My stay was marred by deception at departure. The bellman and the driver tricked me into believing that I was getting into my Uber. It was very early, I was not alert, and failed to check the license plate. The driver answeredto the correct name. Before leaving the hotel, he did a lot of typing on his phone. At the airport, he claimed to be a hotel taxi, not uber, and demanded cash. I felt kidnapped.

My room was on the top floor, and I especially liked the large bay windows and the wonderful view over the bay (which was actually one of the reasons why I chose this hotel, and I was not disappointed). The room was very spacious and comfortable (a little bit "old fashioned", but it was OK). I also liked the breakfast room a lot (semi-outdoor, with a lot of birds coming around), and the breakfast itself with all sorts of food and very good and original juices. The location of the hotel is also very good for visiting the different parts of Panama City, and there was free parking for my rental car.

The staff were very welcoming especially Prendergast the bellman. Became like a friend to me. Like the prior reviews the breakfast buffet was amazing- lots of choices and staff was prompt and food was good! Water facing rooms were awesome with automatic curtains. AC worked well and room was spacious. The shower was powerful and nice. Excellent location in the city and price was very reasonable for 4 star hotel. There is a spa for anyone who wants a massage or couples massage. Never had to wait for an elevator long.

Not much really - only advice is to fix up the bar area - make it more inviting by taking glasses off bar, improve lighting and add pictures of food and drinks to your menu.

Some investigation reveals that this place was built in 1975 and once stood as the tallest building in Panama City for many years. You'd never guess that now as it stands surrounded by hotel and apartment blocks three times its height. Fortunately, it doesn't feel like it was built fifty years ago. I'm not one who is fussy about modernity but it is obvious the rooms have had a refit in recent times and are very comfortable and clean. Good beds, good water pressure in the shower and pretty good views from my room. The air con was fully functional but the mechanism mounted outside is somewhat noisy. However, this won't matter at all as the wildlife outside during the hours before sunrise, create quite a cacophony which I've never heard in the UK. But I don't care, because that's what I want when I visit a foreign country; an attack on my senses. Moreover, the windows are floor to ceiling and full width of the room, providing a great view out onto the city. I had to use the pool a few times, as the temperatures in Panama are unlike anything I'm used to in the much cooler UK, and the pool is clean and clear. The food is also good here and there was a BBQ for Sunday lunch during the few days I was there. Breakfast choice is vast. And good quality. Most of the staff can speak a little English but it really helps if you make an effort to communicate in Spanish and even if you make a mess of it, you can all laugh and it breaks the ice. I guess I don't have anything negative to say and that's because there isn't anything negative to say. I enjoyed my three nights here and it helped me settle into the country before I set off to more remote regions after my stay.

Although we were unfamiliar with Panama City, we lucked out by choosing one of the best hotels in the area. Here's why: * Location – Our room on the 16th floor offered an incredible view of the Panama City skyline and bay. It was breathtaking! * Price – The value for what we received was excellent. It felt like a premium experience at a very reasonable rate. * Exceptional Service – A big thank you to the Food & Beverage manager, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Truly appreciated! * Delicious Food – The dining experience was top-notch. Every meal exceeded expectations. * Convenient Parking – Private parking right in the heart of the city was an added bonus. So easy and hassle-free! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will definitely return when in Panama City again!

The hotel is exceptional with an incredible view over the Bay. The most beautiful view I've ever had from my room on the 18th and penultimate floor. 5-star welcome and extraordinary, attentive staff. The check in is very quick. The best breakfast I've ever had, hot dishes, pastries, different types of milk, scrambled eggs etc, fresh fruit juice etc ... The room was absolutely perfect with a rounded bay window and automatic curtains revealing a breathtaking view, super comfortable bedding and sheets and cushions, very functional bathroom. Perfectly clean. There's even a small empty fridge in the room. Swimming pool and gym where peace reigns, it's very pretty. There's even a small wellness lounge. The hotel also offers set meals and buffets. They are in the process of renovating the pool bar, which will be a real plus. Next door there is a small shop selling inexpensive souvenirs, and there is also a shop where you can buy drinks and food. They prepared my room for me before the scheduled time of 3 p.m. When I left at 1 p.m., they looked after my luggage free of charge and let me enjoy the hotel all day until the evening when I had to catch my plane. The taxi to Tocumen airport only cost me 19€. The taxi from Albrook airport to the hotel cost only 8€.This hotel is one of the most exceptional I have visited. The price is very attractive and the service is worthy of a 5 star hotel. Unforgettable stay thanks to the amenities and the and above all thanks to the quality of the reception staff and the doormen, whom I loved.

The welcome from the person at the gym/SPA was very cold compared to the rest of the staff (I went there to get a towel for the pool). Apart from that everything was absolutely perfect.

My room was AMAZING with a huge, panoramic window, remote-operated curtains (wow!), free water, spacious shower, smart TV etc. Breakfast was excellent. The pool was very good too.

Staff (unhelpful and aloof - plus, this manager guy who told off reception staff in front of me? I mean, dude, this is not how a good leader acts!) except one girl in glasses working at the breakfast checkin desk who was super nice. Laundry service (unnecessarily expensive and not properly and efficiently organised - i didn’t know i had to go to reception and ask for my clothes and pay for them to get them back! Hotels always bring back cleaned laundry to your room and you pay for this service upon checking out. Plus, my clothes (inclusive of underwear!!) were handed over to me in see-through plastic bags at reception for everyone to see - not cool at all!!!)

Rooms are lovely and spacious, beds comfy, good location right on the promenade, great breakfast and staff were helpful and friendly

The WiFi in the room was shockingly bad. I was in a room on the 16th floor, there were two options to log into, but both would connect for about 30 seconds to a minute with a very medeocre strength then stop working, tried and tried again at various times through my stay but same thing kept happening with my laptop and phone saying network error / poor signal. In the end I gave up and had to go and work in my laptop in the reception as it was the only place I could get decent signal. For a hotel of such calibre, and being a 4 star, in this day and age you'd expect it to have a better WiFi system for the rooms. It's a lovely hotel, but the WiFi in room situation would stop me from booking to stay here again in future.

You can bargain on breakfast, but don’t bargain on a good one. Some staff members are helpful, others are important. Go figure. The room was good, ocean view was great. Cleaning was superb. Wifi was more or less non-existent on the 9th floor and VERY frustrating. Pool towels weren’t available after 6pm and pool is open to 7pm. Manager wasn’t helpful! Location: short walk to bus and to HopOn-HopOff bus. Good restaurants in the area too - within a 10-min walk.

Great location, the panoramic views from my bay view room were stunning, the hotel staff was friendly and accommodating.

The only reason I didn’t rate this hotel higher is the internet service. At times, it was so slow that it became incredibly frustrating. I wasn’t the only one experiencing this—other guests were also complaining about the same issue. In fact, many of the hotel’s negative reviews mention poor internet service. Seriously? With so many complaints over the years, how has this still not been addressed? That being said, the hotel is in a prime location, and the panoramic views from my room were absolutely stunning. I just hope that by the time I visit again, the WiFi is finally reliable.
