This place was a wonderful home base while on Isla Isabela. Byron was amazing from initial check in to answering questions throughout our stay. We stayed in Room 13, which was plenty big for our family of 3. Everything was clean and well maintained. The pool and courtyard were a relaxing oasis. Breakfast each morning included granola, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee/tea, eggs, and a starch or bread, and sometimes a protein. Each day the food was a little different, which was so nice. The walk to the beach and main “drag” was 5 mins. Many restaurants and spots for treats are close by. We’d stay again!

The hotel boasted a delightful courtyard, a rejuvenating pool, the most accommodating receptionist in town, complete with a charming doggo named Chocolate (they even have a statue of him haha). Byron, the receptionist, exuded warmth, extending a welcoming demeanour and providing invaluable recommendations. The air conditioning in the bedrooms, along with the inviting swimming pool and cozy hammocks, were ideal following a day of snorkelling or volcano trekking. Conveniently attached to a fantastic café, the hotel is close proximity to karaoke bars, a municipal recreational area, and a plaza offering an array of local food options. Within a 5-minute stroll, I was at the beachfront. Breakfast featured delights including fresh juice, pastries, scrambled eggs, yogurt, granola, fruits, and coffee. Byron's thoughtfulness extended to preparing an early breakfast for me ahead of a 7 AM volcano hike pick-up, showcasing his exceptional hospitality.

The bathroom tended to have a slight humidity smell each time I returned to my room, but I suspect it's just a factor of the area's heat and humidity, so I doubt it could be fixed.

the one room for 4 adults (3 twins, 1 queen or king bed) was functional on a budget but felt a little bit cramped since we stayed here so long; in retrospect would have asked for an upper level room (did a lot of water activities, would have liked to have the walkway handrail to hang things to dry)

The breakfast included in the fee is great. They switch it up every day but always include fresh fruit and coffee/tea. They were accommodating to my dietary restrictions (no meat/chicken or lactose). The shower gets very hot and has good pressure. It’s about a 5 minute walk to the Main Street of the town and the beach, which made it an ideal location for me. The room was large and had plenty of natural light.

Booking.com led me to believe I would be charged via card prior to arrival. I did not account for paying for the hotel in cash since it was supposed to be via card, and taking out cash in Isabela is very challenging, so was charged a 4% fee on the hotel stay and taxes, which was not ideal.

By far our favourite hotel of all four that we stayed at on Galapagos! Friendly, helpful, welcoming reception staff that booked our tours of Isabela at a great price and were always there when we needed them. The clean, comfortable, big room with a modern bathroom was a pleasure. The large breakfast offered some variety (unusual for Ecuador). The pool is a cool addition and nice to chill around. Close enough to all the restaurants, the beach and the centre.

Great stay in a lovely low key property about 5 min walk from beachfront. Immaculate small pool and lovely courtyard to relax Delicious breakfast very well presented. Room well appointed as well as bathroom.

Please check lighting on stairs and walkways as leaving early morning as there was none in getting luggage downstairs

Very nice hotel. Very good breakfast. Puerto Villamil is very small. Position of this hotel is so close to everything. Pool was very nice to use in the evening. Very comfy and clean room. Isabela was my favourite place to stay during my Galapagos trip. It is so beatiful place that I wish I could spend there much more time!

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Loja. The man on reception (Byron) is so super kind and friendly. The breakfast every day was great and they switched it up which was good. They will also make an earlier breakfast if needed for your tour.

It was a really nice hotel! The manager, Diego, die everything to make our stay very confortabel. He was welcoming and tried to go to lenghts to help us! Really recommend!

Amazing place! Only minus is that there is only one person who speaks English so when she wasnt around we couldnt get service. But she was almost always there so it was okay. Breakfast is really good, they change it a bit every morning. Leslie will book all the tours and ferry tickets you want. She also arrange our laundry. She speaks very good English. Nice yard with a pool. Restaurants, shops and apotek near. Wifi doesnt really work but it doesnt work well anywhere in Galapagos Islands. Our room was big and we had our own balcony. Very clean room. You can also get water for free at the front desk. I would definetely go back here and I recommend this hotel 100%! P.s. Do the Los Tuneles snorkling tour, it was so good!!!
