A visit to this property is a must try for those who love jungle and wildlife. The service quality is top notch, far better than what premium chains can offer (CGH itself is such a renowned one!). The staff are exceptionally helpful and go that extra mile to make you feel at home. We were back from a European trip, and all the euphoria of that holiday is now a matter of the past after this incredibly good break at WW. My 9-year old daughter participated in the Creek Walk and the Little Chef initiatives organised by the resort, and has learnt so much about wildlife in the past few days than in the last several years. The rooms were so well appointed with large windows on two sides to give you a panoramic view of the jungle. Best of all, the air was so crisp that my own allergies took a sabbatical. For the money you pay, this resort is an absolute gem! We are totally relaxed and hope to visit this resort again in the future.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike.

Absolutely everything! I booked the stay to go on small break from the city life - just wanted to be in nature and feel better. Initially I was skeptical about the property basis the photos, thinking it might not match the pictures. But honestly, the property was exactly as shown in the photos. It is nestled inside the rain forest. The only sounds you will hear are birds, insects, monkeys and the occasional elephants. To eat breakfast and dinner with the sound of a creek whilst seeing beautiful greenery really helped reset my nervous system. The food was fantastic - primarily Kerala food made from local ingredients. They also had some staple dishes in case if Kerala food is not something you want to try (but absolutely should - it was divine). They do not have room service and primarily do buffet food but have a limited a la carte menu as well. The cottage was extremely spacious and sufficiently distant from other cottages. It was clean, comfortable, decently decorated and self-sufficient. Slept so well because of the nature sounds - especially rain since I visited during the monsoon. They have a prompt buggy service as well. The staff was very accommodating and helpful - always served with a smile and even when we made certain requests, they were happy to oblige. The pool is lovely but if you are visiting in non-summer periods, the water can be very cold. Vibes are great though - an infinity pool in the middle of a forest is immaculate. The best part was the list of in-house activities - it brought out my inner child. They had walks, talks and live cooking - all very interesting and engaging. Would recommend for a great time away from the daily hustle-bustle. Came back feeling very rejuvenated :)

Nothing as such. But if they really want to up the game, should consider including a spa and heating for the pool

Desserts should have been more local cuisine than Mousse, cakes etc. They should also plan some more indoor activities given the torrential rains that made us unable to move for any outdoor activities (some of which had to be cancelled too) Too much rains meant clothes stayed wet throughout the stay for over 3 days. Need to ensure some consideration for the same

Nature walks and activities run by the hotel were excellent. Food was good and the pool was lovely! The setting is very peaceful, you really feel like you’re up in the hills. All in all we had a fantastic stay!

Im nit picking a bit, but service was a little inconsistent with some staff members going out of their way to help, whereas we struggled to get clear information out of others. We would also have appreciated a bit more help/ recommendations when looking to organise activities outside the hotel - the focus was very strongly on guests doing hotel run activities so we had to arrange outside things ourselves.

the food was awesome and the staff amazing. the presence of naturalists and the multiple activities was really nice, and the kids loved them. it felt like a luxurious hideout in the middle of a forest. loved the variety of food and the attention to detail by the chef and going out of their way to make us feel pampered. the naturalists are amazing and we were literally spell-bound by their talks and walks on the property. would love to go back!

After climbing a most impressive pass comprising of no more than 9 hairpin bends we popped out at the top to find the town of Wayanad. A jeep ride later traversing tea plantations we entered the heavily forested wonderland, which is the setting of the Wayanad Wild Resort. This CGH property is very well appointed, suitably understated to blend into the surroundings and clearly well managed by David Raju and his team. David is a leading naturalist in India having recently compiled two field guides on southern and central India with one on western India about to go to press. We saw things here that we had not seen elsewhere, particularly on the night tours, including 8 frog and 5 snake species! The rooms were very comfortable and the food was delicious. Our one night stay here, particularly the walks with Umesh, were memorable.

We loved the peacefulness and tranquility of the property. The property is secluded from the hustle bustle of the city. The staffs were extremely helpful. The night walk was very interesting. We recommend to do night walks every night so that you may be able to spot different species. The helpfulness of the staff with smiling face was indeed heart warming. They served us some special dishes that we wanted to try at no cost. This was such a warm gesture to recieve. It would be helpful if the restaurant timing are extended a bit as it may be too early for some guests. The space was very clean. We were extremely pleased to see the usage of non plastic products within the property. This stands true from comb to toothbrush, shampoo bottle and any small things that you may notice.

The property should have kept spa facility. I am sure guests would love it within forest. The property should also promote more local food than North Indian food. The road to property was very troublesome - but this is something that property can't do anything about and we understand it. May be they should keep a TV or something for guest to entert

The location is excellent in mids of the jungle. The room view was magnificent and I just enjoyed sitting on the patio and sipping a warm coffee. It's just the right place to unwind and forget all the worries. The staff is very courteous and always available to help. The naturalist who took us on Nature walks and trails were very knowledgeable and passionately loved what they did. The food is really good and we enjoyed every bit of it. They had a really good spread on the buffet. On every trail we went they provided us with leech socks, gumboots and umbrellas to keep us safe.

The staff were extremely warm and helpful. I travelled with my wife and two year old toddler. They were kind enough to cater to the food preferences of my wife ( serious allergy to wheat) and my toddler. Their naturalists were great and informative. The cabin was clean and well maintained. The location is one of a kind. We will definitely like to come back again or maybe explore the rest of the CGH properties.

It's not about not liking, maybe they could have a few more activities for toddlers for eg. like a baby pool ? A section for engaging the kids with a small play area with natural materials keeping with the ethos of the place

Extraordinary setting, this little patch of rainforest surrounded by tea and coffee plantations. Hardworking, conscientious staff dedicated to the natural history mission of the institution. Some of the staff, especially the Director, are highly knowledgeable naturalists. Well designed cabins, dining area, swimming pool, all overlooking the forest. Excellent food and daily wildlife walks around the property and nearby areas with staff.

I make a habit of exercising at hotels but they had no gym. That said, lots of hill walks available and a small swimming pool mostly did the job. It would be easy to offer the guests yoga mats for exercises in their rooms. Also I was disappointed not to be able to have a glass of wine or beer with dinner. No alcohol there.
