The staff, especially Lucy, was AMAZING. They arranged for a taxi to pick my wife up at 5:00 a.m. in the dark. She doesn't speak English, but they always went the extra mile to help her. When she needed PNG Kina cash across the street, the staff put on another layer of clothing over their uniforms to escort her to get cash from the ATM. They took het to buy a SIM card, to Western Union, and The High Commission of The Solomon Islands. They arranged a taxi for her and an airport employee on her day off to go sightseeing for a day for only 80 Kina ($28), WAY less than Local Guides that wanted to charge me $300/day. They never left her in a quiet corner of the hotel or grounds on her own. They even arranged to take her to the airport at the unreasonable hour of 4:30 a.m. this morning. She couldn't camp out there over night. The airport closes at night and doesn't re-open until 3:00 a.m., I have NEVER seen a hotel go THAT far out of their way to take care of a guest. Absolutely amazing considering it is the 2nd cheapest hotel in Port Moresby and only 1.2 km from the airport. I can not more highly recommend a hotel anywhere in the world for customer service and that is after I have been to 170+ countries!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. I was given a very spacious room (executive) in the same building as reception and the restaurant. The airport shuttle was great, and it was good to be able to pay through booking.com so I didn't need to worry about cards working at the hotel (although it worked fine to pay for meals). Complimentary breakfast was fine, with great fruit. Other meals were simple but very good. Compared to the fancier hotels this one is very good value for POM. Close to the airport but not too close. Pool good for a cooling dip.

WiFi was a bit patchy, had to find the right place in my room to get a good signal.

The Room Facility was Ok with it's amanities though I was told that we get a complimentary breakfast the next day but that didn't eventuate when we checked out at 10am. But I enjoyed the Customer Service by the Female Staff at the Reception ( Davera ) she was exceptional. 10/10 .

The Long PNG Power Black outs twice and the Water went out then it became uncomfortable with no backup Genset. It was the Only Experience that made my Stay uncomfortable. Needs improvement on that. I will be visiting often when I am in the country.

Our room was excellent even compared to our last 2 stays there. The storage space was ample and the shower/ablution area was much better laid out. The staff were always friendly and wanting to be helpful but in a typical shy PNG style of way. The restaurant food standard has improved over last visits. They respected visits of our PNG family and friends (wantoks) who came to see us there. We were very grateful for this.

I hate criticizing Hideaway as generally it is a wonderful spot but some things need pointing out as a way of improving for the future. We will be staying there again. Firstly, we were given a basic quality room when we had booked a more expensive twin delux. It took 3 complaints before we got the room we had ordered. I suspect this was due to staff inexperienced and not what usually happens. Next, the quality of the complimentary breakfast has fallen significantly; the same boring menu every morning. Finally the wifi internet was unavailable most of our time which meant relying on phone sim card connection.

1.I requested for airport transfer to hotel while booking online. However this wasn't met by the hotel since I waited for nearly an hour upon arrival @ airport and the car never came. I called the Reception twice enquiring if I was gonna be picked up. I was advised transport was on its way but was delayed so I had to find my own way to the hotel. 2. I was never adviced I had complementary breakfast until the 5th day of my stay. This is really unfair. 3. The upgrading of my room. I have been staying in the standard room which I have booking nightly for nearly a week now. I was advised about this when I am about to leave. I am new to this online booking and things like these need to be explained to the guest upon initial check in.

Exceptionally polite, helpful and caring staff in all departments. The pool was a welcome relief from the humidity. The air conditioning was excellent. Cleanliness was 100% Location perfect for the airport. Additional thought was given by the restaurant staff to cater for our daily activities and they were caring when we were a little unwell. Food choices were great.

Mix up regarding the payment online..room plus breakfast was unnecessary due to staff reporting that ALL Bookings.com bookings receive ‘complimentary breakfast’ WITHOUT additional cost. This is a Booking.com confusion NOT a Hideaway confusion.

Very friendly and helpful staff, didn't get to try the food through, I was late and restaurant closed. maybe if you give me a discount on another stay I could try the food and provide feedback. :) I also liked the size of the room.

The power outlet for the jug didn't work out. you need to move it. Room 102. Need at least two two towels per room. Also have to work through a crowded press conference to my room, so privacy was lost. maybe next time move the conference somewhere so guests can have privacy. I also didn't like the location because I couldn't drive out at night due to security reasons around the 6 mile area.

With Port Moresby being very spread out, it's a choice to decide where to stay. Only 5 minutes drive from the airport & taxi rides away from the few tourist sites, this suited me. The restaurant was excellent! Staff were very friendly & receptive. The pool is a nice place to while away a bit of time.

I didn't get a my requested early wake-up call. The shop was almost always closed.

I upgraded to a spacious deluxe room with aircon of course. Good privacy (one way glass widows) and not too much 'other customer' noise. The pool was great during the hot days. Actually a bar b que meal order around the pool is a more economical deal than the restaurant in residence. The complimentary breakfast was generously ample. I found all the staff friendly and helpful. The lush tropical well-kept gardens gave ambiance to the place and provided ample shade.

The tv reception was ok but could have been better. Our shower water was tepid and not hot/warm.

Enjoyed the comfortable ride from the airport. The room was awesome I feel worth the money and am glad I chose Hideaway that afternoon thus appreciated the ladies at reception who checked me in on 20/06/2022, very welcoming, complimentary breakfast attached with my booking thus enjoyed the great breakfast provided till checkout on 24/06/2022. I have stayed a couple of times at Hideaway before the COVID-19 pandemic but this stay was the best, very impressed with the new-look reception and room I stayed in

The water pressure was very low from day 1 and did not use shower much as water just dribbling down, not a good steaming shower; despite reporting on day 2 no improvement was noted.
