This was off the beaten path in the Black Forest. Quiet (well, except for the storm that night), clean and comfortable. The view was stunning and it's a pity I didn't have more time there. Big bonus: the food (dinner and breakfast the next day) was superb. The next days of my travel I kept wishing I was back in Oppenau for more meals. The hotel is relatively new construction (a sign said 1981) so wifi, plumbing and such weren't an issue. Strongly recommend.

Stunning scenery, spacious and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast with everything you can dream of (even champagne), friendly staff always willing to help… what else can you hope for?

Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed and we had to find somewhere else to have dinner (but we already knew about the days of the week they’re closed). On the bright side, the staff very gently arranged a reservation for us in a another village nearby. A little bit remote and not easy to access but not enough to pose a real problem.

The staff is very friendly, the rooms were practical for a family of 3. We had to switch the pillows as the first ones provided were quite low, but then it was perfect. The place has a family friendly atmosphere which was cosy and confortable. breakfast was very nice with a great view. The surrounding area looks great for hiking but we had bad luck with the weather at the time, so we couldn't benefit from it much.

Awesome location for a hike and spend quality peaceful time away from City life. Hilly drive to the location n wonderful views. We were in a 4-bedroom, along with our 2-year Labrador and still we had enough space for us all. Our labby enjoyed the surrounding fields… the personal were very friendly n helpful. Food at the restaurant is awesomely tasty and the breakfast is equally great. Coffee is just superb. Service is simply outstanding n very friendly staff.

No coffee machine and/or water heater in the room. Not a must but maybe for the price we pay some sort of free Water/Juice would have been a good gesture except for the little gummi-bear pkts.

Wonderful stay, everything was perfect! Very beautiful and large room, well equipped, comfortable bedding, modern bathroom, generous buffet breakfast, very good restaurant menu. Very beautiful, quiet environment. Perfect as a starting point for visiting and hiking in Schwarz Wald.

It's best to speak a few words of German, but you can always get by! (and the restaurant menu is in French and English).

Hotel was great, quite location and ideal base for exploring the region. We travelled with small children and all the staff were very friendly throughout our stay, The offering at breakfast is very good, and the restaurant relaxing after a busy day exploring.

This is a fantastic place to stay and I would highly recommend a stay here. Dinner and Breakfast were great and the owners really went above what was necessary to make our stay enjoyable.

The mattress was a bit hard for my preference but absolutely everything else was wonderful!

The hotel, run by family, is warm and cozy. You feel home right away. Dogs are welcome and the service is outstanding. The surroundings are beautiful. We highly recommend the junior suite. You can hear the birds chirping and the sound of the creek.

The amazing location, stunning food, quality of the ingredients, the friendliness and generosity of the charming couple who own the hotel, the comfort and wonderful atmosphere. All brilliant!

The hotel is beautifully located in a quiet spot in the Black Forest. My good-sized single room was on the 2nd floor, but there was a lift nearby. I had a shady balcony with table, chair and lovely window boxes of petunias. The staff were polite, friendly and good at anticipating one's needs and likes. Meals were excellent: a generous breakfast buffet, including scrambled eggs and bacon. I had dinner outside every evening. The schnitzels and other dishes were generous in portion size and delicious, especially the accompanying salads.
