Very good and convenient location. We got the Thai cottage right in front of the beach and in the middle. It was beautiful and clean. Lovely buffet breakfast. Friendly staff.

The live music was extremely loud right in front of the cottage and went in until 2230 every night. We couldn’t get much sleep because of that. It would be better if they finished by 2130. In fact, the singer wasn’t very good either. The cottage was beautiful however the wooden floor is very slippery, perhaps cleaning wax. The carpet at the door is very light and doesn’t have any grip on the floor which you could easily slip and fall down. My husband and I almost did!

We had a jackuzi-suite room, which was large and well equiped. Hotel is literally on the beach and hotel provides bean-bag seating on the beach and a bar. Prices are a bit higher than local bars but then all hotel prices are generally a bit more. Less than a 5 minute walk to the town/village square with shops, restaurants and bars. Breakfast was a good selection of Thai dishes. A quiet and relaxing place, rather than a party island.

Mosquitos. They love me and I seem to have got bitten more while on Koh Samed than elsewhere, even after using repellent, both in the room at night and at breakfast (as they seem to emerge from under the decked floor).

We booked the two-part family room because we were traveling with children. This is horrible, This is separate from the new building, the family room is in an old, bad building. Everything is worn out, no private terrace. The rooms open onto a shared corridor, not suitable for relaxation because all noise enters the room. I would definitely not recommend this room for families with children. The first night, a terrible and drunken group was so loud above us (they were fighting and even banging on our door) that we didn't sleep at all. We then asked to change rooms to the new building. We were with three small children (4, 7 and 9 years old), so we were accommodated in one room plus an extra bed. The hotel manager was very nice about the room change. He understood our problem and looked for a solution. We were finally happy with the change, although there were five of us in one room, we got the best Deluxe Grand Executive room, which is a first class room. It is important to emphasize here that my rating clearly refers to the original reservation for the family room

The location was excellent, and we were just a short walk from the white sand beach. The rooms were clean, and the staff was attentive to any issues that arose. We had breakfast every morning next to the beach. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of Thai, American, and Chinese foods. The kids enjoyed the pancakes and cereal.

I would like the hotel to be more attentive to the mosquitoes and to clean the walls in the room. I was fighting off mosquitoes every night in the room. I know it is an island and Thailand, but this would make the stay so much more enjoyable.

The hotel was amazing. Very clean. Very helpful staff. Right on the beach with live music and fire shows. Had the best morning of my life here waking up, great breakfast, swim in the ocean, very beautiful. The bed was very comfortable which was a nice suprise!

Only two problems I had. First night I arrived I wanted to take a bath but didnt realise it takes a very long time to fill up and went to sleep instead so if you want to have a bath then start running the water 45 minutes before you want the bath. Also I ordered some fresh coconuts, and i asked if they were cold they said yes. But they were warm. No problem, I just ordered something else.

The location of the hotel is great. We stayed in the apartment block behind the teak cabins which were still very close to the beach. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. I particularly liked the omelets made to order. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the seating area was a relaxing place to sit and listen to the birds or watch the bats flitting about among the palm trees

We decided to eat at the hotel restaurant one evening but the food took an hour to arrive and when it did it was cold as it had probably been sitting for an hour waiting to be brought to us! We sent it back and decided to not reorder or eat there again. We also hated the constant 'nightclub' style music blasted out onto the hotel beach sunbathing area. It would have been nice to hear the sea rather than the very loud music. There were only a handful of young people at this hotel, the majority were 50-70 so I'm baffled by this music choice.

The location and beach was great. Live fireshow every night. Spectacular on the beach.

The hotel was under construction and woke us up early in the morning with drilling and noices. The hotel suites young people because the rooms are made of entry and bathroom. Then you need to go stairs to get to the bedroom upstairs. So if you needed to go pee at night you needed to go up/down stairs. We allso had no balcony and looked into a brick wall from our room. Not many guests when we were there. The breakfast a bit disappointing. No bacon and the eggs were cold.

The cottages were very clean, beds were comfy and it is right on the beach. You get a beach towel and beach bag which is very convenient. It is close to 7-11 and the main street, yet a bit secluded from any neighbours so it is quite at night. We had a great stay and enjoyed it a lot.

You only get one card for the cottage and we kept forgetting it inside having to ask for someone to open all the time, also we went to bed at different times which makes it inconvenient with only one card. Our fault, but I don’t see why we cannot pay an extra deposit for a second card

We liked the fabulous location right on the beach! The green and lush gardens. Staff was very helpful. We had booked a doublebed room and were allocated a twin bedroom. When we asked about it they made a big effort to put the beds together in a doublebed way (the hotel was fully booked so there was no other room available). We had a really nice time at GrandView and would stay here again

We did not like (at all) the loud Boom-box music all day long on the beach. We used ear-plugs to spend any time in the beach part of the hotel. Another thing that really was a negative for us was the lack of table, desk or other "depositing" surface in the room. Initially there was only the bed and small bedside tables, and nothing else. We asked for a table and again the hotel was very helpful and brought a garden-type wicker table and chair to the room.

An amazing location, the Hotel was clean and staff very welcoming - willing to assist us with anything we needed or asked about. The breakfast was exceptional - The beach location was amazing and the evening fireshow was breathtaking. The island relies on potable water being literally shipped in, so be prepared for low pressure showers that save water.

There was no safe in our room on our arrival - we requested one and it was quickly brought up to the room - and just placed in the cupboard - not secured. We thought that was rather ironic and made us laugh a little bit.
