Excellent stay in a sanctuary close to the airport and Windhoek. If you want to spend the first night or last night close to Windhoek, this is a great option. I would suggest to stay at least two nights to have time to participate in the various wildlife activities they offer on the premises. Corne met us with welcome drinks at the reception and gave us all the necessary information we needed for our stay. He and the rest of the staff have been very helpful and responsive. If you read my review you probably have read as well some other recent reviews, as I did and I almost cancelled my stay here. I'm so glad I didn't, because we had a wonderful stay, one night was just too short. The recent very negative reviews definitely don't do justice to this great place that has been created with a much deeper reason than just being a lodge. Don't expect a luxury lodge at the top end, but that is not what you are paying anyway. The cost is totally justified for what you get. We stayed in chalet number one, very convenient next to the main building with the restaurant, reception and common reading area. Our room was super clean and nothing was missing, everything well stocked, towels, coffee, tea and minibar. There are definitely no rats in the room, my guess is that some guests might have mistaken the rock hyrax for rats. It could happen if you leave the sliding windows to the deck open that some curious animals enter your room, the instructions to always close the doors is clearly marked, even baboons could enter and they could really mess around. But aren't the animals one of the reason why we come to visit Namibia? Just don't let them enter your room. We had a wonderful sunset horse ride which Cindy, the caretaker of the horses. She is very calm and did a wonderful job and her colleague prepared us a sundowner for our last sunset in Namibia out in the wilderness, amazing! The 4 course diner was delicious and so was the breakfast!

This is not negative, but just note that you need a car to get here, 7km to go from the main gate. The chalet rooms are great for couples, if you are travelling with friends, just remember that the room, bathroom and shower are one big open space.

We stayed at Naankuse over my husband's birthday booking a walking safari and a 'behind the scenes' tour. The staff were delightful and warm. They made us feel really special - baking a cake and coming out of the kitchen to singing happy birthday in wonderful, Namibian-style harmony. Thank you! Walking with our guide in the late afternoon was as absolute delight. Gebhard enabled us to see White Rhino standing in the trees as the sun was getting low - an unforgettable experience. I think it's worth going out on foot and also seeing how the Naankuse charity is run and why it is needed to appreciate and understand what you see.

The villa was fantastic with nature surrounding it and animals visiting every day. The different kinds of activities kept us entertained for many days. It is really a magical place to visit and experience. If you like nature and you're visiting Namibia, it's a must visit place in the Windhoek area. Andrew, the manager, was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful, always very keen on sorting everything

They were mostly disorganised at the reception. With the exception of Andrew, most of the staff at the front desk was uncooperative, and may I say even a bit rude. The check-in / check out process was disappointingly difficult, which, in my perspective, doesn't detract anything from the experience but still something they need to improve.

We stayed in a big Family Villa and it was absolutely amazing! We regretted not being able to spend more time at the villa. We had Zebras and Giraffes drinking right outside our house 🤩! The Cheetah experience was out of this world, such beautiful animals! All staff were super friendly (except every now and then one of the drivers) and the guides very knowledgeable.

On our arrival at the lodge it was quite busy, we decided to have dinner before going to our villa. The buffet however was nearly empty and what was left, was cold. It did get refilled with fresh warm food, but that was when we were already eating what was left… The chairs that night in the restaurant were also quite uncomfortable. However, this was just a one time thing, as the next day the chairs were replaced by comfortable chairs and the food absolutely perfect! WiFi wasn’t working at the villa and mostly not in the main lodge, normally not a big issue, but after spending 10 days in the desert, we were a little desperate to let our families know we were still alive 🙈.

Thanks for a wonderful start to our Namibia Tour. We selected the lodge based on its location and as we wanted to have some animals at the very beginning for the kids. We only can recommend it. The staff was super friendly, the food delicious and our house more than we could have wished for. We even had some antilopes walking by our terrasse.

The whole reserve is spread out quite far. Our house was about 10min by car from the main lodge that served breakfast and dinner. Also there was a funky smell in the house maybe from freshly spraying insect spray.

Fantastic location for our first night in Namibia. Surrounded by wildlife and supported by fabulous welcoming staff this is a special place to stay. We were on our honeymoon and the staff made us feel very special, the room and facilities were fantastic and the food was delicious. The Cheetah walk was also a once in a lifetime opportunity to interact with such beautiful animals. To open the curtains and see giraffe outside was perhaps lucky but unforgettable.

This was the absolute best place to stay at the start of our 3 week journey. We had 7 people in one of the absolutely stunning houses. The view was magnificent. Great great food, lovely pool. Fabulous information and game drive.

bit of a longer check out....it took a while to get sorted with bills.

Very beautiful lodge with relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for starting or ending a visit to Namibië. Pool was also very good. We stayed in the chalets, they were very comfortable and had a nice terrace. A morning visit from the baboons was a very fun experience.

For lunch the offer sometimes a buffet and we preferred just a little snack before flying out which was not possible.

Considering that the lodge exists in order to finance the animal sanctuary, once you book this rooms you have the feeling that you are doing something good. We were staying in the lodge and not in the villas and the internal arrangement of the room was amazing, the best in Namibia and beyond. We did the jaguar experience and it was really an experience.

It is very well organized, a machine that works to produce money (for very good project indeed). Sometimes this feeling is a bit strong. Food is good but average.
