The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and willing to go above. The facilities are sprawling and offer a lot of different options - nice pool and loungers, garden seating areas, big dining room, classic bar with billiards and games. The location is great. High up on a hill overlooking the sea. Whole grounds were very tranquil and peaceful. Incredibly relaxing.

The place is somewhat dated. This is mostly aesthetic - not actually impacting the quality of your stay - but the rooms could likely use a face lift to feel a bit more modern and polished. In that vein, some things like the bedding and towels don't meet the hotel standards you may expect. Towels a little scratchy, beds not super comfortable, things like that. Again nothing that is going to spoil a great stay, but may be disappointing if you're looking for luxury.

The location is perfect, with a 3-5 mins walk to the beach and restaurants. The breakfast is full of delicious options and served in a beautiful restaurant. Overall the hotel has a beautiful design and nice balconies with wonderful views over the coast. We went in April so we did not explore much of the pool area but it was beautiful as well. The staff was so nice and friendly, and overall gave a family business atmosphere, while the facilities are super fancy and beautiful.

Location, - easy walk to beaches and village . Hotel setting ( lots of great places to sit both outside in shade of trees and inside. ) Reception area v stylish and comfortable . Love the ship/ sea theme. It’s not dated, it actually works even though it’s been like this for yrs . Good style dosnt fade . Our room large ,stylish, great balcony with sea views. Lovely shaded day beds around pool, under trees. Garden was beautiful, relaxing ,quiet and peaceful ( 26 sept -4 oct ), as was the swimming pool and jacuzzi . All v well kept . Guess it could get busy at height of season. Breakfast fresh, plentiful with lots of choice . Lovely to eat this outside in shade of trees . Great bread! Staff were v good throughout. Would love to return

A double bed as requested not 2 singles pushed together and made up as singles Restaurant menu not available during our stay yet assured it would be and we’d be able to eat outside from restaurant evening menu .This wasnt the case . Only buffet available inside each evening . Shame as menu looked good online and garden setting lovely.

Very well appointed, spacious and clean room. Friendly, helpful and cheerful staff. The hotel is well situated in extensive grounds.

I booked here partly because it has a restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant on the Monday evening we were told it was closed for a private function. I raised this at reception the next morning. I was told that the restaurant is always closed on Sunday and Monday evenings and that this information is available on the booking.com listing and the website. I have looked again and can find no mention of restricted opening times.

We had Room 201 on the front of the hotel. Located in an elevated position this hotel has breathtaking views of Calella de Palafrugell, the cove and the seascape beyond. We were also overlooking the extensive garden and pool area, busy during the day and quiet at night. There were plenty of cabanas, (free of charge), and sun beds around the pool as well as tables and chairs amongst the trees, where you could sit and enjoy a drink, coffee or iced cream from the pool bar whilst enjoying some respite from the sun, if required. The room was quite big with a good sized balcony that could accommodate 4 people. It was immaculately clean, freshly decorated and well appointed with crisp white bed linen, plenty of clothes hanging / shelf storage space, a small flat screen TV, armchair, high quality black out curtains, air conditioning and double patio doors opening onto the balcony. There was an easily controllable thermostatic shower in the bath and it looked brand new. It could do with a bath mat though as it was a little slippery. The hotel reception area was immaculate with light coloured upholstered settees and chairs, coffee tables and very tasteful art on the walls. The restaurant served hot and cold breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate breakfast each morning and the selection was very good, including cereal, scrambled eggs, bacon, beans and sausage. We also had 2 evening meals which again was very good. Also, they were very good value for money though. The staff were all friendly, helpful and engaging, particularly Marina. We really enjoyed a relaxing and enjoyable time here and although the walk to the town, promenade and restaurants is quite steep, takes 10 minutes, and is mentioned in a number of the reviews, we would definitely go back. Plenty of free Parking also.

Great location, very calm and peaceful. Hotel was great but not quite the Ritz - comfortable but basic room with a small balcony. As has been said by others, the facilities were slightly tired but did the job well. Pool was great, buffet breakfast was above OK but below great. Ten minute walk to beach, all downhill but easy steps. Spar supermarket on the way to the beach was very handy. Parking was plentiful but on occasion had to park on the street behind hotel (free). All in all, a nice hotel away from the noise of town/beach set in lovely grounds of its own.

Pretty much all was fine. Being a super fussy type, I didn’t like the European bolster pillow (I never do) and hate the smell of fabric softeners on the linen and towels - these are typical gripes for me and not just specific to this hotel.

Second time we have checked in here. Ideal for us as a family as we had a 7 and 8 year old who had their own beds on a mezzanine in the same room. The pool was perfect and provided both shade and sun spots depending on your MO. Not many places in callela have swim pools and unless you can be at the beach all day with kids, it is great to have both options. A short walk into the hub. Place has lifts to make life easier and we loved the buffet breakfast and rated the food better than places we went out to. Highly recommend!

Nothing... it is charming

The hotel was amazing. Pool was lovely (not heated) and the staff were helpful. Easy walk to town, very close (although it is a steep hill!). The breakfast was incredible. Everything you could imagine, including smoked salmon and avocado. Seating area by the reception was nice, with big comfy couches. The couches outside were also very comfortable to sit on. Big comfy cushions.

The hot tub was pretty cold. We called it the tepid tub. The only disappointment of the hotel.

This is heaven. For the money we were blown away. The room was a good size, balcony was private whilst having a peaceful view across the trees and hills to the ocean. Nice and quiet at night. An easy stroll down to the most beautiful swimming spot. A good hike back but you can always jump straight into the swimming pool and grab a refreshing ale when you are back at the hotel again. Good value meals too. Used the laundry service which was brilliant. Plenty of free parking. Shower a bit hot and cold but it is hard to find the perfect shower! Restaurant staff wonderful. Reception wonderful bar one!

I thought I could hire a bike there or nearby but would have had to go into palafrugell town. Missed out on some cool trails.

Excellent stay, the rooms are incredible, we took one with an ocean view and a balcony which was really good. The breakfast was amazing, one of the best I've had comparing to other hotels. Nice pool and restaurant area, it didn't feel crowded at all even though we went in peak season.

The staff isn't super friendly. I get that it was a busy time, but we had some minor inconveniences that could have been avoided. Nothing major, and it was probably simply an overstressed staff member. It was also pricey, but also we went in August, so I'm sure off-season prices are more reasonable. For the area and the season it was great value for money.
