Old, well used motel but in clean and nice condition. The manager/owner was extremely nice and helpful. We had a long and pleasant conversation. Parking was ample and close, even with a trailer. Location was convenient but off the beaten path so there was no traffic issues.

The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable with plenty of wood decor. The area is a quiet and peaceful part of Raton at the foot of the pass. Rates and dog fees, etc are very reasonable and the owners are very nice, friendly, and very professional.

Hotel is old, but clean and the air works great. I lucked out and got room #46 which was a single queen, with two sofas, coffee pot, microwave, mini fridge, and TV with satellite. There was no noise until the last night (I stayed 5 nights), and that is only because a group of Harleys stayed. Harleys are never quite, but they weren’t late at night or too early in the morning. I took a video of the room, but I can only uploaded photos to this site which I only had one.

They are obviously upgrading as best as they can. The addition across the street looked completed. I stayed at the original building and I’m not going to lie, it looked a little sketchy. Needs some exterior repairs and paint, and there was old shabby furniture sitting outside the rooms that people would sit on to smoke. One room did look like someone lives there full time, but I believe they actually work there (they have a bbq grill out front).

Pulling into the motel itself looks questionable but as soon as you walk into your room it has a nice log cabin sort of theme. Very clean bed very neatly made.

They area has no service whatsoever.

If you love vintage, this sweet little motor court will bring on the nostalgia. So so so cute! Wished we could have stayed longer, but it was one of our in between stops.

Nothing really. They could zhuzh it up just a bit by painting the back court sign for a better photo opp.

We initially picked this place because it was the cheapest in the area, with the lowest pet fee. We were so pleasantly surprised with how nice the room was. It was so spacious and included a fridge and a microwave. They were nice at the front desk as well.

I liked the old school/retro/classic motel styling. I liked parking in front of the room. I liked being on the first floor. I liked the quiet. I liked he helpfulness of the concierge. I liked that it snowed. Pet friendly too.

Had to move rooms due to a plumbing issue. The concierge was a little slack, but hey he's young, and he did take care of us moving us to a new room, no hassle.

Our week-long stay at Melody Lane at the end of August, 2021, was wonderful! Even though we arrived late the first day, we were happily greeted by our hostess (the owner!). She explained a few things about the room and her hours of availability if we needed anything further. The next day, she was certainly available at the times she said. The room were comfortable, clean, and spacious, with the comfortable king-size bed. There was a microwave and nice-sized mini-refrigerator in the room. The wood decor looks amazing! We also loved how quiet the neighborhood was. A few blocks off the main street, so very close to everything in town, but not "too" close. The "steam shower" is absolutely incredible! A steam room inside your hotel room?! Amazing! Add in the nice-price, and we can't WAIT to stay here again!

The TV is very small and does not have HD. I really can't think of anything else we didn't like. Some people might be caught off-guard as this is NOT a new, fancy hotel, but then again, the price doesn't dictate that luxury. Visitors should not be set aback by the appearance.

It's basic, clean, reliable travel lodging. It's a motel that's decades old, that has been kept in decent shape. Are the facilities dated, and maybe needing repair or updating? Sure! Is it a clean, safe place to sleep while traveling? Absolutely. If all you need is a homey place to stay on your travels, this is the place.

Bathrooms (formerly a fancy 'steam bath') are generally worn - wear and tear to doors and tubs are evident, as is drywall damage in the bathrooms. Everything is clean and works, but will be heavily worn.

This place is almost like going back in time. You could tell this was probably a cutting edge place back in the sixties, and it is somehow preserved very well, especially inside of the rooms.

It's just a little bit outside of the commercial center of town, and there's a bit of a seedy feel to the place, but we didn't have any issues. There was only one other vehicle in the lot the night we were there.
