Fabulous location overlooking the sea and the rainforest with 3 pools to choose from. The rooms were beautifully clean and spacious, fantastic bathroom and a large balcony overlooking the forest. The staff were the key to it all, being so kind and helpful and permanently friendly in a very genuine way. The avocado on toast for breakfast was lovely and you could happily order extras as well and they offered you unlimited drinks too. We did too trips with the guide Victor who was really knowledgable, friendly and very enthusiastic. I couldn’t fault anything during our 4 days stay.

Nothing

The location was the biggest surprise. Then the way it was built up and arranged. We are literally in the jungle with a direct view on the ocean. The room was spacious, clean, stunning balcony with a mind blowing view. If you wake up early enough, monkeys, iguanas, birds come around to eat by the window. At night, raccoons are out with the frogs! The staff was extremely present and always here to help or manage your needs. Special wink to Javier at the front reception who taught us so much about the local life and wildlife.

Dinner finishes early. The snack menu is fantastic but they usually restrict the access starting from 5pm.

This was an absolute fantastic place to stay in Nosara! Very accessible to the local beaches and restaurants. And a huge plus having the Reserva Biológica Nosara steps away from the hotel. The Rerserva had amazing trails and beautiful flora/fauna. In addition to all of this, they have 3 pools of varying temperatures including a heated jacuzzi. Best of all was the staff! Super friendly and accommodating. The Lagarta Lodge gets a 10/10!! Looking forward to visiting again. p.s. Howler monkeys hang out near the balconies! Very cool :)

It was amazing! We were so impressed of this outstanding place! Perfect breakfast, very nice and clean room (we had the Deluxe Room), with an impressing balcony including sea view, so friendly personnel, great pools and a huge selection of many activities. This place leaves nothing to be desired. Our future hotels will be struggle about keeping up with this one ;-)

Maybe a shuttle service after 4 pm for evening beach visits. But otherwise is nothing to improve.

Unmatched views of unspoiled coastline including the Ostional beach where we saw turtles hatching. Restaurant setting was very soothing with excellent red snapper. Staff was very attentive and fast (albeit in very low season). The cocktails at sunset were unmatched. You could spend long hours in the infinity pools relaxing with the views. Enjoyed the choice of pool temperatures as well as the nice outdoor shower in our bedroom.

Having a buffet for breakfast could have been a good choice. The road up to the hotel is certainly quite an adventure especially after a heavy downpour but they offer excellent shuttle service. As they post on the parking lot "bad roads bring good people".

Road to get there was long and bumpy, but once there everything was fantastic. The staff was particularly wonderful. So friendly and helpful. The pools were clean and perfect temperature, and the views were outstanding. So neat being right next to the nature preserve!

The pillows and bedding were fine, but didn’t match the quality of everything else.

The most incredible room I have ever stayed in. I am not exaggerating. The view and the rainforest sounds. The people that work there are incredibly friendly and helpful. The nature reserve. The pool. The breakfast. It was seriously the best!

Loved it all

Everything! The front desk staff, especially Ernesto, was very patient and welcoming. The views from the room, the pools, the restaurant were all incredible. Such a luxurious and relaxed vibe. The room was huge. The breakfast was delicious and satisfying. We did not want to ever leave! We also really enjoyed the tours with Santos, especially the E-boat.

We like separate beds and it would have been nice to have 2 beds in the main bedroom rather than a king-sized bed.

We were lucky enought to stay in a beautiful room with Ocean View and what a view! The Ocean, the pelicans flying over the river, the monkeys playing in the trees. It was amazing. The pools are incredible, and the sunsets unforgettable. The restaurant is really good and the staff very friendly. Great place to unwind!

The hotel is not directly on the beach but they have shuttles to get there and it's an easy walk.

This place is amazing. Everything is perfect: The location with the view, the friendly staff, the rooms, the food, the pools, the nature, it’s clean, just wonderful. We‘ve seen a lot around the world but Lagarta Lodge is an unbeatable and beautiful hotel. A short drive to the beaches including Guiones (the hotel offers a shuttle service if you do not have a car).
