Super comfortable hotel! Small room but everything is well laid out and thought through making it convenient and comfortable despite the space. Super clean hotel. The staff there is the friendliest i’ve met in Japan, coin laundry is easy to operate and there is a ladies only laundry room, all monitor-able from the comfort of your room from the tv screen. Coffee available at the lobby, Family Mart just downstairs and many restaurants and the hotel is right on the shopping street where the Sunday Market is too. My mum and i absolutely enjoyed our stay for 5 days here.

We chose a spacious room which at 22sqm meant we weren’t clambering over each other with the bed, our luggage, and furnishings. That was great. The ability to open a window. The free access to laundry, that happened to be on our floor and the one above. Lifts fairly quick versus other hotels we’ve stayed in. Stairwell as an option to move between a few floors was also useful.

Pillows are flat. You get one pillow per person. They are apparently a special weave but we found them on the flat side. Onsen is not rooftop like pretty much all other Dormy inns. The hotel itself is older, and I am presuming this is why the onsen was in a more closed-in part of the hotel. Ventilation could be made better there, by opening up more wooden slats that don’t compromise privacy - it gets super steamy with only a people using it.

Most Dormy Inn's are a great place to stay and this one is no exception. This one is located within walking distance of Hirome Ichiba where we ate dinner. Our room was good, as was the onsen area. The breakfast buffet was excellent - a great way to start our day! Once we found the parking area, we discovered that it is easy walking distance from the hotel.

We had some difficulty finding this hotel, even with the GPS. The parking area for this hotel is in a separate area and we also had difficulty finding the parking. The hotel staff tried to help us, but even they had difficulty. They tried using the phone number of the parking facility, but it didn't work. I think it would have been good to have a picture of the building where the parking is located, not just a street map.

Location was superb; right beside the main shopping street and attached to a familymart (they even have their own entrance from the hotel connecting to it!) The bath was good after a day out in the cold and the free food perks were fun; didn’t use the massage chair but noticed there was a mini manga library in the massage chair room too which was a nice touch. Room was clean and has everything you will need. It was also relatively spacious for a Japan hotel.

Pillows were quite flat (typical of Japan hotels we noticed) so it would be nice if there were more to stack up

Compared to other Japanese hotels, the room was very well planned out and had extra shelves so we could unpack some of our things rather than living out of our suitcase. Free ice cream, health drink, and late night Ramen made the stay extra special! Excellent breakfast too!

Great location in the center, but still quiet. We loved the spa. The room with 2 twin beds was spacious and clean. The staff was very helpfull and resolved an issue for us very adequately. There are many small restaurants close by and the Hirome market is also 5-10 minutes by foot. We stayed during the week and had no issues to park at the nearby OK parking lot.

Excellent Japanese breakfast. Check in complicated. You are asked rouse a machine which does not work properly with foreign passports. Eventually someone from the staff has to do the checkin - more complicated and time consuming.

The guy who sent me to the check in machine was not very friendly - very untypical in Japan. The lady, however, who finally did the check in for me was very friendly.

I have always been satisfied with the Dormy Inn chain of hotels, and the Kochi Dormy Inn is no exception. For the price you pay for a typical business hotel, you receive complimentary access to the hotel's onsen and free amenities such as ramen, which is a fantastic value. However, it's worth noting that this time I had to pay an additional 150 Japanese yen per person as a newly introduced Hot Spring Tax. Arriving at the hotel by car, it is still convenient to unload your luggage in front of the hotel if you can find a space. Alternatively, you can park your car directly in P1if you have lighter belongings. It's just a 3-4 minute walk to the hotel from there (please refer to the attached photo for instructions). My room, with a northern-facing view, was simply amazing as it overlooked Kochi Castle, one of the twelve remaining original castles in Japan. PAY LITTLE EXTRA FOR A BIG ROOM IS SMART, if money is not an issue! In terms of location, the hotel is situated within a walking shopping arcade, making it incredibly convenient to find bars and restaurants. There's never a shortage of dining options in the area.

The only downside I encountered during check-in this time was the 15-minute wait in the queue at 5:30 pm. Perhaps I was just unlucky, as the two groups of guests in front of me had numerous inquiries, which caused delays at two out of the three service windows.

This was a standard hotel situated in the heart of Kochi. It had some useful extras to pick up in the lobby. The beds were fairly comfortable when compared to futons! The fact that we could park our cars in a nearby carpark was a bonus.

Parking was good but just arrive after 3pm as you will be charged extra.

Location is good , next to covered shopping street , Kochi castle and Hirome Market is walking distance.

Parking needs to be at nearby 4-5 designated carparks to get jpy800 ticket from hotel. We arrived after 7 pm and nearest OK carpark is full , had to drive around n other lift carpark only accepts after 8 pm.
