Excellent hosts, always available with helpful information. Great breakfast every day and we had dinner one night, which was also excellent. The Mas was like a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Avignon, but at the same time Avignon was easily accessible - you can walk into the centre in 35-40 minutes, or you can walk 15 minutes to a free little ferry across the Rhone and then it's just a 5-minute walk into Avignon from the pontoon (but note the ferry only operated until 18:15 when we visited in May). We also appreciated the spacious secure private parking at the Mas.

The property is located just on the outskirts of Avignon, away from the old city in a quiet area close to the river. Luke the owner was very helpful in providing information and recommending restaurants and places to visit. There was plenty of parking and the property had large garden in the front and at the back with a swimming pool, though it was too cold to be outdoors.

Nothing really, the only recommendation would be to have the keycode accessible by car from outside (like inside the property), so one does not have to get out of the car to key in the code to open the gate.

Wonderful stay and Luc is an excellent host. He couldn't do enough for us. He was doing everything on his own as his wife was recovering from an accident. Breakfast was plentiful and all locally produced. He cooked us and another couple a lovely 3 course meal the evening we arrived. He recommended places to go and organised a taxi to take us into the city one evening.

Nothing, really. There are a few steep steps to get into the rooms and breakfast room. It's not a problem for most people apart from if you suffer with mobility problems as I do.

The property was so serene in a very quiet and peaceful area. The location was convenient to spend time in Avignon or drive out to the countryside. The grounds were very picturesque and we really enjoyed relaxing by the pool in the afternoon after a busy day of exploring. There were some really nice restaurants on the island and the ferry across to Avignon was super convenient so you didn’t need to drive or deal with parking in the city. The breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs and cheese along with the wonderful pastries. Luc was a gracious host and made us feel quite at home. I hope to stay again soon.

I loved everything.

The host was extremely accommodating. The garden and pool are beautiful. The location on the island is perfect: peaceful, but close enough to Avignon to be able to walk and catch the ferry. The complimentary bicycles were a real bonus. Breakfast under the pergola was a treat.

There isn't really anything that we didn't like about this accommodation. If you aren't prepared to walk or cycle, you might require a car, but we found being car free on the island was liberating.

The very personable host, Luc, went over and above to make our stay pleasant, from making restaurant reservations and sightseeing suggestions to helping us open a recalcitrant bottle of wine. The room was larger by far than others we had stayed in on our trip; it had its own private entrance, very comfortable beds, and a remote-controlled temperature system we could set ourselves. Breakfasts featured locally-sourced fruit, eggs, yogurt, cheese, baguettes and croissants, jams, and honey.

The drains were a bit sluggish, and the towels, even when fresh, always seemed a bit damp--probably attributable to the hotel's being situated on an island. A heated towel rack might help. The location is best approached for the first time in the daytime so that signposts can be read without street lighting, but we did like the quiet surroundings very much.

Luc was a great host offering suggestions for our daily activities touring Provence. He also served an amazing breakfast in the gazebo despite the imminent rain. We stayed in the family room and it was extremely comfortable, but good to be aware that the stone bedroom does not have many electrical outlets. Mas d’Ile is lovely and feels like being in the countryside despite being so close to the city. Unfortunately, we did not get to take advantage of the pool since it was a bit rainy, but it was a lovely setting and the pool was heated. Bath towels were thick and nice and there were pool towels provided as well. We were very happy to have picked up our rental car upon arrival at the TGV station since getting to the guest house was much further than we had thought. We had originally planned to walk to/from the city using the ferry and uber if needed. However, the ferry was not operating since high season was over (it was mid October), and the days were shorter so the roads were very dark. During summer months walking may not be as big an issue, but having a car is much easier. There was a free commuter parking lot before the bridge or a pay parking lot just over the bridge since driving within the walled city is not fun. We would stay again at Mas d’Ile!

The location was fine. We wanted a place outside of the city, but others should make sure to understand the logistics of getting to the property. If you have a car, it is a non-issue.

The vila is in a beautiful setting with old trees not far from Avignon town, yet away from the busy areas of the city where it’s difficult to park. The rooms were spacious, sparkling clean, well maintained and had a charming little courtyard out the front. The breakfast was sensational, with fresh French pastries from the bakery and other local produce. The host Luc was fantastic and gave us great tips for local activities. I wish we would’ve stayed here longer!

We loved staying here! The setting is absolutely beautiful- it's quiet and surrounded by nature, yet close to so much. We especially loved the pool and fantastic breakfast. The host went above and beyond to make sure all was well and was so helpful to us with planning our day trips. Overall everything was excellent!
