Hotel Soma is located outside the town of Ilulissat just down the road from the Hotel Arctic. The rooms are clean and comfortable with good Wi-Fi. A Danish breakfast is served every morning and good catered hot meals are available every evening for 125 DK. The center of town and the Ilulissat Icefjord World Heritage Site are a walkable distance from the hotel for reasonably fit people. Otherwise, I believe there is a bus that visitors can take to the main tourist sites in town. The staff at the hotel is excellent and helpfully arranged for me to stay another night after my flight was canceled. I highly recommend Hotel Soma. Travel tip: If you want some great views of the ice bergs, walk over to the Hotel Arctic and have a drink on the outdoor patio.

Wifi kind of slow, but OK. When you go to Greenland you are looking for a place to temporarily isolate yourself from civilization - here we go.

Facility The room facilities are very good, the heating is very sufficient, you can adjust the degree according to the need. Cooktop and refrigerator in the kitchenette work well. The room is cleaned every day. View My room has a iceberg view. That’s so amazing. Staff The staff are very friendly and would like to help. I had a problem with my charging plug and the staff lent it to me for free and also provided me with very useful information for travel. Breakfast Breakfast is also good. Nutritional balance

The personnel were very nice and helpful, they picked us up from the airport at midnight. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We liked the common room in which one can stay after check out if needed; moreover, complimentary tea and coffee is available there at all times. Our boat was rebooked last minute and we needed to stay in common space a bit longer to sort out other accommodation - the crew at the hotel was OK with that and even gave us a lift to the other place.

The location is the only disadvantage - the place is very close to the airport but a bit far away from the city center.

It’s only a 20 minute walk to the town centre, but that can get tiring twice a day in the snow after a day of activities. Maybe a shuttle service or bicycle hire?

Overall we were very satisfied, communication with the staff before and during the holiday was excellent. The room was clean (room cleaning very good) and comfortable. Nice view of the fjord. Free transfers to and from the hotel were useful.

The breakfasts were tasty, but soon the sweet pastries were eaten, which were not replenished.

View of a bay packed with icebergs. Lovely staff who were very helpful, and drove me to the airport at the end of my stay. There was a fridge and plates/cutlery in the room which was really useful. Comfy bed, and bug screens at the windows/door to the veranda.

Better coffee would have been good! It's quite a long trek to the main part of the town and the harbour, so take that into account if it bothers you — but there is a bus

We are a family of five including 3 children, and the apartment we lived on the 4th floor was spacious enough and has such an amazing view. We had a comfortable stay and the place made a positive experience for our travels in Ilulissat. I would definitely recommend it to larger families ad anyone wishing a spacious and comfortable stay in one of the most far away locations in the world. Great thanks to the staff member Oraly (from France) for her hospitality and friendliness.

Amazing staff...Instead of a 4 night stay, due to an Icelandair flight cancellation, I could only stay for 1 night. My flight was later than expected in arriving but I was met at the airport by a smiling staff member. Lovely room with neighbouring dog giving a welcome!! Super breakfast and very helpful staff giving me help to get an early walk into Ilulissat before returning to hotel for return trip to airport. Hospitality at its best! Thank you all so much.

This hotel creates a warm atmosphere with its familiar and friendly staff. The breakfast is varied and great. The rooms are cozy with a little kitchen. The view over the Disko Bay is every morning different depended on the morning light. If we come back to Greenland, we will be back here in the hotel immediately.
