I have stayed at this property a few times and the last was 2 years ago. It was starting to show its age and the pet rooms I stayed in smelled a bit and the dog park stunk to high heaven. I continued to go to La Quinta facilities as it was one of the first pet friendly hotel chains and I like to be loyal, I must say I was shocked and thrilled at the remodeling and updating I found at the Gallup hotel. It was clean, smelled totally fresh and new. Rooms were beautiful, and the dog park no longer smells. Staff was great, so helpful, friendly, and professional.

I have no complaints about this property. The only downside was the Dennys next door, was not good.

Staff was very friendly and property is smoke-free. I love that I could open the big windows to let in fresh air, and there is a nice area for dogs outside.

My only (slight) annoyance was that cleaning staff started knocking on my door and entering my room by 9:00 am, an hour before I was ready to leave, 2 hours before checkout time. I filled out a pre checkout online, which asked me what time I planned to check out, and to confirm that time, so there was no reason they should have been knocking or entering before that time.

On a coast to coast road trip, we had booked hotels at Comfort/Choice locations. After a terrible experience in Memphis and a great La Quinta experience in Oklahoma, we changed all of our reservations to La Quinta. Unlike some hotels, this La Quinta is actually pet friendly. They did not assign us to a "dog room" on the property and were not unfriendly the moment I said we were travelling with a small dog. Pet fee was not published but was in the Q&A and was reasonable. Clean rooms and updated furnishings and bathroom. Nicer towels -- which was unexpected.

I thought the staff was over the top super friendly, kind, and helpful. To me, the people make the hotel memorable. Our room was a great location, and the beds were comfortable - nice, clean room, too.

The breakfast was not great - it is limited and I didn't take anything this time. Other hotels, with better breakfasts, have omelets or egg sandwiches. Also, oatmeal, with many toppings, was missing. There didn't seem to be much fruit, but I suppose it was adequate. They did have a waffle maker, which many people like, but no pastries or muffins. Other than breakfast, this is a great hotel.

5 Stars on cleanness and the front desk staff. Room is really really really nice.

The only issue that I found, which I've already let the front desk know to reflect to management are the bed lamps. Although they are really pretty, the electric outlet does not fit most of the adaptors. I had to move and disconnect the whole desk lamp off the wall, and used the outlet to charge my phone at night (if I choose to use it on my bed).

When you first enter to the property your expecting a warm welcoming , the receptionist was ok but I think they can do better than that, more smiling , a warm welcoming interactive with the guest like “ how was your trip “ or thank you for staying with us “, Never heard those words . Besides that , Everything was excellent, cleanliness , location , breakfast.

I have a service dog and they let her stay free. I appreciate they have accommodations for her, as she goes everywhere with me. We always stop here when we go to CA.

We had some noisy people next to us, that didn’t go to sleep until after midnight. We just stop there to get a little rest and then back on the road. The sleep was minimal.

The room was great! The bed and pillows were very comfortable! The staff was very helpful and friendly!

The breakfast was not the best. I had the biscuits and gravy. The sausage tastes like rubber. The biscuits were decent. Kinda glad the sausage was not in the gravy. I changed to cereal and it was great! The milk was ice cold, which made really good!! I'll try the waffle next time!

Location was perfect. Right off the I-40 exit. Beds were comfy..staff members were awesome.

I paid good money for a the room I stayed in and the bathroom sink was cracked. Not a happy camper. The dove bodywash shampoo and conditioner were not filled and the breakfast could have been hotter.

The property was clean, front desk staff was nice and accommodating, and there was a nice gated pet area. Pet fee was reasonable for 2 medium dogs. There are also walkable food options nearby.

While the gated pet area was nice, some guests didn’t pick up after their dog so watch where you step. Also would be great to have grass (real or artificial) for dogs since rocks can be hard on their paws.
