A Hidden Gem in Santa Marta – Casa Verano Beach Hotel My stay at Casa Verano Beach Hotel was nothing short of incredible. From the moment I arrived, it felt like my own personal oasis—calm, peaceful, and beautifully welcoming. The staff was truly exceptional: friendly, attentive, and always going above and beyond to ensure a perfect experience. The property itself was spotless and beautifully maintained, with a tranquil atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every detail, from the service to the setting, made the stay feel luxurious yet laid-back. If you’re looking for a serene, high-quality experience in Santa Marta, I couldn’t recommend Casa Verano more. I’m already counting down the days until I can visit again!

The staff were incredible, they made our visit exceptional. Super friendly and accommodating, delivering food directly to the pool and making adjustments to our cocktails on requests.

Breakfast was ok, all the options were very similar and there could have been more variance, especially for vegetarians. Also, they kept oversalting the food. The second breakfast I asked for only a little salt and it was still too much. The one after that I asked for no salt at all, and it was still too salty. It's quite difficult to remove salt from a dish once it's in and it did ruin the meal unfortunately. Also, the pillows in the room were very uncomfotable, they were filled with too much air and the quality of the fabric was poor.

The hotel is situated in a very quiet area about 20 mins by taxi out of Santa Marta. It is set well back from a road with no through traffic. The hotel has only about 11 rooms. Although it has high rise condominiums to one side and direct access to the beach through a private gate it remains mostly quiet. The hotel is in a small garden with a small pool and a few loungers. It also has outside tables and chairs where you can take breakfast The room was reasonably spacious, comfortable and had a sea facing balcony. There was a safe and plenty of space for belongings. It was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very good.

This was the only hotel in Colombia where we were not offered a welcome drink. We were however given a list of rules of dos and don'ts with associated penalties which we were required to sign before we could check in. Not the best welcome to the hotel! The shower in the room was particularly useless. It changed temperature during the shower from extremely hot to very cold without touching the controls.

We booked last minute and we got one of the smaller rooms but that was ok. We were out exploring most of the time anyways. The cafe they have was 10/10. Being able to walk out back and have a good meal was one of my favorite things here. The beautiful women that cooked our food was top tier and some of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. The staff was amazing! Always had an answer for every question I asked. The location was beautiful and quiet. Was so nice to come back from the beach, shower outside and lay by the pool with my girl till sunset. I would most definitely stay here again.

The food portions were kinda small for me but i wouldn’t knock off stars for that. I’m just a bigger guy who can eat haha

The hotel was a perfect last stop on our trip. It was very relaxing. The pool area had plenty of lounges and shaded areas to sit. The beach is just outside the gate. Our room was comfortable and the AC worked well. Breakfast was cooked to order and we had two excellent dinners at the hotel. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful.

Everything was wonderful during our stay. From the early morning airport transfer which was pre-organised and straightforward, they had then prepared our room so we were able to check in early and get settled. Our room was clean, comfortable and with incredible views over the garden and sea. The staff were friendly and helpful, any issue or question we had they immediately resolved. One morning we spontaneously decided to do a day trip and they organised it all for us with very little notice. The breakfasts were delicious and served out in their beautiful garden which was a fabulous start to the day. The hotel itself and the grounds are so beautiful and so well kept, it felt like a slice of paradise. Sitting by the pool or in a cabana on the beach at the end of the garden, with bar service throughout the day, was truly a luxury. The sea is mere steps from the back door of the hotel too. In between big condos and hotel buildings, it was a tiny house-like building which made us feel totally at home. It was also absolutely quiet, we slept so peacefully every night. Easy to get a taxi to town for bars and restaurants, but we loved being secluded and far away from the noise. Wonderful stay, highly recommend coming here!!

Honestly difficult to find even a single thing to criticise, it was beyond our expectations. I found the mattress a little firm, but that is just my preference. There is nothing else I can think of at all!

The Hotel felt very exclusive, right on the beach, and staff were absolutely brilliant. Everyone was friendly, helpful and always smiling. I spoke to a few and they said they like working there. I also met the owner - I didnt know he was the owner until later - and he was lovely, interested in knowing a bit about us and what we think of Colombia. Later we spoke to staff and they all said they like the oweners and they really care about the place and treat everyone well. The room was also super clean and confortable. Facilities were lovelly with tables for dinning near the pool, also louging chairs and hammocks around the garden. Great place to chill, read a book, have a drinks by the pool or the beach. It's very quiet overall - which you will apreciate as there is music and party in everywhere in this part of Colombia. It's peaceful and loads of nature around. Breakfast was lovely, fulfilling and we spotted so many different kind of birds near us every day while having breakfast by the pool. Also felt very safe inside, completely safe. Outside during the day as well (just dont leave stuff on the beach unatended), only at night that is not recommended to walk around. Overall we felt saver than Cartagena. The area was okay, but it's a bit far from Santa Marta (mainly because of traffic), in a neighbourhood with mainly condominiums and partment buildings. Cabs are cheap and Casa Verano can call one for you in minutes. Very convinient. The house itself, although it surrunded by building has a lovely garden full o plants and trees, also a large green area next door with lots of trees and birds, which give the impression is near nature, and the beach in front of the property. It's a great place to chill, go to the beach, do a tour here and there and spend time on the pool and the jacuzi. Excellent place, highly recommend. We loved it and really enjoed our time here. Not a negative, just to consider depending on your plans. If you want to party this It's a bit far from Santa Marta but mainly because of traffic. By car it can take 20 min without traffic, to an hour around rush hour. But this is not a problem as Santa Marta is lively and we really apreciated the peace and quiet when we came back to the hotel, every time :-)

The hotel was absolutely amazing. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast menu was small but quality was excellent. Once we had lunch and dinner and all food were really great. Beach is literally one door away from the hotel. And beach was quiet, clean and beautiful.

Nothing to say here

A small boutique hotel which guarantees an exceptional level of service and offers the opportunity to relax and enjoy the hotel and its grounds. The hotel is situated on the beach and offers lovely gardens and a pool and jacuzzi. The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive. The menu, although small, offers great local dishes, which we found to be delicious- the ceviche was fantastic. The WiFi was also very good, which was important as we needed to do some work on a couple of days.

I honestly can’t think of a single thing that we did not like.

Loved the laid back relaxed environment. Great place to vacation from the vacation. Because it is a small boutique hotel, the staff were super special and attentive to all our needs.

I didn’t like the cut off times for the restaurant and bar.
