Great building and location, great breakfast

Absolutely enchanting! Our recent stay at Pug Seal Edgar Allan Poe in Mexico City was nothing short of magical, a true testament to refined hospitality and thoughtful design. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of serene elegance. Our Executive Suite was a dream. Bathed in natural light, the room offered breathtaking views that felt like a living painting. The mornings were particularly special, with the sweet melodies of singing birds serenading us outside our windows – a perfect, tranquil start to each day. The spaciousness and tasteful decor of the suite created a luxurious yet comfortable haven. Speaking of mornings, the fresh juices and vibrant fruits served were a delightful and healthy indulgence. It was clear that quality and care were paramount. We also thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful outdoor sitting areas, perfect for relaxing and soaking in the charming ambiance of the property. These spaces provided a peaceful retreat from the bustling city, allowing us to unwind in style. The staff at Pug Seal Edgar Allan Poe are truly exceptional. Their attentiveness and genuine warmth made us feel not just like guests, but like cherished friends. They anticipated our needs before we even voiced them, ensuring a seamless and utterly enjoyable experience. Their dedication to providing personalized service is a rare and treasured quality. The location is another highlight. Nestled on a quiet, picturesque street, the hotel offered a peaceful respite while remaining conveniently close to everything Mexico City has to offer. We found ourselves easily strolling to numerous attractions, restaurants, and shops, making our exploration of the city effortless and enjoyable. Small hotel in an old mansion. Well appointed rooms. Just half a block from the main shopping and dining area in the Polonco neighborhood. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast included. Met guests from all over the world.

This is a beautiful unique hotel, a renovated mansion in the lovely neighborhood of Polanco. Our suite on the top floor was huge and sunny, super comfortable with historical details like decorative ceiling moldings. Two bathrooms! We enjoyed the robes and slippers, all with a cute logo of the hotel. The ground floor had a lounge area with generous snacks provided daily like fresh juice, sweet rolls, fruit, and peanuts. We also enjoyed the bicycles, no extra charge, which we rode to beautiful Chapultepec park, 10 min away. The breakfasts were exceptional, a generous selection on the menu with fresh juices, and coffee selections. Our waiter Johnny was so friendly and helpful, Israel was always helpful too and Karen the concierge was lovely.

The overall ceiling lighting in our suite was dim in the main room and especially the bathroom, and it would have been better to have some standing lamps also. Also the fabulous double shower was lousy in that the pressure went up and down and even completely off at times. We only used the shower in the second bathroom which was excellent. The door to our suite was sticky and required frustrating maneuvering to get it to lock.

Nice quiet location, just off the main street in Polanco with lots of high end shops and restaurants. Very safe neighbourhood and great for a morning run. Room was fine, nothing special but clean and tidy and hot drinks and free filtered water just outside. The building is charming like an old small mansion. No external noise from the room. Highlight was the cooked breakfasts which were excellent. 24 hour check in available. Very comfortable bedding.

The aircon was quite noisy and we couldn't adjust it, so we had a stream of air blowing into us in bed.

Excellent location, cozy and classy. The staff is very kind and they always try to make you feel at home.

The breakfast was wonderful. The drinks that were available during the day was a nice touch, even though I never had any. The bathroom was a nice size. I loved that I was given a robe and super cute slippers. All the staff were super nice, even the night guard when I came in super late.

I was only one person in the room, but this would be tight for a couple with suitcases. But, maybe for two people you'd be in a different room.The courtyard was nice, but it could have been more inviting, lush to sit in. I almost passed the residence a few times and had difficulty with uber because I didn't see the signage for the hotel. Unless I missed it...

our room was on the ground floor next to the staircase and small common mini fridge. there was noise at night from people using the fridge next to room and noise of people above us which sounded like moving tables and chairs early in the morning. But nothing too terrrible, just pointing it out.

Breakfast was wonderful 3 of the days. Fresh custom made delicious breakfast and delicious fresh juice. Sunday was disappointing. Room was a very nice size. The outlets are in strange places so bring extension cords to plug in devices. All of the staff were fabulous. Immaculately clean. Everyone was super helpful.

The street noise was sometimes bothersome. This was beyond the control of the hotel and is probably an issue for everyone in the area. A helicopter the first night and noisy motorcycles the last night. The 2 nights in-between were very quiet. The noise was not continuous or really bothersome, just noticeable. There is no restaurant (except breakfast) as the hotel, but there are terrific places nearby.

After switching last minute from a subpar Airbnb in Roma Norte this place was like a breath of fresh air! Super clean. Super comfy. Super cool. And close to lots of good food and shopping. And the staff were great!

The wait was a bit long at breakfast. One day I took breakfast early and it was quick. Another day I guess I hit the rush, cuz it took longer than I had hoped. That being said, I would absolutely stay there again.
