super clean, nice rooms, nice showers. (actually it would be nice to have an option to skip cleaning on some days.)

they ask hotel guests 10 eur to use their sunbeds and umbrellas. the beach and the sea are nice but some days hotels and bars which are not connected to the sewage network pump in their sewage water into the sea - then it‘s dirty (pieces of toilet paper, oil, etc.) for a day. this is the biggest problem with sougia and it is sad that they do not take it seriously.

This was our first time staying in Sougia having only visited for the day previously. We found it very relaxing with several tavernas to chose from, tried a different one each night and all were good. We had a large studio with an also very large balconey overlooking the sea an ideal location.

nothing to dislike

Nice helpful staff, great location on the beach, close to bus stop, small food stores and restaurants. Clean large rooms included small kitchen. I had to leave a day early because bus service s were being cut back for winter season (not the hotels fault). Also Park with big gorge hike closed, but I enjoyed the local gorge hike using convenient bus drop off at top of gorge.

Location was key to catching ferry to and from Sameria Gorge. By staying in Sougia we didn't have to arrive early or more importantly drive back in the dark after the hike. Although it was the end of the season we received excellent service and enjoyed our balconies room during the full moon.

The mountainous road to Sougia is extremely slow with many tight turns and narrow sections

It’s great location on the sea front with their beach bar just opposite. Generous sized balcony in our room with sea views. A room next to reception to leave our cases for the day that we left as we were on a late ferry out.

Basic kitchen with limited crockery and cutlery.

Mike, who greeted us at reception and throughout our stay, was friendly and helpful. The accommodations are simple but practical, and the beds are very comfortable. It’s a great location to catch the ferry to any of the other towns along the coast.

We loved our stay in this beautiful place. Lovely staff from very nice owners to the cleaners who did wonderful towel art!!! Excellent location, spacious rooms and I’d return in a flash.

Whenever we come to Soughia we stay at Santa Irene and it always is this "coming home" feeling which we appreciate and enjoy so much. We find the ideal combination of cozy accomodation and friendly owners and staff. The rooms are tidy, the shower was really powerful, the garden is like a little paradise to relax, the restaurant offers food and drinks all day long, the view is fantastic and the chairs are very comfortable to hang around and just look into the wide endlessness of the blue sea. There are beds on the beach and everything is kept clean and tidy. There is a lot of passion and work from the owners and all the staff to offer this perfect holiday feeling to the guests. Been to Soughia so many times and Santa Irene has become our homebase there. We will be back!

There is literally nothing to criticize.

We has such a beautiful stay here, everything was perfect. Wonderful helpful staff gave us all the info about where to get the bus tickets for Samaria Gorge, what time the bus leaves in the morning and from where, helped us with our situation of lost phone chargers and gave us helpful awesome advices. The place is so beautiful, full of flowers and lovely seating area in the garden, gorgeous spacious room, modern bathroom with glass door shower, well equipped kitchen, lovely restaurants by the beach, mini market, bakery, bars, coffee shop all at a doorstep. Sougia is such a chilled out place with a lovely vibe of all the hikers relaxing after the amazing Samaria Gorge trek. We loved our stay here.

I have stayed at the Santa Irene previously, prior to the pandemic and enjoyed it, but it’s even better now with updated rooms, a nice garden relaxation area made lovelier by the scent from the jasmine plants, and improved bathrooms. I’ll definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

I honestly can’t think of anything that would improve it, everything was fine.
