Staying here was a delight. It is an old monastery which has been renovated and opened to the public. The room facilities are modern, but simple in design in keeping with a monastic atmosphere. The breakfast was very good.The view over the Danube is spectacular and the place exudes a sense of charm and tranquility. There is also a large restaurant within the complex so it was easy to get lunch and early dinner (until 7pm, if memory serves me well?). If you are cycling along the Danube, this is a delightful place to stay before getting the ferry through the narrow gorges.

There was a substantial difference between the Booking price and the price if booked directly with the establishment, which also offered a half-board package which would have been very economical.

Wonderful, peaceful, friendly sanctuary. Beautiful location on the bank of the river. Rooms are lovely and very clean. The restoration of the building is of very high quality with great attention to detail. Wifi is super fast. There are beautiful walks around the area, all the way to the neighbouring town Kelheim. There is even a ferryman who takes you to the other side of the river for 2 euros! Resturant has excellent food and is well priced in my opinion. There is a brewery in the monastery and the Barock Dunkel beer is particularly delicious. When coming back from my walk, a monk stopped and helped us with directions, very friendly and so nice. I originally booked two nights but ended up staying for three.

Wonderful location. Very clean room with focus on the necessary essentials - no TV, but well working internet. Very friendly staff. Kloster and garden offer good opportunity for talks and reflection. Self-serviced cafeteria offers drinks and small snacks after office hours. Klosterschänke is superb. The book with St. Benedict's rules (one copy per room) is worth reading.

Not a not like, make sure to be in time for check in and Klosterschänke. Don't arrive after 6 pm!

We'd brought in some outside snacks and drinks but were told when we checked in that we couldn't consume items in the room unless they were bought on the premises, which seemed a bit unfair considering the restaurant last food orders are 6pm, so we ended up having to buy twice etc. Would be good for this be advertised etc but didn't have a negative impact

Excellent location to spend some time and relax. Visited similar places before, but it was my first time here, and I really enjoyed the unique atmosphere of this very special place, in its entirety, and every particular thing in and around - Danube bend and rocky shore on the other side, near and far places to walk around, beer garden (and caffeteria inside), large parking for hotel guests, restful night sleep. Sure I'll visit it soon again.

Once the day visitors leave the monastery a quiet peace pervades. With a fresh monastery beer in hand you can sit on the pebble beach of the Danube and enjoy a warm summer night whilst cooling you feet in the water. If you are drawn to tranquil surroundings with hundreds of years of history and friendly and helpful staff, then this is the place for you. The elaborate breakfast is a super bonus.

Well organized, friendly staff, great food and beautiful location. It is a monastary so the rooms are simple, but the quality of the rooms and furnishings is high.

It is a little bit isolated so that can be an advantage or at least needs to be kept in mind regarding activities.

We loved our stay, this historic place leaves an impression. We ate at the beer garden twice, the food and beer were just fantastic. Can’t wait to return.

The position is amazing, the room very spacious with a fantastic view of the Danube and the breakfast buffet healthy and energetic. There is storage for bikes and a cafeteria with all the Weltenburger beers (and choice of cold/hot drinks), perfect option after 7pm, when the monastery Beergarten closes.
