed was a little small, it was just a double and maybe I should have looked this up before booking but it made for an uncomfortable sleep.

We stayed in an absolutely beautiful, enormous corner room with spectacular views of the river (and cruise ships coming and going), lower old Quebec City, and the Frontenac lit up at the top of the hill! The location was particularly appealing, as it afforded easy access to arrive by car while also near so many restaurants, shops, and museums, yet was located on a very quiet (safe) street). The hotel had overbooked the room we had originally reserved, so they upgraded us at no additional cost to a suite and it did not disappoint. There is a parking deck near the hotel, so getting in and out of the city by car was quite easy. We will stay here again on our next visit!

Very quiet room. Spacious and newly renovated. Lovely large bathroom with everything i needed. Our room was perfect. The first floor of the hotel had little areas to read and enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Very good quality teas and coffee available at all times. I stay exclusively at 4 and 5 star hotels. I would rate this very close to a 5. It was a nice small quiet hotel. I do not like large touristy hotels and this was definitely not one of them.
the front desk is not very stately. Could do with an upgrade but this is just a minor flaw in design. Gym could be a bit more spacious-seems a tad too close.

Lovely stylish hotel with a pleasant ambience and excellent location. Very friendly staff with complimentary coffee machine next to reception. Brilliant. We had a deluxe king room, which had an enormous bath and walk-in shower. Lively Italian restaurant part of hotel. Quiet location but right next to the old town and funicular up to the chateau area.
Pity that rooms are only guaranteed from 4pm (we got ours around 3pm) as we arrived early morning off a cruise ship. However, staff looked after our luggage, allowing us to explore the city. On our return, the room was spotless and very comfortable.

Hotel 71 is an exceptional hotel to stay at. It is a 5 minute walk from the cruise terminal and a 5 minute walk to the Funiculaire-du-Vieux-Quebec ($5) which takes you up to the Hotel Frontenac. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped with all the things a traveller could ask for. The reception area was warm and welcoming with coffee and a wine station. The breakfast was continental in style with a vast array of fruit and pastries to start the day. There is a luggage store to put your cases in when you arrive, and then they appear in your room as you return from exploring the city.
There is nothing to dislike about this property.

Stayed in room 622 (classic room plus) for one night 27-28 September for $311,84 CAD. Our room was ready two hours before check in! Beautiful comfy bedding and robes (available for purchase in the lobby). Lovely high ceilings. Spacious bathroom with walk in rain shower. OK view of Chateau Frontenac all the way to the left, and another landmark all the way to the right. Located on a beautiful street in the old town. Beautifully designed, stylish lobby area with several separate sitting areas good for quiet relaxation. Environmentally conscious. Free coffee, tea, water, hot chocolate in the lobby. Impeccable service with a smile. Nice little gym. Well equipped with a great view. Speedy room service even at the peak of dinner service in the restaurant.
The bed was too small. The room could easily accommodate a king size. The in-room decor could greatly benefit from an injection of personality such as that found in the stylish lobby areas. There was an iron but no ironing board though they might have brought one up if requested, I don’t know.

We left our bags at the front desk after we checked out so that we could explore Quebec City a bit more and when we returned, our car was parked out front and packed with all of our belongings! It doesn’t get better :) I purchased a bottle of wine in the lobby one night (very convenient) and the staff insisted on sending up an ice bucket. Our room was just as lovely as pictured and the rain shower was outstanding. Loved the view. Convenient location and comfortable bed.

Hotel 71 is located on the Old Port are of Quebec, below the walled portion of that city. This part of the city contains many excellent restaurants and bars, and is pedestrian-friendly. Quebec is without doubt the most beautiful city in North America, clean and safe, and hospitable. We were extremely fortunate to be able to find an on-street parking space for our entire stay, saving us having to pay about $40/night to park in a city deck {the hotel does not have parking}. Hotel 71 is in an old commercial building that has seen an extensive modern renovation to high standards, and shares the building with a high-end art gallery and a high-end Italian restaurant. Our room had a view of the St. Lawrence River. It was large and had high ceilings and a modern bathroom. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. There was a beautiful and large lobby area that included an interesting wine dispensing machine drawing from a wide selection of top labels. We found an exceptional vegan restaurant {Don's} a block away, and an exceptional French-style restaurant on the opposite corner {Cafe Louise}. The price for our two nights was not bad considering the substantial cost of the renovations to this old building.
The hotel breakfast was convenient, as it was open early {whereas area restaurants were not, in most cases}, but did not include any hot food options. It was a bit pricey at $17.50 for a continental breakfast. One of the two elevators was out of service during our stay, which required some waiting to get up and down {or use of the stairs}.
