The room was very nice, clean, large. It could fit 4-6 people with 2 double beds on the carpeted area and 2 futons on a six tatami floor. The tatami area had a small table for 4 people. It has an onsen, pool, is near the ski area, and they have various activities for kids. There is a herb garden. (We didn't have time to do most of these activities.) Breakfast was good, almost exclusively Japanese style food. Management is very efficient.

This is a very large ski resort hotel, although we visited in the hot summer. It was still almost full. We came in a rental car, but there was no problem parking. The hotel seems very well managed.

The pool costs extra, however it's worth the trip in of itself. After all the hiking It's wonderful to be able to relax in a hotub with your partner / family / group, without having to worry about tattoos, or splitting the group by gender. etc. Onsen is available for free, but you have to go in nude, The location is absolutely stunning and there are countless day trip options in the area.

The food and drinks while not bad by any metric, were mediocre at best. Some of the restaurant options at the hotel are closed, and I haven't found anything worthwhile in the area. You won't go hungry, but if a feast is an important part of the trip for you, lower your expectations.

The spa/pool was great and the staff throughout the hotel were all ever so polite and helpful. The shuttle bus to the station and back was really helpful, but it could do with running a little bit later into the day. The buffet was excellent and the lunch at the restaurant was tremendous value and the hotel shop was very reasonably priced and had everything you needed.

The hotel had no bar or social area to meet and mix, and as I was traveling on my own, it would have been nice to be able to sit somewhere and mix with others. The hotel was also a little bit out of the way. Despite how helpful everyone was, if it wasn't for Google Translate, I would have struggled, so I would hope to see a few more staff being English speaking.

Expensive breakfast, some buildings are in need of repair and maintenance, no satellite TV or Netflix,

All buffet breakfasts and dinner were first class. Huge choice of food. Ski hire was excellent. Room was large by Japanese standards and the view from the rooms large window was stunning.

Nice view of the lake from atop a hill. It also has outdoor activities that we would have tried it we had time. There's a ski lift right outside the hotel too.

The outside Onsen bath is very good, very large and good view. The food is really good too, plenty of food, full of Japanese food and Western food.

Crowded people.
