Hotel Anticos Palathos is a tastefully renovated old palazzo with one of the most beautiful interiors I have ever seen in a hotel, especially the lobby, bar and breakfast areas. The staff were superb - they were always so friendly, happy to see us and to answer the many questions we had about the area. We felt like we were surrounded by friends for the entirety of our stay. The optional breakfast was excellent too.

I would have preferred stronger air conditioning in our room, as it stayed quite hot even with the air conditioning on maximum settings for long periods of time.

Where do I begin? I'm so happy I chose this hotel, everything was amazing! Even my husband said, "What a great choice you made" The building itself is full of charm and history, and the authenticity of the place really stands out. The breakfast was absolutely perfect. It's surprisingly hard to find hotels in Italy that serve eggs for breakfast, but after doing some research on hotels in Orosei, I discovered this is one of the very few that offers hot eggs. The breakfast also had a great variety overall, with both salty and sweet options. The hotel was also very quiet, which made our stay even more relaxing. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the location couldn’t be better, the hotel is right in the heart of Orosei! :) You honestly can’t find a more central spot. Overall, I loved everything about my stay and highly recommend this hotel!

The only downside for me was that our room felt a bit cramped. I believe this could easily be improved by removing some of the unnecessarily large furniture, like the oversized sofa and the coffee table. With a bit of rearrangement, the space would feel much more comfortable. Otherwise, everything was perfect!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Hotel Anticos Palathos! The hotel itself is full of charm, set in a beautiful historic building in the heart of Orosei. The room was comfortable, clean, and full of character, blending traditional Sardinian style with modern amenities. What made my stay truly unforgettable was how the staff went above and beyond to make my stay special. A special thanks to Andrea that welcome us on the checkin with a truly friendly and helpful approach and to Olivia, that served us breakfast always with a friendly smile. Something that was really special on this stay was how they surprised me with a beautifully decorated breakfast table and a personalised message on my birthday day such a thoughtful and touching gesture that made my day extra memorable! The breakfast itself was delicious, with plenty of local bakery and fresh options. The location is perfect for exploring the old town and nearby beaches. I would highly recommend Anticos Palathos to anyone looking for an authentic and warm experience in Sardinia. Thank you to all the staff – I can’t wait to come back!

This was the final place of six that we stayed on the island and it rated number one for us. We really loved the character and feel of this quaint old hotel. We had a nice view across the rooftops and a clean and tidy room. Breakfast in the beautiful courtyard area was excellent with plenty of choice and the best hot chocolate we'd had in Sardinia. All the staff were attentive and seemed genuinely interested in their customers, asking how their day had been etc. My special request was fulfilled perfectly, many thanks!

There is unfortunately little parking close by and while the hotel does have a shared private parking facility, it is a fair walk away so drop your luggage off first!

This is a charming hotel full of character and history. Excellent location right in the centre of the town. It is also a short drive to stunning Biderosa Beach. We were in a Junior suite with balcony. The Hotel is old and rustic, beautifully decorated and a far cry from the sterile hotel rooms that you sometimes find yourself in. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice and the best coffee we have had. A pot of espresso caffe (enough for 2 cups) and a separate jug of steaming frothed milk so you can have your caffe how you like it. This was a big hit with us! Staff were great, helpful and with very good English. We loved this small town. Oh and free parking a 10 min walk away.

Absolutely nothing

Nice little hotel in the center of Orosei, with uniquely designed rooms. They have private parking 500m from the hotel, but you can park in front of the hotel temporarily to unload/load luggage. Very nice customer service, kept in touch with us by WhatsApp.

There are several stairs, so if you have mobility issues, it might not be the best choice. Also, despite the power electric shade, it was pretty bright in the room early in the morning. And I'm not sure why, but there were fireworks at midnight that woke us up. It was July 4th which could be an Italian holiday also, not sure.

I absolutely loved this room and hotel. I had an idea of what it would look like from the pictures but they truly don't do it justice. If you're trying to decide whether to book, just do it! Staff was very friendly, helpful, and communicative when needed. The location was great and walking distance to so many restaurants, shops, etc. I would definitely stay here again and hope to have the chance too!

Great atmosphere, right at the town‘s heart. Cute setting. Great staff, very attentive and helpful.

Not as peaceful as we would have expected. From room Nues (highest one up at the hotel) there was exposure to quite some noise. We stayed from Saturday to Monday and it never seemed quiet, e.g Saturday there was live music nearby until past midnight and traffic in the mornings - Especially the Monday, as one of the main streets go directly past the hotel

Room was extremely spacious and clean. We loved the aesthetics of the hotel, a true gem in the heart of Orosei. Maria Teresa and Andrea were amazing, giving us plenty of useful tips and always accommodating. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options. Honestly, we couldn't ask for more!

Nothing. Everything was great!

Although we were only there for one night, this was one of the most memorable places where we stayed during our tour of Sardinia. The hotel is in the centre of town and very characterful, and our room on the first floor was delightful and roomy. We also had shared access to a wonderful outdoor terrace directly outside. The receptionist was very helpful, particularly in guiding us to a place to park (not easy in the old town) and recommending an excellent restaurant only five minutes away. We had not booked breakfast, but decided to pay a supplement to do so, and were very glad we had. It was served on an outdoor terrace, and included cooked breakfast as well as a range of cold foods, among them delicious home- made jams and cakes. Our only regret is that our stay was so short!

The hotel faces directly on to the main road running through Orosei and has no parking facilities. The free parking in the nearby main square was full when we arrived, and it was difficult to negotiate the narrow streets of the old town, the one-way system and parking restrictions to find somewhere else. This is not a criticism of the hotel at all (as mentioned, the receptionist was as helpful as he could be), but something to be aware of if you arrive by car.
