Excellent breakfast buffet including eggs cooked to order. Restaurant was of a high standard and fair price. Perfect room: everything in perfect condition, extremely clean, comfy beds, good-sized bathroom, nice balcony with morning sun. Very nice walks straight from the hotel. For dinner, book the restaurant in advance to secure a table.

TV! The hotel claims to have satellite TV but most of the channels weren't working and the rest were in German or Spanish. Only channels in English: BBC World, Sky News and Bloomberg. I don't go on holiday to watch TV, but still I expect that 'satellite' means a range of channels in different languages.

Lovely hotel located in green area of Gengenbach. We had a deluxe room with balcony looking out at greenery. Very pleasant and peaceful. The staff were superb. Very professional and courteous. We were provided with a shuttle pick up from the station which was very kind.

There was nothing I didn’t like. I would say breakfast could have been more varied with more hot options. It is clearly a hotel much favoured by German tourists so perhaps this is the traditional German breakfast!

reception is on the first floor and is slightly confusing when we reach the hotel. otherwise the hotel looks brand new and rooms are very comfortable.

Rooms could have a bit more character but otherwise a great place to stay and really good value for money. It's a shame that the restaurant was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday but a minor gripe.

Very nice modernized hotel on walking distance from Gengenbach and supermarket. Perfect location to discover the Schwarzwald and Baden wine area by food or (e)bike. There is even a bike garage to park your bike safely and recharge i.a. The rooms in the new part are styled very well. Idem for the communal areas, terrace and bathroom (with enough space to put toiletries and a big mirror). On the second floor the rooms have a spacious private balcony and there is a shared sunbathing area with a sauna which can be used. Next to that there is a small fridge/mini bar with different glasses. The bed is perfectly fine. The continental breakfast is very extensive. Different kinds of bread, yogurt, fruit, cereals, eggs and bacon and also knäckebröd. The sweet pastries are not homemade and often they run out. But when I asked they baked some extra. The coffee and tea are good. The juices are ok, but not freshly made. We really recommend the menu in the restaurant, accompanied by the SH wines. Both for dinner and vespers (bites and light food). It might be good to make a reservation in high season. On Fridays they heat up the oven outside for all kind of flammkuchen.

The restaurant and bar are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! So in the evening you will not find anyone if you need something. In summer it gets way too hot in the rooms without any airco. There is a mini bar in the room but no coffee or tea facilities and the reception is unattended at night. We really find it uncomfortable and a pity all double beds only have single sheets and duvets.

A stunning hotel - great attention to detail. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent The setting is lovely, unfortunately the weather was awful but we plan to go back as we’d like to explore the area further.

An excellent hotel: all the staff were very helpful, the location is about a 20 minute walk to the centre but is set in a great area. We decided to have a meal at the hotel and this was to a high standard as was their own wine. All in all a great place to stay.

Large, comfortable room with King sized bed and very well equipped throughout. We ate there both nights we stayed and the food was delicious and well presented. Breakfast was varied with plenty of choice, all freshly prepared.

We love this hotel and have stayed here a half dozen times, every time we visit the Black Forest. It’s in a lovely spot—in the countryside but only a 15 walk to Gengenbach. Ample parking. Amazing breakfast. Friendly staff. Huge rooms with a full suite and balcony. When we stayed over Christmas we got a little Christmas bag of goodies from the staff. It’s just a wonderful place to stay at any time of year.

The room was comfortable and modern with a small walk-out area. Restaurant was very nice for dinner and the local wine delicious. Was close to the old town so was a quick drive. Breakfast was outstanding.
